Goodness I’ve had chickens for a while and mine haven’t needed a fraction of what you buy for yours. No issues with mine but I only get mine from the same source and never TSC.
I have seen people give away roosters, but in general it’s discouraged because of the chance of free ones ending up as sparring “practice” for game birds that are trained for cock fighting 😔 All of my roosters have been purchased! ☺️
For your beginner video... is it possible to just own two.or three chickens? What about if you live in a development with neighbors? Do they naturally learn to stay near their coop on my property?

We have a single chicken that lives down the road from us. I walk/run almost every night and it’s always in the same yard.
