Bought my daughter the deadbolt for Christmas last year and after swapping out my esc from my gladiator, adding a light kit, and a camera mount for it she absolutely loves it!!!
Good platform for newbies! Tons of aftermarket parts to make it your own custom rig. Endless possibilities!
So I just got the SCX24 DEADBOLT version from my brother for Christmas. Finally took it to my local hobby store crawler track. It's my first crawler and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed my first crawling experience. I might get this one in your video. 😅
I have this truck as 1/24. Really enjoy it. Upgraded the shocks and steering link and servo link. That took the bounce of the suspension out.
I've always enjoyed my 10.2 builds, I just picked one up recently for a new project.
You can't go wrong with the SCX10ii. Excellent intro RC and the aftermarket support as you said is good. Vanquish parts always good. Pro Line tires. Like button energized.
I thought this is a great video with a brief intro and a demonstration of the crawler's capability. It appears to be a great crawler.
The more options to potentially get someone into the hobby is great!
I wanted to mention one additional thing. When I clicked on the link for this crawler it takes you to the Horizon listing for one price. At the same time when you go to Horizon or Tower the name of the crawler for the past version is the same as the 2022 version and it's cheaper. Some people might think they're buying the new one. They definitely need to have a different name for the listing.
I think the cheaper version you’re seeing is the previous version (green rig I show) I’m sure they’ll take that listing down soon as it appears stock has run out.
@@rcdriver You're right. Older version is green. It's out of stock in some places, but it's still available on Horizon, Amazon etc. It would've been nice to add 2022 to the title.
I just received an email from Horizon telling about the new release.
Always liked the Deadbolt body style, now the blue takes it up a notch. I'd have to go with the skull guy in it.
I love the body. I have an fj truck body naming on mine and still love the bolt
The motocross driver 4sure 👍🚲💨 Thanks for the review. The SCX 10 II here to stay ❤
Nice shots in the trails
Thanks! It turned out to be a lot of fun taking video of this rig.
Cool RC and great off-roading review
Great review as always, keep it up
Thanks! Enjoyed this one. Again lol
I love my 1/24 deadbolt. It's more fun than my EXC Temper. I've got to get one of these!
Thank you for this REVIEW
The blue color is a stunner! Big improvement over avocado green.
I’m guessing they green went along with the Axial color theme. But it wasn’t exactly photogenic lol.
I prefer the former green over the new tan, though. Looks nasty, like cat vomit. 😝
Hey Greg. Loving the new look videos. 👍🏻
Awesome! Thank you so much for the feedback!
Really glad to see the scx10.2 continue. The receiver would be the only gripe for me. Would have preferred the SR315 dual band.
The 315 would have been nice. But the SLT protocol is good. I’ll never forget chatting with a custom RC boat company that said they only use SLT radios in their $1000+ boats.
It would have been nice if you’re already in the Spektrum system. Or for a beginner upgrading. They’re most likely going to a dx5c or rugged.
So basically they ran out of stock of the original Electronics they use for the deadbolt and then re-released it with different electronics that cost more? Groundbreaking axial, just groundbreaking😒
No law in RC that says every RC has to be ground breaking. Simply continuing to serve the incoming base of our community is an admirable gesture by Axial.
@@rcdriver the thing is it's getting hyped by all the major RC channels like it's the greatest thing, the fact that they just didn't discontinue something doesn't mean they deserve a round of applause in my book.
@@SteadfastRC I kind of think it is admirable they didn’t just discontinue this platform. So many others just disappear. Nothing wrong with this platform and a lot of people still build on it. I think it’s great… support for many more years to come on the 10II platform!
@@bcochener I bought the umg10 6x6 and they discontinued it after a year and a half
Pretty sweet deadbolt
Skull head for sure😎
Old Greg you're funny. Forget that Axial noise. Years ago I would've recommended the SCX10 II for beginners but, there have been so many better options since then. You'd be better off with a Gmade GS02F, Carisma SCA-1E 2.1 or a Element RC Enduro.
There’s something for everyone out there. One thing this old guy has learned in his many years in RC is that people will buy what they like. The fact that something might be better means nothing to some.
@@rcdriver Yeah definitely. Back in my racing days in the 80s and 90s it was like that. First it was you were either a Tamiya fan or a Kyosho fan. Then in the 90s you were either Team Associated or Team Losi. Granted there were other brands but, when it came to racing, there was the big rivalry. Honestly, I'd buy from Axial if they still made nitro engines but, those days are long gone.
What camera do you recommend for the RC in general?
Sorry for the price I would take a Element Gatekeeper lipo combo$349. Metal links, overdrive transmission, 550can motor, great base with aftermarket support, battery and charger to get the new people started. I think this is a bit overpriced for what you get.
Can you do comparison on 10.2 deadbolt and redcat gen 9
I hope they’ll do a new trail honcho 10.2
Love the Honcho
Awesome
It's cool ~~ I'm going to watch the video well ~~ ^^
Can other bodies fit
Got this far without an SCX anything and nothing here is gonna change that.
looks a capable rig
Always has and will continue to be lol
Definitely the skull...I got a skull head driver for my Axial '69 Chevy Blazer...
If only they would make the interior able to add your own 6 inch figure this would be awesome.
Skull guy!!’
My original 10.1 Deadbolt still has the original “racer guy” head.
Ah nice! Wish I still had my first Deadbolt.
new guy here, does anybody know the bike track used in these videos? i live in MA and would love to try the bmx track i see in these vids…..any other tracks in the MA area, would be appreciated…thanks
Nice
🔵🔵🔵👍👍👍😀😀😀🔵🔵🔵
Damn this shouldnt be more than $250 imo. For $350 you can get a Vanquish kit.
It would be nice if this RTR retained it old price. But the new cheapest Vanquish is $389 and then you need to spend at least another $300+ to finish the kit. And its not a build for noobs.
I've never had one sooo guess it's for too lol
I thought for they were gonna put cvds and a dual protocol radio and ar45S axles 🤣🤣🤣 only $50 less than the base camp with no real improvements except a metal servo horn. Weak sauce Axial!
Man I wish they’d space releases out! Ha. All these companies releasing same time is costing me too much money! 😂😂
It’s tough lol
I just wish Axial would get away from those red diff covers. Lol
Really? I like it with the blue body lol. Little Rit fabric dye and 5 minutes in boiling water will fix it. 😄
We already had the deadbolt, it’s time for something actually new. This is 💩. Axial needs to go back to the drawing board and start listening to there customers. We want the 6x6 unimog not this old crap that can you can get for 200 bucks on Amazon . I’m really surprised you even bothered reviewing this. Kinda a waste of your time and everyone else’s.
Skull 💀 guy
Hi, I got so excited I farted and made a stinky. ☺
This truck shouldn’t be more than $220 when you consider how little more you can get a base camp for.
There are many factors that go into pricing an RC product that most people don’t know about. And because I know someone else will chime in with it, no it’s not greed, especially on an entry level product like this where they’d like people to stick with the brand.
What a joke by Axial probably parts left over so they made this im not impressed
Still glued wheels. No thanks
Not that cheap at 340$
Do a give away
Get a job and buy your own RC car rather than mooching off others.
Bro chill I’m not asking for it I am just saying, and I’m not legal to have a job
@@Iowaprod LOL dont get a loan for college its too expensive. Oh wait...
