Hey Guys, this is a reupload. The original cut of the Shin Godzilla video that I released two weeks ago was blocked by Toho before everyone had a chance to watch it. Had to make significant cuts and alterations unfortunately, but Toho are pretty notorious for this, so I just wanted to ensure you could all at least see a version of the video. Hoping this stays up! Cheers and Have a Happy new year! :)
I don’t get why many Japanese companies love to do constant take downs. No one is more notorious for this than Nintendo, & it’s sad to hear that Toho isn’t much different.
That's super lame. Unnecessary Litigiousness looks very bad on entertainment companies. Especially videos like this that are WELL within the bounds of fair use, and in fact go way overboard on being transformative. If twitchers can basically just restream shows with essentially no commentary, then your style of conscientious editing is absolutely above scrutiny
This movie depicts the scariest version of God Zilla imo. The constant evolution of the creature, with the humanoids growing from his body, was icing on the cake
Once mankind ever has to deal with a deadly creature capably of evolving and changing its own DNA at will to become more destructive; we’re lowkey doomed. Thats the scary thing about Shin, is despite being in the modern era we’re just as powerless to stop him as the characters were in Minus One
I like how the creature screams in pain while its body mutates faster than it can tolerate (his weight is crushing its bones and its gills are filled with blood because the creature is not submerged anymore)
@@brandenapexo604it kind of makes sense, in a way. It’s just.. suffering. Everything’s attacking it, it can’t feel anything other than pain and constant evolution and rearranging of its cells and mass. Really horrific, kind of sympathetic. Very interesting take, indeed
Toho thought that hiring a man who directing evangelion is a great thing which it is until he present a more grosteque and the most horrifying movie ending (and possibly a sequel). Bringing "…monsters are not born, they're made" to both new level.
Honestly this movie was amazing, it was terrifying how scary that this version of Godzilla was capable of being, I also like how the film makers went back to Godzilla being a reflection of events like Fukushima.
I hope this one stays up too. I genuinely thoroughly enjoy your critics and breakdowns, more so than any other review channel. Happy New Year if this is the last one for 2023!
Shin Godzilla was great. Hideaki Anno reused a lot of elements like music from his Evangelion films. Wish it would have a good quality dub to match the quality of the film.
This and Minus One are arguably my favorite Godzilla designs since the Heisei era. This one is so unique, I'm glad they tried something different and it paid off. Minus One is smaller, and more reminiscent of the classic designs, and might just be my all-time favorite Godzilla look ever.
I thought this video seemed familiar. It doesn't matter, I will re-watch to continue my support of your channel. I have enjoyed your videos for years, especially the SCP content.
Shin Godzilla is the most terrifying iteration of Godzilla. It is an uncaring force of Nature. If it had been allowed to continue to evolve, it would have become completely unstoppable. It's a truly horrifying nightmare. Thank you Nyat, and Happy New Year! 🎉
My goat!!!! Shin is my absolute favorite goji so far, it just bleeds eva and i loooove that. I think the ending should have just gone full out having goji evolve into something divine. A downer ending similar to end of eva would have been peak. Excited to watch this vid!
Godzilla: Minus One is the best Godzilla film of all time...BUT...Shin Godzilla is my favorite incarnation OF Godzilla of all time...straight up NIGHTMARE FUEL 😳
Minus One was so good. But I have to say, I really wish we could have seen where this idea was going. But hey, we had to wait a long time for the Rebuild of Evangelion. Maybe someday.
How did this not get a sequel. As much as minus one is good and the legendary series is also good, I’m disappointed that a movie so poignant and well done can just get thrown aside.
I love that this cleared the Japanese Oscar’s, rightfully so. I have never liked the original Godzilla movies, and the American ones are fun but idk… they’re not Shin or Minus One (which won an American oscar!)
Great vid, shame about having to recut the original, guess it highlights different countries take on this type of analysis. I look forward to your Godzilla Minus One vid, which is a brilliant re-interpretation of the franchise imo.
Hey Niyat I’d like to ask you a question, at the beginning of the video I heard a slavic war drum music, and thought it sounded really cool what’s the name of it, and is it available on Epidemic sound?
No wonder Shin Godzilla was messed up and over powered, The maker of Evangelion was his maker! That mofo have created messedup angles in his anime. Damn thing was emaculate
8:26 the man in the photo on the right was not a victim of an atomic bomb, he was a slave from Louisiana known as "Whipped Peter". Those scars aren't from radiation, they're from a whip, and that photo is from 1863, 80 odd years before the invention of the atomic bomb. Please do better to get your information right.
The story for Godzilla Minus One pays more tribute to the original Godzilla movie. Shin Godzilla is more of a modern take where he is mutated by nuclear waste in the ocean.
Just a quick note : the photo you showed of atomic bomb victims. One of the photos is actually a slave with scar from the whips used to beat him. ….. Not a huge deal
Biggest part of this film was mocking the inefficiency of red tape society , esp w regards to how badly fukushima was handled. maybe this is left out of the dub you watched?
I'm thinking Godzillas body feeling the attacks from us little people and being surrounded by extremely small targets that are a bit difficult to get all at once, forced the evolution of them. A defense mechanism of sorts.
Not to be that guy, but it should be noted that most instances of the use of the word “evolve” or “evolution” in this video should be replaced with “metamorphose” and “metamorphosis”. Ugh that annoying... Toho. It's an explaining video. Not a movie upload
I don’t get why many Japanese companies love to do constant take downs. No one is more notorious for this than Nintendo, & it’s sad to hear that Toho isn’t much different.
That sucks. It's literally a video explaining about this and that
That's super lame.
Thank you! I was like “ WTF swore i saw this before”. Still going to watch, Keep it up
As much as I love Legendary Godzillas power-up noise and atomic breath, Shin Godzilla's atomic breath is just terrifyingly beautiful.
By far the most beautiful atomic breath. Minus One is a really close position!
This movie depicts the scariest version of God Zilla imo. The constant evolution of the creature, with the humanoids growing from his body, was icing on the cake
Agreed. Try telling that to countless TH-camrs that try dismiss Shin Godzilla.
Once mankind ever has to deal with a deadly creature capably of evolving and changing its own DNA at will to become more destructive; we’re lowkey doomed. Thats the scary thing about Shin, is despite being in the modern era we’re just as powerless to stop him as the characters were in Minus One
@@stevenbruno7710I hope evolution speeds up for this to happen. Humans need to go and become dust at this point.
I like how the creature screams in pain while its body mutates faster than it can tolerate (his weight is crushing its bones and its gills are filled with blood because the creature is not submerged anymore)
The fact that this thing was in constant pain and confusion while it was wreaking absolute havoc was such an interesting depiction of the Gojira
@@brandenapexo604it kind of makes sense, in a way. It’s just.. suffering. Everything’s attacking it, it can’t feel anything other than pain and constant evolution and rearranging of its cells and mass.
Really horrific, kind of sympathetic. Very interesting take, indeed
Well, that's crazy: a film that gives the spectacle that its audience wants so much. And currently, so few deliver.
Everything about this Godzilla is beautifully horrifying.
Love that scene when he unleashes that purple beam even like the background music.
Yeah it is soooo epic!
There is a version on YT with the background music removed, and its just as terrifying if not more in my opinion. Definitely worth checking out

It’s mind blowing how many godzilla movies there are.
I hope this one stays up too. I genuinely thoroughly enjoy your critics and breakdowns, more so than any other review channel.
Happy New Year if this is the last one for 2023!
A reupload?
That's ok.
It's still an impressive kaiju body horror film.
I wish they had made a sequel.
Yes thats right Shaine, and me too mate!
Toho isn’t known for making very many true sequels to Godzilla films most are stand alone
The score “Who Will Know” perfectly encapsulates the tragedy of this Godzilla. A monster in pain.
I love this movie to death. I cant explain it lmao, its up there with minus one and i genuinely have a hard time deciding which one i like more.
Shin Godzilla was great. Hideaki Anno reused a lot of elements like music from his Evangelion films. Wish it would have a good quality dub to match the quality of the film.
Godzilla minus one is an amazing good movie and i can't recommend it enough. Though the movie has a lot of allegory, its 9/10. ^_^
"I see a flaw in this plan."
5:29 I just love the Japenglish words used on Kyoko's resume.
Being Bombed by 2 Nukes is bound to create many interpretations of the devastation
Shame to hear about the edits you had to do you've still done some quality work covering this 👌👌
I literally just finished this movie for the first time and loved it
My favorite Godzilla movie of the Reiwa era
This and Minus One are arguably my favorite Godzilla designs since the Heisei era. This one is so unique, I'm glad they tried something different and it paid off.
Minus One is smaller, and more reminiscent of the classic designs, and might just be my all-time favorite Godzilla look ever.
Godzilla's Minus One atomic breath is powerful enough to contaminate a city with radiation.
I thought this video seemed familiar. It doesn't matter, I will re-watch to continue my support of your channel. I have enjoyed your videos for years, especially the SCP content.
I appreciate that
I just watched it last night so this was perfect timing!
Shin Godzilla is the most terrifying iteration of Godzilla. It is an uncaring force of Nature. If it had been allowed to continue to evolve, it would have become completely unstoppable. It's a truly horrifying nightmare.
Thank you Nyat, and Happy New Year! 🎉
Can 100% see evangelion connections. Like when he uses his atomic breath. That high pitch noise
Thanks for posting this, really great vid!
I love everything you do please never stop
I love shin Godzilla
Great review of a Great Movie, thanks!
My goat!!!! Shin is my absolute favorite goji so far, it just bleeds eva and i loooove that. I think the ending should have just gone full out having goji evolve into something divine. A downer ending similar to end of eva would have been peak. Excited to watch this vid!
I still want to find the end credits music FCE always uses at the end.
Wow, that was alot of destructive freetime for Shin godzilla
Godzilla: Minus One is the best Godzilla film of all time...BUT...Shin Godzilla is my favorite incarnation OF Godzilla of all time...straight up NIGHTMARE FUEL 😳
It would fascinating to see how the approach would change considering the very different geopolitical situation than in 2016.
Well I'm glad I caught the original upload too
Given the body horror of Godzilla, it’s no wonder there’s a connection to Neon Genesis…
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe and Happy New Year 🕛🎊😊

How did this not get a sequel. As much as minus one is good and the legendary series is also good, I’m disappointed that a movie so poignant and well done can just get thrown aside.
I mean, it works really well as a stand alone film.
Normalize stand-alone films that aren't ruined by cashgrab sequels
Explore The Ancient Enemy from The Phantoms.
2014 Godzilla: Best Atomic Breath Sound
Shin Godzilla: Best Atomic Breath Build Up
Godzilla Minus One: Best Atomic Breath Effect
I’m glad I caught it before it got taken down!!!
Rezpload because stupid Copyright? No problem, I just watch it again!
Godzilla is
Genuinely terrifying to me
This movie has the best score
Th godzilla curse strikes again on niyat
Now that I have seen Godzilla Minus 1, I still think Shin Godzilla is more terrifying.
Love the video can you do tasi from amnesia ❤
I enjoyed it.
“Invoking the imagery of atomic bomb scars” shows picture of an American slave before the civil war
*"There was once an ugly barnacle, he was so ugly that everyone died, the end"*
-Patrick Star
Monsterverse Godzilla = best Godzilla. It's not even close.
Easily my number 2 most op Godzilla just under the 3d anime Godzilla
i know that minus one has an impressive atomic breath, but I maintain that shin’s is way more devastating
Here to like it again
This was pretty interesting
I love that this cleared the Japanese Oscar’s, rightfully so. I have never liked the original Godzilla movies, and the American ones are fun but idk… they’re not Shin or Minus One (which won an American oscar!)
It'd be great if you could possibly Godzilla Singular Point eventually, especially given the strong influence of Shin Godzilla on it
this is the only thing I like about Shin his nuke breath, not fancying the dorsal and tail lasers.
such a good film.
Great vid, shame about having to recut the original, guess it highlights different countries take on this type of analysis.
I look forward to your Godzilla Minus One vid, which is a brilliant re-interpretation of the franchise imo.

We want Shin Godzilla 2....
Hey FilmComicsExplained do (Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom) story+ending explained.
Godzilla God of destruction
I like to think we're all just highly evolved little godzillas
8:24 One is from nukes and one is from slavery.
Cell Max took inspiration from this one.
Japan has endured a lot of catastrophes and yet remains one of the richest countries on this planet.
No wonder Shin Godzilla was messed up and over powered, The maker of Evangelion was his maker! That mofo have created messedup angles in his anime. Damn thing was emaculate
people are praising minus one and rightfully so, but Shin takes the cake, to me is far more entertaining and Godzilla is more terrifying.
it suffers the same problem all the other huge monster movies have
That is?
Please do Assassin's creed movie 2016

21 minute video and you didnt talk about Gozillas shins at all! :(
I swear the scene with large quantities of blood gushing from its gills made me sick to my stomach.
Im Sorry but his fish eyes look silly and take away all of his terror 😂
Isn’t the scarred back of the man on the right from being whipped during slavery? Guy on the left definitely looks burned though
Since WW2, Japan’s military no longer goes overseas to fight wars of conquest and instead exists to fight Godzilla…😂
Why did you re-upload this video again
Hi
Isn't this the story of Godzilla Minus One? Am I crazy?
The story for Godzilla Minus One pays more tribute to the original Godzilla movie. Shin Godzilla is more of a modern take where he is mutated by nuclear waste in the ocean.

20:21 Covering Godzilla Minus One next week
Me: He already covered that last week didn’t he?
(sees that the video is a reupload)
Oh Right👀
Long Live The King!
💪❤️
Why is it a godzilla? With so many godzilla look alike with different names
Ah yes the slow wheels of bureaucracy
I’m curious about those creatures that were coming out of Godzilla tail
I'm thinking Godzillas body feeling the attacks from us little people and being surrounded by extremely small targets that are a bit difficult to get all at once, forced the evolution of them. A defense mechanism of sorts.
@@TJB-qn5fy interesting 👍
Wait Shin is a prequel to minus 1? And that God awful Netflix series were they fly off to space and return to a mountain size godzilla
Who could win the fight Godzilla minus one or Shin Godzilla.
Image on the right at 8:25 is not of an atomic bomb victim. That's a survivor of US slavery.
The way it opens its mouth. It reminds me of an anaconda, which makes it all the more scary to me. 😱
Unhinged his jaw for defense instead of food lol
Honestly if I was the prime minister and I saw shin evolving I’m nukeing the city
Should have been called Godzilla 682.
Not to be that guy, but it should be noted that most instances of the use of the word “evolve” or “evolution” in this video should be replaced with “metamorphose” and “metamorphosis”.
