what are if any the cons of the non-slier, like different kind of music ,songs it might be less suitable for or different licks is not as good at.. what are if, any of the downsides one should be aware of before buying this special model instead of a normal chromatic or diatonic? thanks... kind of like this one, but I am new to harmonicas so I know too little to say what it might not be best for , so here I am asking for advice :)) but I really like both the sound and its' unique look! thanks for anyone getting back!

Honestly, lately I haven't played any regular slide chromatics any more at all, only Nonsliders. As for the downsides: on some occasions, a slide may be a bit faster than the flicking motion of the Nonslider, but only to a certain extent. As for the tone, that can be (but doesn't necessarily have to be) a bit more 'raw'. Apart from that, the Nonslider only brings me advantages, in comparison to regular chromatics, that is - I'm not a diatonic player so I can't speak from that standpoint.

@@heinzegersensemble I see. great to hear your experiences... what types of music do you feel this particular model shines in compared to others and in what types of music have you felt is better use another type of harmonica? I will keep following you, I feel you make great videos here! thanks for getting back!

I use my Nonsliders for Jazz, Baroque, Classical, Folk, Irish, World Music, Blues, Pop, some Latin, Contemporary, ... for me the Nonslider is the most versatile of them all (including the possibility of 'diagonal chords' which no other harmonica can do, although admittedly playing those can get challenging). Of course, if you want to go for traditional styles and prefer erring on the conservative side, you'll probably want e.g. a bunch of 10-hole diatonics for Blues. For a beginner, the 10-hole diatonic(s) will be easier at first, but if you're familiar with some music theory and/or play the piano or so, I personally consider the Nonslider a viable and versatile option - just my opinion of course. Good luck and above all: have fun!

@@heinzegersensemble sounds about right... I can improvise on the piano with some easy now. And I like to sing...
Now I wanted to get an instrument as I do not have a piano anymore. and felt the Harmonica can be brought with oneself anywhere but then I saw the diatonic lack notes and began looking at the chromatic ones.. and saw they use the slider and then I found the Non-slider and felt maybe is closer to the piano and maybe easier to follow along to songs to miic ones singing and hear myself , my tones in a new way in comparison to only hears ones voice.. Was thinking of a flute as well but the tones are perhaps to clean in a flute and the harmonica somehow felt closer to the human voice..
I do not like to have an instrument where I feel limited... so is how I got interested in the Non-Slider..
and yes, when you play it sure look like you have a lot of Fun and that is why I felt inspired and deduced to write and ask you about your journey and experiences with harmonicas..
thanks for all the input, was really helpful! I keep following you. We got a harmonica course this Summer in in area, so I probably go and try there to get started!
      Cheers
