    Hahaha. Been a 'professional' SB player for over 20 years. The game/sim can do so much im still learning things after all this time. I recommend you throughly explore the map editor and the mission editor, you can create some real fun there....! I do love blasting pickup trucks with a LAV.......

      Nice! Coming from DCS, which has pretty powerful mission editor with ability to do scripting, I still found the SB Mission Editor even more powerful, at least without scripting. It's a bit dauting to be honest for a new player. The fact that SB has a Map Editor blows my mind. in DCS you have like 8 maps and that's it. Granted, they are like hundreds of square Km. Very cool that you can create your own maps, though that must take forever...:D

      @sofnsad 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Adalla Its not unusual to spend months on a map depending on how detailed you want to go. And scripting and playtesting a scenario can be days of work. SB does struggle a bit when you put 1000 vehicles a side in the game, it does have its quirks, the AI can be infuriatingly stupid sometimes but it can do heaps for you.... The map editor has limits but ive built ships and castles and Gaza City.... amongst other things.... Ive been at this for 20 years and still play almost daily.....

    I got the first version over 20 years ago. It was a great game for what they put out. The next version they put out was priced for a lot of us to be able to afford. Shame, because I would of liked to get into it. I am glad they are still around.

  • @Stagga345
    @Stagga345 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    If only you can get this in DCS, playing as a ground unit leaving a base and escorting a convoy. The level of detail in the tank is mind blowing. I think this would be awesome for people that want to play ground units in DCS. Maybe in the future it will progress towards it. (Wishful thinking 😂)

    • @Adalla
      @Adalla  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Stagga345 my wish exactly. I started with DCS and still try my nest to like combined arma in DCS, but the depth and AI is just not there. DCS was supposed to be combined arms, it just only focused on flight amd much less ground. I wish we could have the tank gameplay of SB along with the FPS of Arma

    • @Jorendo
      @Jorendo 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can, it's called Combined arms, it's module you can buy and play with tanks and other ground vehicles, act like spotters and such, the tanks might not be as complex as in SB but you can very much play as a tank.

    • @Jorendo
      @Jorendo 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Adalla Do keep in mind that it is extremely hard to simulate everything well. They focus on flight as that was their main stapple, DCS used to run under the name Flaming Cliffs before It became DCS. To have a accurate tank simulator and a first person shooter worked out proper, that would be a lot. Arma is great with Infantry, but the vehicles aren't simulated all that great either, its pick or chose sadly due to limitations.

    • @Adalla
      @Adalla  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Jorendo Fair point. DCS is a flight sim first at this point, but dont think it would take too much work to improve the ground AI to a point where even existing Combined Arms module would allow satisfying ground gameplay. But one day they will run out of aircraft to model, so I'm hoping at that point, they start modeling their first Tank in detail :)

    • @Ares200A
      @Ares200A 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Jorendo close.
      Before DCS there was LOMAC (lock on modern air combat) a pure jet based sim with non clickable pits. Then there was the "update" Lock On Flaming Cliffs that added the SU25T with AFM. After that came the KA-50 Black Shark (first flyable helo with clickable pit) as a standalone which then became DCS Black Shark. DCS World was already in development iirc. The we got Flaming Cliffs 2.0 to make online play between the "old" birds and the Black Shark possible.
      Honestly i hope they will fix/update/refurbish a lot of things befor concentrating on sth like tank sim or even infantry. I would rather like to see a more fidelity terrain engine (to get detailed terrain) and a really improved AI (ground and air).
      sry to be all wise n sh* 😁😉

    I'm sure Steel Beasts have been around for around 10 years!
    It's good in that players create the battle lions and what the mission ops are.
    And the terrain is 'BIG!' No little map with too many players on it!
    Different weather, seasons and night or day ops.
    I had trouble with it, because my puter system was just too small to handle it all.
    But if you got a good gaming puter, 'you're in!'
