  • Tiny Tools are just like real tools but smaller.Tiny tool makers include Knipex, Snap On, Crescent, Irwin and others. And some of my suggestions for more tiny tools from Snap On and Knipex. The EDC world would benefit from some new tiny tools.

Another hit, Doc. Tiny twin grips would be awesome! I'm sure this video will get traction and knipex will get on it. I'd put them to work.

      I have 3 #9, 2 #99, 3 variants of #999 ( including a 1950's Craftsman hammer tooth, made by V&B and #999 based ), and the 25oz which for some reason isn't in the series.
I'm probably not done acquiring examples of the #9, I may have to get a new one at some point though because all mine are different vintages.
I went that route because I prefer the stamp ove the almost nonexistent lazering they use today.

My wife is 4'11 and she does a lot of crafts and my tools are gigantic for her. This video inspired me to build her a kit of tools that fit her hands. Also the small bolt cutter there are actually a bit of a misnomer as they're more often used for cutting wire, often fencing wire. We go through Maizen Lata or midget cutters 8" bolt cutters at work like crazy.

A little tip some might find useful… I bought 4-5 mini tape measures (everyone has their favorite brands and formats), and glued 1.5” neodymium disc magnets on the backs. In my hobby machine shop I stuck one everywhere they would be handy - and they are! Total project cost was well under $35.

Another option for a small set of cobra style pliers is the Irwin 6" groove lock pliers. I got them to see if I'd like an edc set of pliers. I cut off about an inch from each handle to make them more pocketable. The handle grips are removable so I took them off, trimmed them down from the top and then placed them back on. They work well and are great to keep on me so I don't have to run back to my tool roll that's in my van to get a set. They're nice to remove small bonnet nuts that hold in faucet cartridges and tighten set bolts on pop up assemblies. A little less expensive than Knipex but so far they've been great.

Those Milwaukee tape measures are quite handy. Bought multiple copies - to include one that I gave my wife. Used to be when I started talking about distances/measurements she wouldn't have a frame of reference now she does - and also I have copies for myself that I can leave in places (like my vehicle) where a tape that size can be handy when needing a tape measure would be unexpected (and it being both standard and metric make it all the more useful).

I wish knipex would come out with a 125 and 180 version of the twingrips. 200 is way to big for anything Id use that style of plier for thats one of the biggest reasons I dont have a set of twingrips. But if they had pre orders on a set of 125 or 180 Id be one of the first on the list. But it has to have the button.

If I were doing drawings for the tooling, I'd modify the inverse arc of the handles, as I noted near the end, and try to do something about obvious pinch risk if I could, but really those are going from ~95% to ~99%. These are really fantastic the way they are.
