    Spoiler alert: processor A (10:06 , 10:39) = TC Finalizer, processor B (10:22, 11:30) = Golden Master

    That weight comparison at the end is hilarious! 🤣

    Such a great video because of the compare. I'd say A is the TC and B is the GM. But not sure. I feel A is more transparent (reverb tail on the snare) and sounds like the 80's I grew up in. B has lost the reverb tail on the snare and sounds more 'loudness war' with the limiter pushed too hard - which sounds more fatiguing in the long run. If I had to master a track I'd pick A, but I bet many people will prefer B!

    I thought that A was the Golden Master, but maybe because I wanted it to be because I preferred the mastering sound over B and would like the module in my rack.

    I'm looking forward to getting this module. Though for a proper A/B test it should include a gain compensation knob or algorithm. Because for the brain "louder is always better" :)

    That's sick, also cudos to the marketing on the weight measurement at the end!

    I had Golden Master #219 that was bad out of box. I never got to try another but looks promising.

      since official launch in March the module obtained 3 main iterations of the firmware updates. realistically is very hard for any company - even huge corporations - to release perfect products right on the release date. But we do our best and thru all three versions iterations Golden Master transformed from rustic and aggressive tool into a polished glue and punchy device

      @@Endorphines How it that with the Pedal format? Why doesn't has USB or MIDI so that you can update upcomming bugs, just a thought.

    I believe A is TC and B is Golden Master. If I'm wrong I'll buy both. :)

    I have a Golden Master 1U and the knobs on the compressor mode appear to be working in reverse to all the other modes. ie: counterclockwise enhances the frequency. Is it meant to be like that? Have I got a faulty module?

    Thank you for the great video. Definitely adding this module to my wish list. Can you tell me what brand of case you are using? it looks to be 48hp(?) x 6U? Is it one case or two Frap Tools Plus? I love this whole setup! Thanks

    A has more details and does sound way nastier, more agressive and more interessting overall. B does lose to much details and dynamic range and sounds over processed to me. I say A is Golden Master since i already own it and i do really like the sound. Alltough i use the comp and eq at moderate levels like 50-70% knob value. If B is the Golden Master it got pushed (lowfreq) to hard for my taste

      @GuitarsAndSynths 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, for drums you want compressor/eq/distortion to tighten up and fatten the sound of percussion. I notice difference when I feed my Jomox bass drum to my compressor module.

    Guys will it be possible to compare TC electronic Finilizer or DBmax vs your new firmware v4.22. Please the product wasn't really ready and didn't sound as good as the finalizer from tc at the time, it will be great to see if its equal now with all the firmware update. Thank you

    Does it make any sense to use one Golden Master on the Drum and Bassline Section and another for the Master Output at the end? Or is it just useful at the end of the chain?

    • @ilionys
      @ilionys 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Feels like getting one for my input digital synth (argon 8) and one for master output… really feels like drums part could also get its own to get more control and balance everything. 😅
