1:26 what an amazing hand water pump, I have small ones as decoration, does that one work? I would be absolutely overwhelmed by the garden but I would also be thrilled but the prospects of how it would look. Little bits at a time Sameena and you will totally get there. Don’t worry about waffling I consider it out side of the head planning 😂. Have a fab week ahead, Ali 🌞🥶☔️🇨🇦 Ps some roses you can cut almost to,the ground but yep defo check.
Sadly the pump doesn't work. However, there is supposed to be a well there and my neighbour is able to draw water from their well so I need to find someone who can take a look at it. A google search for 'well repairs' or similar has brought no joy! Outside of the head planning is genius 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the encouragement Ali 😃
I spend hours looking for my secateurs. And my trowel! I often find them in the compost heap. If you don`t mind an observation from a retired therapist, I think you maybe have rather too many things on your to do list. You admit at the start that you probably won`t get them all done, so you`re kind of setting yourself up to fail. I would say two things max. Then you will feel pleased with yourself when you do them and if there is time for something else then that`s a bonus. Also I would have put, " I am kind to myself " on your stone.
@@mywildwelshgarden-es3fr a realistic to do list is something I struggle with - I’m working on it. Two years ago my list would have been twice as long! I’ll try the two things limit 😀
Wow what a beautiful plot, so much potential! Unfortunately you will probably accidentally kill lots more creatures, it's unavoidable sometimes. I would say if you are taking care of your land and making it a thriving habitat for wildlife (which it seems you are) then you are helping many thousands more creatures to live, so it balances out. Don't be too hard on yourself! A good piece of advice that served me well when we moved rurally is to wait and see your plot in all 4 seasons over a full year before you do any big permanent projects. You've probably heard this already but I know how hard it is to resist the temptation to get stuck in immediately!
@@LifeOnTheCroft you’re right - I know I cause a lot of little deaths every time I garden, no matter how hard I try. But I’ll remember what you said about helping many more creatures with the habitat I’ll be creating here. Agreed on the four seasons thing, so much changes and I do keep trying to remind myself not to make plans just yet. But sometimes my mind runs away with me 🤣🤣
You aren’t waffling! Keep going 👍🏾
