It’s not bad at all mate, haven’t found one bad thing about it yet and let’s be honest everything is fixable anyway haha it wouldn’t be a project if it didn’t need work anyway dude 😎😎😎
23:59 Don't need reversing cameras....best statement ever. If you need one of these you shouldnt be driving! New to your channel and I am loving your style of presenting mate, like it a lot. :)
have you done the timing mate? just did mine dose make a difference, esp uphill. Can get mine up to 60, 65 on the flat maybe 70 but dont want to hammer it tbh. my also run on lpg . btw my gearbox wines a bit in nutral. Make sure you change the transmission fluid and put in NEW correct oil amount in think its 1.9 ltrs (pls check though) should help. Dip stick on back of gearbox.
Interesting and helpful video, Thanks. Out of interest , on our Talbot Express we find 5th gear an absolute nightmare to get into 5th gear. The problem is you have to move your knee and leg completely to one side to enable the gear lever to move into 5th gear. Is this the same with your motorhome.
No not really, you might find the gear linkages are worn on your one. They’re common, you can buy the brass bushing and linkages from coastal motor homes 😆😁
Alright mate . Used to watch u a few years ago with the rc cars . I have a camper van . Just came across your campervan videos. Hope you are doing well mate 👍
@robb1chan9 As long as it’s not bad then yeah they do move around a bit. The linkages get worn and it means the stick wobbles a lot… new linkages usually fix it.
@RSPYT yep that's how it goes sometimes. Watched some of your clips over the past year or so on the discovery. Very handy cheers. Best of luck with the new project.
The gearbox whine is pretty normal, mine did it so I stripped it to fit new input shaft bearings and clutch, a good check of everything else and new oil and it still did it, been like it 4 years with no change so I wouldn’t worry about it at all.
I have one of these van, looking to sell it, but i cant get the bonnet open and think the catch has stuck behind the latch, any ideas how to get in to it please ? Thank you
@@RSPYT oh noo lol, i would try and see if it actually does power up if so dont throw it as it can be useful with the rca sockets on the back. I would connect the camera too see if it works too aha
Great Stuff, I really enjoyed this! I have just subscribed to your channel. I am actually restoring an old 1984 Talbot Express Campervan thats in a pretty bad way! I am posting videos of its progress on my channel if you wanted to check it out! All the best!
A buddy of mine puts power up in gear box engine everyware nice vedio glad you found the air nipples for the air bags good thing thinge are drying up in side a budy of mine a carpenter had the whole end of his trailer apart replace the 1 x 2 in the corners from the roof to the floor his water heater had leaked between 2 slides took out the slides and replaced 1/3 of the floor that was last year this year found a mall leak other end forgot what year it is never ending the saying is if your board and have notting to do bye a used travel trailer lol
That’s right, my one will do 60 but I stick to around 50-55 because the revs are too high at 60. I like to look after the old engine and keep the revs low 😂😁
I love my talbot express ( Walter ) can’t go wrong with those old beasts !!
@@Wanderingwalter you got that right!
Just brought one of these my self nice little vans
Talbot Express camper's are great. Not fast but very reliable.
Expect only those used for campers, are still in existence. Not seen a panel van version, for many years.
It is what it is .gotta get used to ot a good service and a drive will be ok.all the best to you all it cant be all bad.its just been negleceted

Good video! We have been working on our engine alot recently, issues with the carb we think!
Should be easy enough to mend :)

Mine is dodgy reverse lol

I am mate thanks glad to have you back :)
did you gearstick shake while driving?
@@robb1chan9 Yeah a little bit, I need to do that next lol it’s on the list 😂🫣
@@RSPYT so that's normal? I just went on a test drive considering a 92 plate I noticed the gear stick vibrating as it was driving....

Does it have the 1.8 or 2.0 petrol engine in it?
2.0L :)
I'm thinking of getting a 2.5 diesel one, are they fairly reliable?
I’ve never had one, 50% people say they’re ok the other 50% say they’re riddled with problems… just get it and enjoy it mate.
I have the 2.5 boxer - very similar - it chugs a bit but pulls well - 28 to 32mpg 86hp
2.5 turbo fiesel is the one you want t
I’ve Always Wanted a Big Test Drive in A Talbot Express / Fiat Ducato / Citroen C25 Vans / Campers / Minibuses
Well now you have one 😝
How easy would you say it is to get these repaired? Thinking of buying one in the next year or so, but would want to do most of the work myself
I’m in the middle of it myself as we speak and it’s alright so far lol. I’ve got all the walls out the toilet so far
Given up the the discovery then ? Thinking of selling mine td5 to get a camper
I had to sell the discovery in 2020 because my wife wanted a new car. I couldn’t afford that without selling my one.
@RSPYT yep that's how it goes sometimes. Watched some of your clips over the past year or so on the discovery. Very handy cheers. Best of luck with the new project.

With my one you have to keep the leaver pulled while you open the bonnet, have you tried that?
😂😂😂😂😂 he did fan sound and generator sound that me laugh
Anyone knows what size the overhead bed is?
I fitted a 120cmx200cm madrass in mine
06.28 you went past me. You had a grey car up your chuff.
Did I haha I didn’t see you! And yes I always slow down when they’re close behind 😂😂

Hahah that’s awesome
You need 12v to power the TV screen, be good to see if it works before you remove it lol
It’s already gone 😂😂
