Yep! The Dewalt may have won the time test, but it did not win the price contest at twice the cost. OK, I'll take 3 seconds longer to drive a bolt, but I'll save a lot of money.
All the bauer impacts I’ve bought have been disappointingly underpowered. Switching over to Dewalt BECAUSE I’ve had to buy three instead of just buying a quality tool. I’ll still get hand tools and sockets from Harbor Freight but they can keep their power selection

Yeah if you aren't a professional there isn't much need for the power. Speaking from personal experience this test is jot am accurate representation of these tools. I own Hercules, Bauer, ryobi brushed and brushless, Milwaukee brushed and fuel, both the old and new Dewalt, I have both the 20v and the 40v Marita, and I have the Bosch impact and use them professionally in heavy diesel. The difference in price and quality is very apparent😂
@bigwahoo8686 I build docks and sometimes use my co workers dewalt impact. I have a kobalt high torque impact from before I switched brands, and the kobalt does just as good as his dewalt. I'm really able to compare the two when i'm putting tiebacks in sea walls. 1 1/2 socket running nuts down 3/4 inch allthread. I'm sure you don't believe it but I've noticed the pattern over years of using both. I will add this is an older kobalt battery impact, Quality has gone way down in the last five years.
Yes for someone that uses a certain tool maybe 1-2 times a week I would definitely go with cheaper but if you’re working hard with the tools 4-5 time a week I will definitely buy a dewalt or Milwaukee will save you money in the long run
I think it's a question of usage. If you just need an impact to remove lug nuts every now and again, or do things around the house, I'll bet the Baur would be perfect. If you are going to put it through heavy usage on a daily basis, you'd probably want to upgrade. Just be honest with yourself about what your needs are, and be smart with your money.
i have the Bauer sds hammer drill ive been using it for about a month now on a construction site drilling 5/16 holes into.. well ... concrete. each clip gets 4 holes i go through 240 clips a day and this damn thing still punching.... gotta give them some credit. i paid 75 bucks for it
Bauer is pretty darn good. I built my house with my own two hands and Bauer about 2 years back (saws-all, circular saw, driver, brad nailer.) I still have all of the tools and they're in great working order have not let me down one iota. This will je my next purchase. And I don't have to buy special batteries as all of Bauer's battery packs are interchangeable with all of their tools. Bauer....like a Boss.
I have all the brands with various tools, my favorite is the makita track saw but I mostly own ryobi and to be honest I can't really complain. That brand makes good stuff and it's suffice for the jobs
Sorry but that difference you're paying for way more power, better build quality, better battery assortment and full 3 year warranty. Bauer warranty 90 days
HF is not trying to make tools to outdo their competition. They're making tools that are affordable that can come close to their competition, and they knock it out of the park at doing just that. Just like the Corvette isn't trying to be the fastest supercar, but it can get close and still be affordable to more people. Weird analogy I know, but it's appropriate.
On some occasions the cheaper harbor freight tools can drive slighlty faster than the big name tools, but the difference is that the cheaper tools sacrifice quality and will not endure repetitive use, which is what really matters in a professional setting.
Switch hands now and do the same thing.maybe you are right handed and pushing harder because it’s your dominant hand. Just a suggestion to make videos better for comparison

It's hard to imagine a less scientific or conclusive test. How do we know the force applied by your hands was equal? How do we know the wood was comparable in both locations? We don't.
I'll tell you I own a Ridgid R86215K 1/2-in impact driver. Not only is the tool guaranteed for life but also the batteries are too. And I'll tell you what it takes the lug nuts off my Ford f250 like it's nothing. I see all these videos all the time about speed and I'll tell you I really don't care about the speed as long as it gets the job done.
Not very scientific. You need to do this on treated wood and also time it using the same arm. Your DeWalt was in your right hand and likely your dominant hand
