I do feel like my mind must be cracking, because I saw (approximately) what she saw, and that's a dangerous place to be.
I saw the person silhouette that she did, but im not far enough into Pokémon to tie to it.
I saw the same silhouette but my brain didn't go to pokemon. I saw it as a fairy or something with the lobes on either side being butterfly wings
I'm just impressed to she remembered what ANY pokemon looked like. Props to Julia

Julia's "you don't buy it for the aesthetic" makes _perfect_ sense to me, because I have tried to explain this particular ambiguity in the English language before, and for some reason no one ever understands me.
That sentence can absolutely mean two different things, based on whether the "not" is referring to the action of buying or the reason for buying.
1) you bought the mouse, but the aesthetic was _not_ the reason you made the decision
or
2) you did _not_ buy the mouse, and the aesthetic was the reason you made the decision
There's a similar ambiguity with the phrase "you can't be too" as in " you can't be too careful" or "you can't be too strict." They can either mean "there is not a limit to how careful or strict you should be" or "there _is_ a limit and you shouldn't cross it" (if the second meaning - which is less common, I believe - is hard to understand, try emphasizing the "too")

Yeah, the wording was confusing because it was exactly the same as the first statment, but meaning "you refuse to buy it, due to disliking the aesthetic"; it's gratifying to see other people undestood the intent. Language! Gotta love it :D

As a psycholinguistic researcher who specialized in ambiguity, I can actually explain why most people can't perceive these ambiguities. I hope you may find it interesting, so I'll write it out for you below.
Our minds have two simultaneous processes of interpreting incoming language. The most dominant one for most people is a streamlining suppression mechanism: once our mind picks an interpretation, the alternatives are actively suppressed in the brain for a short while so that they stop competing with the selected meaning. This selection process happens so fast, that people won't consciously notice the ambiguity ever existed.
The second language processing mechanism works through spreading activation: a network of associations spreads through our minds. Its mode of selection is a bit too complicated to explain in a youtube comment, but the important part for this topic is that it works without suppression. So more possibilities stay active long enough to reach consciousness.
People can differ in how dominant each mechanism is, with most people mostly relying on the first one. So that's why most people actually CAN'T perceive there ever was an ambiguity in the first place.

@@Dalkaen nah, we went over this back when it came out: Jacob talked about a "laughs per minute" episode coming "next week" (that was said on the 27th), and Nathan referred to one that would come out before that where he had to lay down the mic on the floor, which is something that happened during the Bobby Hill incident
I loved this episode, I wish it was longer! I'd have loved to see what Julia would draw from an ink blot.

Seeing the similarities and differences of the different interpretations for each inkblot makes me want to see a sequel episode where they do a speed draw where everyone gets the same image and has to draw characters based on that one image.

Hide randomly generated color palettes behind a multiply layer so they appear grayscale, each drawf gets assigned a palette and completes a grayscale drawing- the big reveal at the end reveals the colors of the piece! You could combine this with another prompt like background practice or a genuine fanart speed draw ~ (re-imagined tiktok “colorblind” challenge) edit: I can’t believe Nathan didn’t see the elephant!!

I'm Pavlovian trained to associate thumbnail Julia with the medieval words episode, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Jacob's intro are always like trying to herd cats, where the cats are Nathan sitting cozy on the radiator, Julia passive-aggressively starting at your plate of food and Karina being a demon-gremlin nibbling on cables and upholstery. Its a glorious mess and i wouldnt want it any other way. The fact we got Jacob and Nathan share the Drawfee braincell is adorable again until Karina just smashes it down with yet another Digimon ref'.

i was so sure nathan was gonna draw an elephant but imagine my surprise when none of the four saw an elephant at all. the drawing was awesome tho so I'm not disappointed. the colors were super cool especially

I love the thingy where one person hosts the episode and doesn't draw. I love seeing all drawings, but I also love that everyone is still there even if they don't draw.

I think it also makes sense from a batch workday standpoint. They meetup and record multiple episodes in a single day, so each hosting is like that group member's 40min "brainpower-down" break

I'm kinda surprised that Nathan didn't turn his into an elephant. It looks like tusks near the bottom with a narrow trunk and two big ears flapping out to the sides. The rest of the head I have no idea how it would look, but Nathan's a great artist with a love for elephants, so I'm sure he'd have made it work!

I’m so bummed out lol when the second blob piece came out and he started drawing a battle raccoon, I was SURE that he was going to see the same thing I did and make what eventually became the tail-arms, two jumping-foes with swords out, in cool mid-air action poses
i adore Queen Rat Pope and all the Tiny Rat details (gun) but, karina's ink blot is literally SATAM version of Dr Robotnik??? and im so distraught that no one saw him too. (also, nathan's immensely relieved and sincere "i'm SO glad you saw him too, jacob!" ( 13:08 ) about the raccoon really sent me)
julia was truly on fire this episode. but i gotta say, that breakfast at tiffany's joke sneaking in to fully obliterate the "you say run" ( 35:05 ) bit at the very end there, made me genuinely do a spit take it was so perfectly timed and unexpected
