It's in continuity with G1... but it's not really G1. Heck, it even came after G2. But that's pedantic anyway, because the real reason they should've been able to reference Beast Wars is because, y'know, it's the Beast Wars sequel. And the reason they had such a mandate has little to do with continuity and probably all to do with nostalgia and some weird form of brand recognition in some way.

I wonder if the series went this way we'd still have the "woe is Waspinator" trope today, which got SO bad that in the Windblade special when she and Chromia were trying to find Waspinator to ask him something he IMMEDIATELY tried running away because he automatically assumed they wanted to hurt him.
I love how Waspinator is unironically MVP, given he not only kills Starscream for good but turns the tide of the battle with the energy pulse...and lives.
Brilliant. I legitimately had to pause multiple times to process some of your genius writing decisions. The only feedback I have after a first viewing is that I would add a line or two about Night Viper originally being a Predacon, both to drive home the fact that both factions are in this together, and as a nod to the original plan for the character (and his Uprising depiction). Also, now I _really_ want to make digibashes Beast Machines Waspinator and the Starscream Aero Drone.
This is a very well thought out rewrite, kudos. I am a bit disappointed by the less spiritual tone though. Transformer's spirituality fascinates me, as I think it's one of the things that make them feel like life forms rather than just robots. I understand that the OG Beast Machines fumbled that ball, but it still interests me

And I know you never mentioned this in the video, but given your thoughts on it, there is most likely zero Maximal infighting, excluding the instances where Optimus butted heads with Cheetor and Saberclaw, but even that is just characters with strong leadership skills trying to decide the best course off action. Edit: Also, I just finished re-watching Code of Hero, and I can confirm that the beak on the modified Airazor model you're using for Rav does in fact have a moving beak.

Yes! I like to think that Sabreclaw is a bit like Dinobot, an honorable warrior but with a somewhat warmer personality; despite being a Predacon, he was the main benefactor to the idea that it doesn’t matter whether the Survivors are Maximal or Predacon, they must survive, period.

This may very well be the most heartwarming fanfic I have ever seen. Not just for beast machines, but for transformers in general, and i’m not even done watching the video, at the time of me commenting this.
Here are some possible character building: - Saber Claw was once a Cybertronian Cop but became disgruntled with the Maximal High Council and the government for abusing Predacons. - Night Viper was a bully victim of Maximals who made him choose a Snake form to make him close to be a Decepticon and having no arms and legs means he's useless.
I’m actually thinking of writing my own version of Beast Machines, and this video has given me a lot of inspiration. I will tell one of my changes. When I first watched the show, Tankor’s reveal as Rhinox always bothered me, not just for the obvious reasons. I feel like the role would have made much more sense if Tankor was revealed to be Shockwave. Imagine that! Have something similar to the scene where Optimus finds Rhinox’s spark, but instead of Rhinox emerging, the Cybertron Guard insignia fades in. Primal is horrified, knowing who this is. Back with the other Maximals, the body of Tankor arises not with the voice of their old friend, but the monotone voice of a feared Decepticon commander. Shockwave agrees with Megatron’s idea of Vehicons, but wants to do it his own way.
As much as I don’t mind the change I do think Optimus Primal should’ve sacrificed himself as well by being the one to shepherd Megatron into the matrix because seeing both leaders die in the cartoon was a nice touch
I would sent waspinator to cybertron in a diferent way. He waited and when g1 great war happen he used a space bridge or something He was small they never notice him
While not much of a compliment, I definitely like your story more than the actual story of Beast Machines. Especially what you did with Silverbolt, Rhinox, and Waspinator. I really liked your personal challenges to try and fit within the limitations the show itself had when producing it. Funnily enough, and feel free to correct me if I am mistaken, but I think you actually went under budget, since Noble/Savage were two separate, unique, models I think you actually had a spare character model to work with, or at least used the budget from it for something else.
I wonder how the transformers series would have continued had this been the story of Beast machines back when it began. Would we have started the reboot train? Would the live action movies have occurred? Would generations ever occur? Fascinating stuff in my opinion

Awesome video, I saved it for a long trip, and it was worth it. Waspinator's redemption was really cool, the Return of Starscream is always a treat, Beastwars Galvatron's body is a pretty fitting body for this Megatron, and I really like the direction you put Obsidian & Strika in. I am however a bit confused on the Cybertronian maximals having beast modes? I thought the implication was that the Maximals & Predacons didn't naturally have organic modes, rather it was only when they traveled to earth when that became a thing. Granted if these Beast Modes are more metallic similar to the G1 Dinobots & Predacons, than I can accept that.
If it wasn't already 80 minutes I'd have explained in more detail. It's based on the episode Call of the Wild, where we find out Maximals have a programming block that prevents the instincts of their beast mode from overtaking them, which is a random thing to have if it wasn't more common to take animal modes. I also wanted to keep to the beast theme of the generation, not only to keep to the theme, but also because it was the only way to populate Old Iacon within Mainframe's budget.
I intended to describe his transformation sequence as Tigatron's with a modified head to change the silhouette, but it slipped my mind after over an hour of talking.
Although, those first two that I mentioned were technically “what if’s”. First the super megaforce one, and now this. Any plans to rewrite ninja steel?
I love the story written for this, but I'm kinda disappointed you left out Botanica. I personally would have made her a personal keeper/Defender of the energon flowers you came up with.
Whilst I'm a little disappointed in the lack of Botanica, because she had a cool unique design and we always need more canon female Cybertronians, this is otherwise so much better than Beast Machines canon.
There was a time when I would have preferred that Waspinator remain on Earth, but your retelling of Beast Machines does him so much more justice than that, and _certainly_ more justice than what the real Beast Machines gave him. And Jetstorm's true identity was genius, especially given the mold Jetstorm's body was based on in the Beast Wars Uprising comic.
I'm going to do my own Beast Machines rewrite. I'm not going to change much because to be perfectly honest I still actually like the series as is... even with the flaws... but I'll go ahead and make a few small changes just to fix the few flaws that bothered me in this series. So, I'll go ahead and keep your idea to include a Beast Wars recap and actually start with the Maximals arriving on Cybertron. No reason for the whole memory wipe thing, no reason to set up the whole mystery of what happen to us when we came here. We'll just START there. That's all well and good, I like that idea. I'm keeping the transformation virus however, that's going to play out exactly as it did in the show just with ONE difference... instead the Vehicons throwing canisters at them it's going to be an air born thing specifically so that it makes more sense how Botanica gets infected later in the series. I'm not doing the whole we have to relearn how to transform thing because that really only effects Rattrap and it's dumb. Everyone is just going to instantly already have the ability to transform. I am however keeping that Rattrap really doesn't have any weapons in this new body and has to become a tinkerer to compensate because it gives Rattrap a nice bit of character development that I think he needed. I'm not going to get rid of Megatron's hatred for organics but I will tone it down. What I will change however is what Megatron looks like for two reasons. 1. I also hate that he was confined to the citadel and not a hands on combatant anymore. 2. I think the whole issue with him trying to separate the organics from his body was kind of dumb, especially when he ignored a really obvious solution only to do exactly that later in the series. So Megatron would right from the start have a vehicle mode and because it's the only other asset in this series, he's going to transform into the driller. That's going to be Megatron's personal vehicle mode and he's going to command the driller drones just like the other generals control their drones. I'm going to make Megatron a triple changer however because he's also still going to have his dragon mode... which actually makes the BWII Galvatron mold a really good choice since it is a triple changer with a dragon and driller mode. The scene where Optimus Primal tries to reformat Megatron is going to happen during their first encounter rather than just pissing him off that's what's going to cause him to transform into Beast Mode. Because I really don't like the Grand Maul that much, in order to fix it I'm going to make it transform like the toy again to give Megatron more to do than just float in the sky. It's also going to be smaller otherwise his robot mode would be gigantic. The switch to Optimal Megatron would still happen but he's never going to do the whole spark body hopping thing like starscream. Instead at the end of season 2 he's going to appear to have died but we're later going to find out that the body they found was a drone not the real Megatron, stealing Tankor's trick. The real Megatron will be so badly damaged that he'll require a spark transfer into a new body but still barely functional from his last fight. And instead of Optimus Megatron being really a BARELY 2 episode thing, I'd extend the series into a 3rd season. Everything with the original 3 generals will play out exactly the same as it did before with ONE difference. Tankor/Rhinox's story will play out like this. Once Rhinox's memories and intelligence are restored we're not doing the whole thing of Rhinox just CHOOSE to betray his friends, no we're making it very clear that this is still Tankor, that's still Megatron's programming that's in control here. And the reason Megatron's programming stays in control for him and not Silverbolt is a combination of 2 things. 1 being that Tankor actually started to remember who he was and joined the Maximals earlier which prompted Megatron to wipe his memory and install an extra program to prevent the same thing from happening again. The other reason is because Silverbolt was reformatted into technorganic body which reset everything while Tankor is still in a Vehicon body. I do like Tankor as an intelligent competent villain in the series I just hate that it's Rhinox so I want to make it clear that his spark is still corrupted by Megatron's programming, that he didn't choose to be evil. Obsidian and Strika I'm going to change a little bit... mostly because they're implied to be G1 characters but they're really not. Instead of making so they've just always been Obsidian and Strika, these two are going to be Optimus Prime and Elita-One. I think the idea of Megatron corrupting Optimus Prime into a villain makes this much more interesting than acting like they're important characters when they're actually names we've never heard of before. I'm also going to swap some parts around between Silverbolt and Savage/Noble's animation models. The main reason being I want Silverbolt to still be a Fuzor just a technorganic one so I want to take the wolf mode give him Silverbolts wings and change the arms to the bird legs making him quadrupedal again. The Dragon would instead transform into that bird mode but with Noble's arms in place of the bird legs and the dragon wings would stay out in both modes rather than retracting into the body. So Noble would be a bird rather than a wolf. Also new origin for Savage/Noble... I mean we've had characters who share beast modes before so it doesn't have to be related to Megatron. My preference is that Savage/Noble actually be introduced living deep below Cybertron like the tree and discovering that he's actually a fully organic transformer that inspired the Quintessons to make their own technological versions of. Because it's really important to me personally to actually do justice to the portrayal of a character with DID it's going to be revealed that Savage was only lashing out because the Vehicons attacked him first, that he's only defending himself. Savage would still be entirely mute and more feral while Noble would actually communicate the same way we saw when he was possessed by Megatron except that there's going to be no possession and that's consistently going to be how Noble is portrayed rather than a mindless animal. We will do the whole thing of Noble changing into Savage and then forgetting what happened when he changes back because that's actually accurate however we're not going to play it up like Savage is something to be afraid of. It might seem that way at first but then Primal is eventually going to realize that Savage only takes control when threatened and only lashes out defensively, never offensively because that's how it works. Something else I really want to do, because I mentioned extending it into a third season. What am I going to do with a third season you might ask. Well for one thing that's when we'd find out that Obsidian and Strika are Optimus Prime and Elita-One Their identities wouldn't really be known until then, we'd just set them up as really intelligent threats. The whole anti-grav thing wouldn't happen cause that was really dumb. It would just be a mystery who they are till season 3. The finally wouldn't be so rushed so the Maximals wouldn't all be taken out off screen and of course Optimal Megatron would be around the entire third season not just 2 episodes. We would however still have Thrust being reformatted at the end of season 2 however I will keep some of his character development from the end of Beast Wars and instead of him being super tiny he'd be a regular sized Maximal using the Buzzsaw design from the toy line and joining the Maximals. He did say he was sick of being evil and quit the Predacons at the end of Beast Wars so it actually makes sense that if he was reformatted into a technorganic body and got to be Waspinator again that he would join the Maximals. It would also add something to why he kept saving Blackarachnia earlier in the series if there was actually a pay off for him to switch sides. It would also give a pay off to Thrust calling Jetstorm his friend if Waspinator continued to view Silverbolt as a friend. There could be a short love triangle since Waspinator did flirt with Blackarachnia earlier but I think Waspinator would quickly back down from that. I would also love if his time as Thrust actually changed him a little bit so he's not completely useless and annoying when he goes back to being Waspinator but actually remains a some what competent Maximal. I would love if he stopped speaking in the third person, like if you got Scott McNeil as Waspinator to essentially adopt Thrust's dark loner bit, that would be perfect. Another thing I would change with a 3rd season... actually develop Rattrap and Botanica's relationship. Instead of having them kiss in the middle of a freaking argument have them slowly get use to each other so their relationship feels more natural. If they're not going to take the time to develop them as a couple then they just shouldn't be a couple. I freaking hate that. They're the worst couple in all of transformers because there's absolutely no lead up to it. I also want to add... the Oracle isn't going to talk... it never says anything useful or meaningful anyway so it's still going to exist it's just never going to talk. There's no reason for it to say anything if the dialog is meaningless anyway. Plus Primal repeats all it's dialog making it redundant.
I forgot something... there are 2 dropped plot points from Beast Wars I feel were never resolved that I'd want to bring back in season 3 of Beast Machines. 1. The origins of Tarantulus and Tripredacus Council and their apparent connection to the Vok. Tarantulus always seemed to know a lot more about the Vok than any other character in Beast Wars and hated them so I feel like whatever their origins were are some how connected to a previous encounter before the Beast Wars they may of had with the Vok. Might dedicate a 3 part arc to explaining that in season 3 of Beast Machines. 2. At the end of Possession there was a line eluding to a possible return of Starscream that never happened so I'd like to also bring him back during Beast Machines in an episode similar to when Megatron's spark was hopping around possessing bodies cause that felt so much like a Starscream's ghost episode I want to have that actually be Starscream who ends up in the Diagnostic Drone not Megatron.
Great idea for Megatron to turn Cybertron into a planet sized warship, even though I haven’t even watched Beast Machines. It kinda reminded me of the Dr Who 1960 serial “The Dalek Invasion of Earth.”
How would waspinator survive all of human history and then some to build a pod? I doubt he would be able to find anything with transwarp capabilities to skip all that time
In the canon series it's implied he just flew back to Cybertron on his own, no ship at all. I didn't say he survived all human history or used transwarp, I said he took a century or so to make something that could fly home.
This is 300 years after Beast Wars, they had plenty of chances to go to Earth and would have been the planet they're most familiar with. In any case, it makes more sense than random Earth animal bones being on Cybertron.
Fixes I'm making tone down the oracle (or make it more direct) I actually think making a darker optimus that realizes he's screwed up and tries to fix it is a good idea imo but the problem is half the time he feels like he doesn't know what the fuck si going on and the Oracle needs to tell him constantly what to do I don't mind the overall direction Rattrap went in but don't like HOW Meanspirited they were to him early on have Rhinox redeemd and reveal the shell fucked with him give Blackarachnea an actual plot beyond her being worried about Silverbolt reveal Silverbolt was more or lesss trapped inside his old body but aware. ofwhat was going on after Rattrap and Blackarachnea reawoke his spark reveal Waspinator is aware too but doesn't care give Botanica/Strika/Obsidian something to do cause they feel phoned in and most importantly LET THE SHOWRUNNERS/WRITERS SEE BEAST WARS IF YOU CAN'T GET BEAST WARS'S WRITERS

hearing the war world I could not help but remember Furman's War Within and Secrets and Lies mini-series.
I kinda like the idea of Waspinator having the time to sharpen his skills (I imagine having to put himself back together so many times without anyone's help will have evolved those skills too). I like that. 'We're going to blow up Waspinator', lol, figuratively this time X'D I do hope he still has the speech impediment, yes, he sounds a bit dumb, but I think it's actually good to have, especially when it's hiding a surprisingly strong mind and will power. I actually quite like the bug tics, it's very much a part of who he is. Oh yeah, and as soon as you made Thrust into Silverbolt, I knew Jetstorm had to be Starscream XD

This may very well be the most heartwarming fanfic I have ever seen. Not just for beast machines, but for transformers in general, and i’m not even done watching the video, at the time of me commenting this.
A vast improvement over the original! This one sounds like a lot more fun to watch.
I get that, but also I don't think Optimuses should always die as the end point of their stories. It gets trite.
Here are some possible character building:
- Saber Claw was once a Cybertronian Cop but became disgruntled with the Maximal High Council and the government for abusing Predacons.
- Night Viper was a bully victim of Maximals who made him choose a Snake form to make him close to be a Decepticon and having no arms and legs means he's useless.
I’m actually thinking of writing my own version of Beast Machines, and this video has given me a lot of inspiration. I will tell one of my changes. When I first watched the show, Tankor’s reveal as Rhinox always bothered me, not just for the obvious reasons. I feel like the role would have made much more sense if Tankor was revealed to be Shockwave.
Imagine that! Have something similar to the scene where Optimus finds Rhinox’s spark, but instead of Rhinox emerging, the Cybertron Guard insignia fades in. Primal is horrified, knowing who this is. Back with the other Maximals, the body of Tankor arises not with the voice of their old friend, but the monotone voice of a feared Decepticon commander. Shockwave agrees with Megatron’s idea of Vehicons, but wants to do it his own way.
I always wondered what your rewrite of Beast Machines would be, and this didn't disappoint. Thank you for giving Waspinator a GOOD ending.

As much as I don’t mind the change I do think Optimus Primal should’ve sacrificed himself as well by being the one to shepherd Megatron into the matrix because seeing both leaders die in the cartoon was a nice touch

While not much of a compliment, I definitely like your story more than the actual story of Beast Machines. Especially what you did with Silverbolt, Rhinox, and Waspinator. I really liked your personal challenges to try and fit within the limitations the show itself had when producing it.
Funnily enough, and feel free to correct me if I am mistaken, but I think you actually went under budget, since Noble/Savage were two separate, unique, models I think you actually had a spare character model to work with, or at least used the budget from it for something else.
I wish yours is the version that we got. Great job!
I wonder how the transformers series would have continued had this been the story of Beast machines back when it began. Would we have started the reboot train? Would the live action movies have occurred? Would generations ever occur? Fascinating stuff in my opinion

Awesome video, I saved it for a long trip, and it was worth it. Waspinator's redemption was really cool, the Return of Starscream is always a treat, Beastwars Galvatron's body is a pretty fitting body for this Megatron, and I really like the direction you put Obsidian & Strika in. I am however a bit confused on the Cybertronian maximals having beast modes? I thought the implication was that the Maximals & Predacons didn't naturally have organic modes, rather it was only when they traveled to earth when that became a thing. Granted if these Beast Modes are more metallic similar to the G1 Dinobots & Predacons, than I can accept that.
If it wasn't already 80 minutes I'd have explained in more detail. It's based on the episode Call of the Wild, where we find out Maximals have a programming block that prevents the instincts of their beast mode from overtaking them, which is a random thing to have if it wasn't more common to take animal modes. I also wanted to keep to the beast theme of the generation, not only to keep to the theme, but also because it was the only way to populate Old Iacon within Mainframe's budget.

To be fair, Saber Claw's robot mode could be a retool of the Cheetor/Tigatron model. Just swap the cat face on the chest and there you go.
I intended to describe his transformation sequence as Tigatron's with a modified head to change the silhouette, but it slipped my mind after over an hour of talking.

I love the story written for this, but I'm kinda disappointed you left out Botanica. I personally would have made her a personal keeper/Defender of the energon flowers you came up with.
The only extra addition id make is the end facility should be the rhinox facility as a way primal could give honor to his death
Whilst I'm a little disappointed in the lack of Botanica, because she had a cool unique design and we always need more canon female Cybertronians, this is otherwise so much better than Beast Machines canon.
The rewrite could be better in a comic book adaptation.

There was a time when I would have preferred that Waspinator remain on Earth, but your retelling of Beast Machines does him so much more justice than that, and _certainly_ more justice than what the real Beast Machines gave him. And Jetstorm's true identity was genius, especially given the mold Jetstorm's body was based on in the Beast Wars Uprising comic.
Not gonna lie, I'd definitely read a comic based around your idea!
I have been waiting for this moment.
I'm going to do my own Beast Machines rewrite. I'm not going to change much because to be perfectly honest I still actually like the series as is... even with the flaws... but I'll go ahead and make a few small changes just to fix the few flaws that bothered me in this series.
So, I'll go ahead and keep your idea to include a Beast Wars recap and actually start with the Maximals arriving on Cybertron. No reason for the whole memory wipe thing, no reason to set up the whole mystery of what happen to us when we came here. We'll just START there. That's all well and good, I like that idea.
I'm keeping the transformation virus however, that's going to play out exactly as it did in the show just with ONE difference... instead the Vehicons throwing canisters at them it's going to be an air born thing specifically so that it makes more sense how Botanica gets infected later in the series.
I'm not doing the whole we have to relearn how to transform thing because that really only effects Rattrap and it's dumb. Everyone is just going to instantly already have the ability to transform. I am however keeping that Rattrap really doesn't have any weapons in this new body and has to become a tinkerer to compensate because it gives Rattrap a nice bit of character development that I think he needed.
I'm not going to get rid of Megatron's hatred for organics but I will tone it down. What I will change however is what Megatron looks like for two reasons. 1. I also hate that he was confined to the citadel and not a hands on combatant anymore. 2. I think the whole issue with him trying to separate the organics from his body was kind of dumb, especially when he ignored a really obvious solution only to do exactly that later in the series. So Megatron would right from the start have a vehicle mode and because it's the only other asset in this series, he's going to transform into the driller. That's going to be Megatron's personal vehicle mode and he's going to command the driller drones just like the other generals control their drones. I'm going to make Megatron a triple changer however because he's also still going to have his dragon mode... which actually makes the BWII Galvatron mold a really good choice since it is a triple changer with a dragon and driller mode. The scene where Optimus Primal tries to reformat Megatron is going to happen during their first encounter rather than just pissing him off that's what's going to cause him to transform into Beast Mode.
Because I really don't like the Grand Maul that much, in order to fix it I'm going to make it transform like the toy again to give Megatron more to do than just float in the sky. It's also going to be smaller otherwise his robot mode would be gigantic.
The switch to Optimal Megatron would still happen but he's never going to do the whole spark body hopping thing like starscream. Instead at the end of season 2 he's going to appear to have died but we're later going to find out that the body they found was a drone not the real Megatron, stealing Tankor's trick. The real Megatron will be so badly damaged that he'll require a spark transfer into a new body but still barely functional from his last fight. And instead of Optimus Megatron being really a BARELY 2 episode thing, I'd extend the series into a 3rd season.
Everything with the original 3 generals will play out exactly the same as it did before with ONE difference. Tankor/Rhinox's story will play out like this. Once Rhinox's memories and intelligence are restored we're not doing the whole thing of Rhinox just CHOOSE to betray his friends, no we're making it very clear that this is still Tankor, that's still Megatron's programming that's in control here. And the reason Megatron's programming stays in control for him and not Silverbolt is a combination of 2 things. 1 being that Tankor actually started to remember who he was and joined the Maximals earlier which prompted Megatron to wipe his memory and install an extra program to prevent the same thing from happening again. The other reason is because Silverbolt was reformatted into technorganic body which reset everything while Tankor is still in a Vehicon body. I do like Tankor as an intelligent competent villain in the series I just hate that it's Rhinox so I want to make it clear that his spark is still corrupted by Megatron's programming, that he didn't choose to be evil.
Obsidian and Strika I'm going to change a little bit... mostly because they're implied to be G1 characters but they're really not. Instead of making so they've just always been Obsidian and Strika, these two are going to be Optimus Prime and Elita-One. I think the idea of Megatron corrupting Optimus Prime into a villain makes this much more interesting than acting like they're important characters when they're actually names we've never heard of before.
I'm also going to swap some parts around between Silverbolt and Savage/Noble's animation models. The main reason being I want Silverbolt to still be a Fuzor just a technorganic one so I want to take the wolf mode give him Silverbolts wings and change the arms to the bird legs making him quadrupedal again. The Dragon would instead transform into that bird mode but with Noble's arms in place of the bird legs and the dragon wings would stay out in both modes rather than retracting into the body. So Noble would be a bird rather than a wolf. Also new origin for Savage/Noble... I mean we've had characters who share beast modes before so it doesn't have to be related to Megatron. My preference is that Savage/Noble actually be introduced living deep below Cybertron like the tree and discovering that he's actually a fully organic transformer that inspired the Quintessons to make their own technological versions of.
Because it's really important to me personally to actually do justice to the portrayal of a character with DID it's going to be revealed that Savage was only lashing out because the Vehicons attacked him first, that he's only defending himself. Savage would still be entirely mute and more feral while Noble would actually communicate the same way we saw when he was possessed by Megatron except that there's going to be no possession and that's consistently going to be how Noble is portrayed rather than a mindless animal. We will do the whole thing of Noble changing into Savage and then forgetting what happened when he changes back because that's actually accurate however we're not going to play it up like Savage is something to be afraid of. It might seem that way at first but then Primal is eventually going to realize that Savage only takes control when threatened and only lashes out defensively, never offensively because that's how it works.
Something else I really want to do, because I mentioned extending it into a third season. What am I going to do with a third season you might ask. Well for one thing that's when we'd find out that Obsidian and Strika are Optimus Prime and Elita-One Their identities wouldn't really be known until then, we'd just set them up as really intelligent threats. The whole anti-grav thing wouldn't happen cause that was really dumb. It would just be a mystery who they are till season 3. The finally wouldn't be so rushed so the Maximals wouldn't all be taken out off screen and of course Optimal Megatron would be around the entire third season not just 2 episodes. We would however still have Thrust being reformatted at the end of season 2 however I will keep some of his character development from the end of Beast Wars and instead of him being super tiny he'd be a regular sized Maximal using the Buzzsaw design from the toy line and joining the Maximals. He did say he was sick of being evil and quit the Predacons at the end of Beast Wars so it actually makes sense that if he was reformatted into a technorganic body and got to be Waspinator again that he would join the Maximals. It would also add something to why he kept saving Blackarachnia earlier in the series if there was actually a pay off for him to switch sides. It would also give a pay off to Thrust calling Jetstorm his friend if Waspinator continued to view Silverbolt as a friend. There could be a short love triangle since Waspinator did flirt with Blackarachnia earlier but I think Waspinator would quickly back down from that. I would also love if his time as Thrust actually changed him a little bit so he's not completely useless and annoying when he goes back to being Waspinator but actually remains a some what competent Maximal. I would love if he stopped speaking in the third person, like if you got Scott McNeil as Waspinator to essentially adopt Thrust's dark loner bit, that would be perfect.
Another thing I would change with a 3rd season... actually develop Rattrap and Botanica's relationship. Instead of having them kiss in the middle of a freaking argument have them slowly get use to each other so their relationship feels more natural. If they're not going to take the time to develop them as a couple then they just shouldn't be a couple. I freaking hate that. They're the worst couple in all of transformers because there's absolutely no lead up to it.
I also want to add... the Oracle isn't going to talk... it never says anything useful or meaningful anyway so it's still going to exist it's just never going to talk. There's no reason for it to say anything if the dialog is meaningless anyway. Plus Primal repeats all it's dialog making it redundant.
I forgot something... there are 2 dropped plot points from Beast Wars I feel were never resolved that I'd want to bring back in season 3 of Beast Machines.
1. The origins of Tarantulus and Tripredacus Council and their apparent connection to the Vok. Tarantulus always seemed to know a lot more about the Vok than any other character in Beast Wars and hated them so I feel like whatever their origins were are some how connected to a previous encounter before the Beast Wars they may of had with the Vok. Might dedicate a 3 part arc to explaining that in season 3 of Beast Machines.
2. At the end of Possession there was a line eluding to a possible return of Starscream that never happened so I'd like to also bring him back during Beast Machines in an episode similar to when Megatron's spark was hopping around possessing bodies cause that felt so much like a Starscream's ghost episode I want to have that actually be Starscream who ends up in the Diagnostic Drone not Megatron.

How would waspinator survive all of human history and then some to build a pod? I doubt he would be able to find anything with transwarp capabilities to skip all that time
In the canon series it's implied he just flew back to Cybertron on his own, no ship at all. I didn't say he survived all human history or used transwarp, I said he took a century or so to make something that could fly home.

We know from Changing of the Guard that the wreckage of the Axalon is salvagable. I would just say he grabbed the transwarp cell from there.
why were the old iacon beast former's earth animals instead of alien animals because they never went to earth
This is 300 years after Beast Wars, they had plenty of chances to go to Earth and would have been the planet they're most familiar with. In any case, it makes more sense than random Earth animal bones being on Cybertron.
