      How do you know he was not surrounded by love? Many suicides are very loved people. Stop trying to lay a guilt trip.

    This is one of the funniest 22 year olds I have ever seen. I grew up in the 80's and I imagine Freddie would have been so good in so many of those movies.

    His star was rising rapidly and I don't think he couldn't handle the success He was the verge on being on the same level as Richard Pryor but his life ended so tragically If he lived he would've been a superstar by the 80s doing movies recording comedy albums and being nominated and winning awards man the sky would've been the limit for this young man

    Freddie and " chico and the man ", was so ahead of their time in 1976, you can watch the shows episodes 44 years down the road, the script writers were so " spot on " and " so ahead of their time ", still laugh, still show empathy, because the script writers wrote about everyday, life's situations...

      Once you are on stage and comfortable and all eyes on you and youre in control of a crowd. There is probably nothing else that really compares in day to day interactions. But I doubt Freddie killed himself. I think some weird stuff in Hollywood is happening and was as well back then

    Crazy what talent he had, he was only 22 but he was as cool as any vet on stage.. Bill Burr put me on to Freddie, I heard of him before but only cause all the chicks liked his son when I was in Middle School.. I didn't know Freddie Sr. was a uniquely talented comedian, ashamed what he turned to!

    T.V.'s "Chico & the Man" trivia: Originally "comic" Freddie Prinze was cast to play the role of "Della." Producer James Komack, of course, eventually awarded the part to the behemoth Della Reese who had invented Reese's Peanut Butter Cups in the autumn of 1967 during her convalescence from a trampoline accident.

    one guy said about Freddie's son, only if Jr. had a quarter of his dad's talent. I watched chico and the man back in the 70's. he was born in 1954 I was born in 1955. he would of been 61 years old this year 2016. his son is nothing like his dad. I guess the mother did not tell him much about his dad until he was older. wish she had. oh well that's in the past and we must move on!!!

    • @mcmlxvi
      @mcmlxvi 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Gerri Petress Like seriously, what the fuck are you mumbling about? Were you fucking drunk when you wrote this?

    • @gerripetress8168
      @gerripetress8168 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you have a problem? I don't drink or take drugs.

    • @gerripetress8168
      @gerripetress8168 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Like I said his son really has no talent like his dad. I wish he never did what he did. Maybe Freddie could have taught his son some things.

    • @mcmlxvi
      @mcmlxvi 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Gerri Petress What was he supposed to "teach" him? How to stuff his face with qualudes and heroin, how to blow his head off with a gun. or how to leave his 10 months old son fatherless? Which one do you think would've been a better lesson? ... Are you stupid? Freddie Sr. was a STAND UP COMEDIAN and Freddie Jr. is an ACTOR. Drop the buzz and learn the difference. If anything, it is Freddie Jr. who could teach one or two things to Freddie Sr,. about how to be a man, a husband and a good father.

    • @gerripetress8168
      @gerripetress8168 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Adrian Lemarchal your. the one that is stupid butt munch!!!! Sir. was an actor too. chico and the man. how do you know about Jr? he could be on drugs too. and I don't think he is a very good actor!

  • @QueenBeesince1980
    @QueenBeesince1980 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @christachick89 George was a fan who got into standup b/c of Freddie Sr, and he told Freddie Jr that he (George) sponsoring the Hollywood walk of fame star was a way of saying "Thank You" and honoring Freddie's talent. The pic u are talkin about is from chico and the man, that entire interview is here on youtube.

    Most of the great comedians are from these Large Metropolis like...NYC, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles...but NYC. I think kids just grow up being exposed to so many different ethnic groups and their cultures etc...even a few carpet baggers. Like people have commented he was only 22 and I'm sure he has brushes with Old Jewish guys that came over after the war, folks that came up to Harlem from down South...etc... I use to love watching Chico and the Man as a kid.

  • @OneEyedKeys

    Damn he was talented. He had a tremendous presence for a guy who was so young. Most people are still half-kids at this age. As far as I'm concerned he had a comparable talent to the young Eddie Murphy, and so, could have been huge. The courage he had to make fun of EVERYBODY is phenomenal. It's only recently that non-blacks and non-jewish people have been able to do that. If he had of stuck with us, maybe we all could have been making fun of each other quicker...which really leads to peace.
