- With the absence of Jedi Master Gnost-Dural, Keeper of the Jedi Archives, new entries must still be added to the Jedi Archives and the Galactic Timeline. The history of the ancient Sith Lords is filled with terror, and the origin of the Sith Empire lies within their exile and the lure of the darkside. The chronicle covers Ajunta Pall, XoXaan, Remulus Drepya, Karness Muur, Tulak Hord, Marka Ragnos, Naga Sadow, Freedon Nadd, Exar Kun, Ulic Qel-Droma, Gav Daragon, Jori Daragon and Darth Andeddu, all Sith who existed long before the Old Republic era. 🚩 Who was Ajunta Paul?
After discovering the secret of creating and shaping life thousands of years before Star Wars: The Old Republic‘s timeline, Ajunta Pall was labelled a pawn of the darkside by the Jedi Order. In anger, Ajunta Pall declared war on the Jedi Order, and created the conflict known as the “Hundred-Year Darkness”. After ten decades of fighting, Ajunta Pall and his dark followers, including Xoxaan, Karness Murr, and Remulus Dreypa, were defeated, and exiled. In their search for a new home, the exiles discovered Korriban, and the force-sensitive red-skinned Sith. There, Ajunta Pall became the first Lord of the Sith, and founded the Sith Empire. During the expansion of the Sith Empire, they found the planet of Ziost, and chose it to be the capital of the Sith Empire.
(After his death hundreds of years later, Ajunta Pall’s body was returned to Korriban’s tombs, where his spirit would be found thousands of years later by Revan in Knights of the Old Republic. Imperial players can also visit Ajunta Pall’s tomb on Korriban.)
🚩 Who was Xoxaan?
One of the followers of Ajunta Pall who wanted to explore the dark side of the force, XoXaan was a pale-skinned humanoid who was exiled from the Republic after the Hundred Years of Darkness where she fought alongside Karness Muur and Remulus Dreypa. She and Ajunta Pall’s fallen Jedi were the foudners of Korriban, and she was christened as the first of the Sith Lords. Though other Sith Lords possessed similar talents, XoXaan was noted amongst her peers for her skills in dark side healing, which was passed on via a holocron which was hidden in her tomb in the Valley of the Dark Lords.
🚩 Remulus Dreypa was a Jedi Admiral who also fell to the dark side during the Hundred-Year Darkness, and followed the other exiled dark Jedi to Korriban and became an admiral of the Dark Jedi fleet. Dreypa played an important role in the developement of the Sith Order and Sith Philosophy - he believed that a true Sith should only live for themselves and that caring for others made one a slave of other individuals. During time life among the Sith, Dreypa also created oubliettes which would cause a being inside it to endure a living death. He was also a Master at Force Lightnimg. Some years later, having increased their dark powers and strengthened their dominion over the Sith, Dreypa and some of his fellow exiles decided that it was time to take their revenge on the Jedi Order and their weak Republic. They then assembled a strike force, gathering their new armies and their twisted Sith beasts.
However, Dreypa and his forces came across a Jedi patrol, and after a pursuit across the galaxy, the Jedi and Sith ships crash landed on Kesh, where the space battle became a tremendous clash of lightsabers and Force powers. Dreypa and his Jedi adversaries fought with an unparalleled ferocity, devastating the planet by using all the weapons at their disposal including twisted Leviathan monsters.
Horrified by the extent of the damage and the destructive impact of the conflict on Kesh and its inhabitants, his own Dark Jedi allies turned against him. In the end they sealed the Sith Lord in his own living death oubliette and formed a truce with their former Jedi opponents.

* Marka Ragnos was a descendant of AJUNTA PALL... not Naga Sadow, who was the Sith who fought at his funeral and won. (typo)

* Lightsabers vs Swords vs Powerpacks - The lore and official images is all over the place concerning what the Exiled Dark Jedi had for weapons. There's a mix of all options in this video. As for the exact weapons, SWTOR (the game shown in this video) only has so much available.

Nice work I have loved this game since it was released, but this is good work and by using the in game visuals + artwork you have produced some very impressive results.

What I find most fascinating is that the Sith perfected the lightsaber. They found out how to arc the sabers energy in the hilt to power itself.
So this whole thing started because some studious dude "discovered the secrets of creating and shaping life", but rather than using that knowledge to help others, the Jedi excommunicated him? 🤔
So much for the "light" side.
Hehe. I'm sure there's more to the story, the comics and books have a lot more nuance than covered in this video.
Also it's not like there weren't any dark side users before Ajunta Pall. He was merely the leader of the group who first discovered the sith species (who were all dark side users) and declared himself their lord. (hence the title)
So he was the first sith lord, but the sith are only one group of darf side users among many.
They were using that stuff to basically subjugate entire civilizations.
I'm para-phrasing but like Revan said, The force existed long before the Jedi and Sith divided it, and it will exist long after they both turn to dust. It's like our concept of time, it doesn't really exist/work on the universal scale, it's a human construct.
Not quite, he was not creating new life like healing and stuff. He is like merging two creatures against their will to create monsters.

AS far as I can tell there are not many Anicent Jedi that are as cool as the Ancient Sith. The few I know of became fallen Jedi!
Yeah, there's not as many prominent ancient Jedi mentioned in Legends, and even fewer that has an armor to represent them in game. That said, when they do introduce Jedi lore armors into the game, I'll definitely send swtorista what I know about them along to her.
Needed more detail on Ulic Qel-Droma - his fall to the dark side (and redemption) was much more interesting than just "he played with Sith artifacts and the predictable happened." Great video though!
I'll have to dig a little deeper in to reading about Ulic Qel-Droma! So many of the sith lords had more lore than I could cover here.
Swtorista thanks for the response. 😊 I recommend “Tales of the Jedi: Dark Lords of the Sith,” and it’s sequel, “Redemption.” They still hold up pretty well, for being ~20 years old now.
Oh, absolutely. But she asked me for just the basics of his character arc, and she just chose not to expand on it like she did with the truly ancient Sith Lords.
That said, Swtorista, I'm perfectly willing to provide more information on each character when you do this again. :)

loved the video but i feel that the character you used to look like Ajunta Pall should have had a doublebladed vibroblade as in Kotor 1 you could go to Ajunta's tomb and recover the doublesided war blade he used to stay true to his character. but i still enjoyed your retelling of the ancient sith it was very interesting to learn their history

Addendum to my last post: for the record I just want people to know that I in no way want this game to be so difficult that it's like dark souls or anything I just want it to be back to the healthy ,fun, exciting ,and engaging state that it was in back in the days of shadow of Revan or even earlier... As it stands right now all PVE content on every single planet outside of the class stories ;which you really just rush through because of the ridiculously easy combat and your overpowered Companions and the unbelievably overpowered leveling system ; has literally all become irrelevant, which is truly saddening and heartbreaking because there is such a great wealth of awesome content on each planet with great side quests, excellent writing, voice acting and cutscenes Etc..#saveswtor

The most directly covered were Naga Sadow, Jori and Gav, Exar Kun, Ulic Qel-Droma and the others in the Tales of the Jedi comics. The truly ancients made cameos in comics set in future eras, cameos in books set in future eras, and in Ajunta Pall's case, KOTOR 1. Interestingly, Marka Ragnos and Freedon Nadd were essentially minor characters in the Tales of the Jedi comics, too. All their stories were fleshed out in either the pen and paper books released by West End Games and Wizards of the Coast, or in the Essential Guides to the Force.

@6:05 Incorrect. The duel between Naga Sadow and Ludo Kresh was interrupted by GIGACHAD Marka Ragnos, who returned as a force ghost, and tell them to go to their rooms.
Naga Sadow then used the broke out the captured Republic adventurer (Daragon siblings), pretend it’s a Republic invasion, and used it as a tool to gain power for his progressive wing, and named Dark Lord.
He never beat Kresh in the duel!

So far I have ajunta pall,marka ragnos,naga sado,tulak hord. I know I need freedon nadd, and darth andeddu armor set. Is there any others I'm missing?
