    Love your ideas! Do you have any for leatherman K2&K4 series? I would love to buy them. Thanks

      Some of my mods fit those as the implements use the same profiles, I have the compatibility listed on each product page. Edit: Sorry, your asking about the thumb tabs, then the answer is no as I don't own the K2 or K4.

    Hey there Joshua I was wondering if these thumb tabs and the cases you make for the multi tools are made of the same material isn't there some kind of products that we can use to seal the rod nylon from getting warped or ruined because of moisture like some kind of clear coat like a flat clear coat or some kind of Automotive coating that we can apply to them like I love your products absolutely like I do plan on ordering some when I get back home from work as I work away from my family quite a distance but I was just wondering seeing how the type of material that is used to make your products and you were mentioning on another video I think about the nylon can warp if it gets wet and you don't take care of it I was just like I said wondering is there a possibility that there could be some kind of coating that we can buy off the shelf to seal it in thanks for your time bud keep up the good work

    This is a great idea but this will have a hard time selling at $50 per holster. A Leatherman branded nylon sheath is $15 or under.

    Wow I love everything about this how many extra saw blades can fit in the side of the sheath I may have to get one of thess

    • @ZapWizard
      @ZapWizard  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It holds just one blade. With the intent of holding the saw/file when you otherwise have the saw/file already in your tool.

    • @thegardenguy9160
      @thegardenguy9160 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ZapWizard oh man is there any way u can make one that will fit 2 blades I was thinking have the file in the tool then have a hacksaw and a wood saw in the sheath

    • @ZapWizard
      @ZapWizard  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thegardenguy9160 Because it has a sort of spring retaining clip, it wouldn't work with two blades inside. I might be able to mirror the blade holder to the other side, where the bit extender grip is, replacing that feature with a 2nd blade holder.

    Hey love the thumb studs but as much as I get that you want some compensation for designing that piece I wish that you would also put out the stl so we could print them out at home... Shapeways is nice for metal printed parts but the rest is just too expensive for what it is! Guess I have to create something similar for my surge... Anyway really nice job!

    So can you send the surge for the latest mods and sheath mods with you& how long will it take tl complete?

    • @ZapWizard
      @ZapWizard  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I don’t offer this type of service. The surges holster isn’t a mod, it is just an accessory. The thumb tabs attach with just a dab of super glue, and don’t require any modification to the tool.

    Is there a way to do this sheathe with a horizontal carry?

    • @ZapWizard
      @ZapWizard  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have a specific horizontal carry version because of the heavier weight of the Surge. However, I do have a version that is compatible with TekLok clips. With those you can make it 45 degree or horizontal carry, but they add some bulk. www.shapeways.com/product/SP5PLHJNN/tek-lok-compatible-leatherman-tool-holster?optionId=95209827

    Can super glue work on my black Surge?

    • @ZapWizard

      It believe it should. The blackening profess is a chemical treatment. You man need to clean any oil in that area using alcohol.

    the bomb

  • @sihartgroves7549

    Unbelievable! In the UK, thumb studs like this cost about £18 each pair delivered - which is bloody ridiculous: I made up some T-section inserts which do the job perfectly, using sections from a Costa Coffee stirrer as the part that your thumb connects with, backed by short lengths of a thin bamboo round-section meat skewer which fits into the hole in the blade and is superglued to the underside of the stirrer part.
    It’s a two-minute job - and costs precisely nothing. If you wanted to get arty, you could lightly sand the trailing edge of the stirrer part, leaving the leading edge ridge untouched. Because the bamboo fibres are pretty springy, it’s a good interference fit in the blade hole if you cut it to a suitable length, but you could use a drop of superglue if you were concerned it might fall out. Again, if you were concerned with appearances, you could paint the top of the stirrer with nail polish.

      @@sihartgroves7549 I don’t control Shapeways pricing. I have a 10% markup. Do with that wha you will. These aren’t made on mass, and yes there are many DIY solutions such as string, zip ties, screws.

      @@ZapWizard Sorry - I in no way wished to offend, and I’m *hugely* impressed with your technical skill. My point was only that it’s a great deal of money (which I understand is beyond your control) to do a simple job that can easily be accomplished with materials on hand.
