    Spot on Darren you are paid your worth , what you believe you are worth , I always say I offer a service at my price the customer is under no pressure to employ my services and I don't have to work for every potential cheap customer either , I put 110 percent into my work so I deserve a good wage for it , i have been told many times " how much " I just smile and say it's what I charge to make my business work and for the effort that goes into it all , plus people forget you are selling Hours of your life essentially don't sell em cheap. 👍

It does make me laugh when I quote a new job and they can say my price is a lot more compared to what they where getting charged, and they wonder why the old window cleaner didn’t turn up much or do a professional job , hence I get the call and always happy after first clean.

    Question from a cleaner in the states. How many windows do these homes have that you are cleaning for 45 pounds? Our homes in my area have 20 to 40 windows and my prices are 180 dollars to 360 dollars. Can’t imagine cleaning a home for only 45 pounds, which is 60 dollars.

    100% agreed! Theres always window cleaners out there charging £6-£10 or whatever for a house i charge £16+ for, but guess what? Ive picked up custies from other windies that charge that due to various reasons like poor reliability/efficiency/quality/professionalism...i charge what im worth, i quote my jobs generally £1 per minute, and my custies pay it, they know what they get, reliable friendly professional service...i really dont know how windies can charge 20 year old prices and have a half decent honest living unless its their hobby. Little example of what my reg custie told me: ive had someone canvas around here *shows flyer* me: oh right, not really bothered. Custie: well hes cheaper than you, but i know i get a good service from you so i dont mind payin the extra. I wasnt worried at all, i put my prices up every year, its rare i lose any due to increase. They arent just payin for their windows to be kept clean, theyre investing in u as a person, as long as u have confidence in your own ability and u carry it out its plain sailing. I bet my work gets canvassed all the time, never lose sleep over it, i know my custies will stay loyal to my service

    Hi Darren. Love the channel, wherever you are. Just wanted your ideas on something. My friend has cleaned a round for 30 years. (About £4000 a month of work) and wants to pack up. I am considering buying his round but he only charges about £8 for a 3bedroom council house. If I put everything straight up to £12 what percentage of the calls do you think I'll lose? The round will need modernising to no collecting and getting phone numbers for texting the night before.

    • @Darren-Green
      @Darren-Green  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Even if you were to lose 20% of them with a price increase of 50% from £8 to £12 it would have no impact on the value of the round at all - yes you are going to have to put in some work modernizing but remember to factor that in when deciding the value of a round before you buy.

    Bang on Darren, those going round doing £6 cleans are mugging them selves off... I charge a minimum of £35 on a first clean & I spend 1-2 hours there making sure they get what they paid for, I charge £15 on a monthly even that's about to go up to £20 why because I don't want to die poor... Six pound cleans just drag down the industry, splashing & dashing with no chems omg NOT WORTH IT... Seriously what are they playing at.... Cheap lads ar cutting us off all the time but 90% of customers are back after a while, sometimes when we estimate and customers are complaining about the price saying that their old window cleaner charged only this and this, their answer to a question "where is he?" is that he stopped coming and not taking their phonecalls anymore, I simply laugh, can't stop myself :) no wonder that he doesn't provide service anymore if he charged starvation rates to people that ripped him off and he couldn't make a living
