The whole day was unbelievable, weather updates almost constantly keeping people informed. Watching the sky, unending downpours lasting , lots of lighting, it seemed unending. I live in Iowa and pray for these people. It could of been me. Sad. If your like me, you feel for people affected by disasters. V

Yes. I just survived the F 3.5 5/25/24 tornado in Valley View Tx in a mobile home. Out of the10 homes surrounding me, I'm the only house still up. I was in the bathroom with 3 of my dogs. All of us survived, sadly, 7 neighbors didn’t. The 2 children killed, lived across the street. 3 behind my house. House sustained miderate damaged, lost all 3 sheds, a barn and my car was totaled. Other than a banged up knee and scratches, im ok. Yesterday my momma dog had 10 puppies. All ok. Im highly blessed. Thank Father. Thank you Jesus. Thank you Holy Spirit.

I feel so sorry for these people! I keep remembering a headline I read in a paper from 1860 about a terrible but RARE tornado hitting near Knoxville. Now, it seems they are more frequent, more dangerous and destructive. 😢

Donating money or supplies, coming out and helping with clean up if you are close enough. Open your homes to those displaced. Pray if you must, but then back up those good intentions with good actions.

I’m so grateful that I turned to Him in the midst of my own terrible storm. He lifts us up wondrously and gives us a peace that surpasses understanding. Then if the basement is not gonna work with a tornado of this magnitude, then it’s time to move to plan B! And we gotta do it fast! Because the next one is right around the corner! My opinion for a plan B is a deep underground storm shelter just 20 feet from the house? I’ve heard these are very effective!

Cap the top floor with concrete plate, it is a must to retain structural strength (aka tornado proof). Roof is optional. Wood or metal is up to your preference. I did it. My last house will also be biuld that way. Cost is not the problem. You being lazy and paying a bunch of contractors is the biggest problem.
I live in Washington state we get a few smaller tornados every so often but they do only a bit of damage. I realize that can big and dangerous very easily so we keep our eyes peeled for them if get a warning. One bigger issues that we have are ice storms and snowstorms we moved to a more southern town and we’ve not have weeks without power

In Greenfield, friends, neighbors and relatives helped and shelters were opened in the town. The nearest town is 30 miles away.

Build out of concrete with steel and encapsulated walls. The only way a wall can fall is if it can lift the floor plate above.
