This is a Motormouth review of the 202 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R twin-turbo V8 coupe. The GT R is the more performance oriented version of the Mercedes GT line with an assertive stance, big wing and attitude. The GT line might be in peril as there will be no V8 powered engine sold for 2022 in North America and the future might be to pure electric. Could this be an opportunity to grab a V8 powered super coupe like this before they are all gone?

What a gorgeous car. I saw one in person last year and my jaw dropped, and not even a Porsche Turbo did that for me before based on looks alone. It is stunning. :) lucky you for driving one again!

Great video- True scoop real HP figures are around 609 stock- LOL I took a guy that works for me out to dinner awhile back when he was in town- I picked him up at the four Seasons in SF and he says- Man this looks like a batman car. I was first attracted to these because they look to me like a modern E type. So I got the 2020 AMG GTR with EVERY available option. I then put a Renntech stage 3 on it and it is the best car I have ever owned. Carbon ceramic brakes/cup tires help me get around the track on track days like a pro. Luxurious too. People complain about the ride but I think it is perfect. I like a firm ride I want to know what my suspension is doing. With this you know right away what is going on. Love the car wouldn't trade it for anything currently available.

Great cars.. Will be sad when it's gone.. The black series is a great send off.. Btw the cla45/gla45 (all cla, a, glb, gla) have dual clutches.. And the blue tape on the rear cross bar cover I guarantee is stuck on now.. I can't tell you how many of those I replaced as they melt on in transit to dealerships. Easy though, just a cover peice

I’ve driven, and been in, a fair share of entry-level supercars (latest M5, SL55 AMG, 911 Turbo, Ferrari 355/360....), but nothing on ‘this level’. I don’t believe I’ve ever even been close to any variant of these epically gorgeous Benz GT’s (save on a motorway). I’d love to get a real good look at one soon. I pray that they are as stunningly sexy, yet rawly masculine, in real life... as they appear on video/photos. I’ll advice my Wife that you said they were a safe investment... I trust she won’t mind selling ‘just’ one of the kids! ... otherwise, this car is way out of my league. But I’ll reserve a spot in my Dream Garage for one (albeit in a different colour). As an owner of one- The value is staying steady due to the chip shortage but I wouldn't declare it a "safe" investment. I also personally don't think it is a supercar. It is a top shelf sports car or track car.
Is it not possible to get a further back view of the cockpit? Everything seems to be up close. I get no sense of how things flow together.
is it a car you take on road trips, or daily driver? or is it a weekend warrior?

I got mine in March. Same year, similar km's, in magnetite black. Going by the price of this it looks like mine has already shot up in price. I'm sure that may change after the chip shortage problem and used cars come back to earth but it feels good to not be losing my shirt on a car for once haha.

@@Motormouth... thank you. I also believe 2021 is the last year for this version of gt r regardless. Then like you were saying they will probably change to some sort of smaller displacement engine, possibly a hybrid.
Mine is in gray magno, yellow seatbelts! Was thinking about selling it, but I am definitely holding on to it now!
