김지연 If you don’t have something nice or constructive to say, than don’t. There is a lot of hard work behind his playing for sure and I don’t understand why you would write this ?? Do you just like to make people feel bad about themselves? This attitude doesn’t make anything in his or YOUR live better so maybe reflect on that ?
This is one of my all-time favorite pieces. When i was a little kid, I heard this song and wanted to play it so bad. Now I'm learnign it, and it really feels like I've learned it before. I love it.
Thank you for accepting my request. Didn't expect this clear, exact performance! Slow version guides how to practice this piece. One more burdensome request. I really enjoys listening straight version of famous repertoire. By 'straight' I mean for example, elgar cello concerto with 'piano' accompaniment, grieg cello sonata 'without accompaniment'. When accompaniment is reduced or removed, cello's mellodic appeal step forward and pluck my heart in a different way, which couldn't be derived from 'all-set' EMI recordings. It provides me with a will to keep studying cello. Also I guess this is what partly explains the attractiveness of your youtube uploads, setting aside your high playing level, recording technique. To conclude, I want 1st mvt of Chopin cello sonata, without accompaniment. Seems like this channel is for beginner students of your cello studio, but occasional excursion to high-level repertoire would be beneficial to both me and your students too! Thanks.
I am only ten years old and I have no clue how but I play this almost as fast as you! It was probably because I practiced a lot. Everybody should just build up part by part and eventually you’ll get it!
Awesome at tempo performance, but the slow one will teach volumes to cellists young and old. I"m a bassist who tunes in 5ths and who wants to play that. I can see it really is possible for me to do. Do the piece at low tempo the fabled 10,000 times.
Thank you for sharing so many great and helpful videos! This one particularly helped me very much with learning Tarantella of course! If you accept requests, I'd live very much to ear and see you play Bourrée also by Squire! :) My 8 year old daughter will be learning it in a couple of weeks (we've been watching a lot your Webster's Sherzo that she learned last summer!), and I love your videos also because I accompany her on piano, and this is great for piano accompaniment practice! And I find it hard to find as clear with great tone and sound versions, not to mention the great video quality with perfect hands view...! Thanks again and keep up your awesome work!! :)
I love your videos, they help me so much! Especially on nyssma, I’m doing tarantella level 5 this year and this helped me a lot. My favorite part is at 1:05. Thank you!

I am learning French at the moment and can start little conversations, je 12 ans et je viens de Nouvelle-Zélande. j'aime écouter ta musique👍🏼
Thank you so much! I was actually born in Russia and now live in USA. I guess I used google translate to reply to those comments. I am so happy to be a part of your family's music life. Please stay safe and sound!
I love this song! Are there any other such cheerful and lively pieces for the cello? That would help me a lot. I have great difficulty finding anything in that direction.
If you like this Tarantella, I would recommend working on other pieces by Squire. Works of Goens are of somewhat similar style too. Goltermann Adagio and Allegro / Capriccio are worth trying too. All of this music is free on www.imslp.org
Experiencing hand pain while playing the cello, especially as a beginner, is not uncommon. When I first started playing, I often found that prolonged practice sessions led to discomfort in my right hand. This was usually due to a combination of factors such as a tense bow grip and inadequate breaks during practice. Ensuring a relaxed grip and taking regular breaks to rest and stretch can significantly alleviate this issue. Also, proper bowing technique and ergonomics are crucial. As I learned to adjust my posture and technique, the discomfort gradually subsided.
