17:15 my kids always say why do you say hello to everybody you walk past and I say because we are humans and being kind is in my blood ❤❤ I love the interaction with others
As a brand new TH-camr whose vids you have comment on I can say that I REALLY appreciate it. As you say, it helps to know you’re not just talking into a void and the community of folks doing this stuff and offering mutual support is so lovely ❤❤
😂😂 I can never get the finger coordination right. We have our burning permit now 👍👍 so yard clean up is a go. Sameena your rambling and waffling is one of the best entertainment ever so don’t change. Get a maul instead 😮oh wait you’re afraid of apexes 🤦♀️. I have learned to use an axe and a woooooo hoooo chainsaw albeit a small one. Oh lord Sameena you’ll be there for years splitting wood 🪵. Oh goodness sorry I couldn’t stop laughing 🤣 10:20 . Gerald says you need a hydraulic log splitter or the Hulk. Anyway Sameena a fab video and glad your channel is growing. Always always love the comments and interactions because yes we are a community ❤. Have a fab week and look forward to the next chapter, Ali ☔️🥶🇨🇦
Ah Ali, thank you for these lovely comments 😊 I’m working myself up to get a little chainsaw, they scare me more than axes - I’ve chosen the one I want but just need to pluck up the courage to buy it. I’m even more scared now that my neighbour told me that a chainsaw wont just cut you if you have an accident, it’ll rip you up. Eeeek!!
@@mymessyplot it’s all about safety and I totally agree chainsaws are scary. My husband broke his shoulder at the beginning of Covid and I had to pick up the gauntlet and do the cutting up of wood. It was not a huge saw but still no fun at first. I see a lot of people with those small battery saws too on TH-cam so hopefully you get a nice easy one to use
Hi ya, you definitely need a heavier hammer with a longer shaft for that, possibly a lightweight sledge hammer anywhere from 7lbs up to 14lbs should do you. That had me knackered just watching. I think most channel owners read and reply to comments. I love Ali, she is awesome. Try joining in with some channels who are doing grow alongs or growing challenges, thats another way of getting to know different channels and channel owners, even other subscribers from the comments section.
@@Jimmy.Plot.41.b hey 👋 someone else suggested a bigger hammer as well - what I can’t figure out is how I would hold the log on the splitter and hit it with a long handled sledge hammer at the same time. I can do it with the mallet but couldn’t with a sledge hammer. Any ideas?
@@mymessyplot yeah, use your small mallet to tap it onto the splitter ( one tap should be enough to hold it in place) then a good whack or possibly 2 should split your logs 😉. Oh by the way you got a new sub, thought i had subbed lastnight.

@@Jimmy.Plot.41.b ah ok! Thanks, I’ll give that a go once I get a sledgehammer. I hope it works on old logs that are hard as rock 😂
@@mymessyplot it will work, or at least it should 😉
I agree, not a fan of that phrase! Another synonym for that phrase could be "feed two birds with one scone" 🙂

@@bryansloesshillshomestead4523 oh I see, thanks - bigger meaning a longer handle? Or a bigger metal banging part?
@@mymessyplot heavier hammer head and a longer handle. A sledge hammer should work.
I will come and do it!! December? X
@@zsuzs921 you can chop firewood??? Perfect! December will be ideal, we should be finished unpacking by then 🤣
@@bryansloesshillshomestead4523 ok thanks! That’s helpful.
