thanks dude this dlc has been a pain in the ass in the Directors Cut, shit is forced on you halfway thru the game and I just wanna get back and beat the main story
Many thanks for this guide. I've been following your ghost playthrough for the whole game, but this dlc part in particular was one I did not want to have to revisit again so getting all 10 achievements in one run was great! You're unbelievable at this game man haha, some of the time saving tricks were hard to replicate!
They didn't "injected it" as you say, they just made the game complete adding that missing part to the core game cos in the core game there wasn't clear where Jensen was for a long period of time.
@@artmanrom they turned the Missing Link DLC into a mandatory chapter in the Director's Cut, which meant being detected or killing anyone during this segment counts against the "Pacifist" and the "Foxiest of the Hounds" achievements/trophies, so yeah they did kinda inject it into the main game
Achievements: In case this is helpful to anyone playing the Director's Cut. I was able to get all of the achievements in one run. Unlike in the video, I did pick up the weapons to the right of the equipment at the 6:38 mark in the video. I was paranoid about this because it immediately unholstered a weapon (which is apparently a no-no) but this did not count against me. (There is also another spot later on when a scripted alarm starts where my weapon spontaneously unholstered - that apparently did not count against me either). I was NOT able to move that crate at 43:00. Instead (thankfully it worked) at the ~1:19:00 mark I took down all the enemies stealthily (with some energy bars) on each level and at the bottom. This left me with about 3 minutes on the timer. I then did the part at 1:21:23 offering a decision, which I chose to avoid making. I then used a couple explosive barrels to blow up that box (which is why I cleared everyone out first to avoid kills or hostile status). I was worried this would void the achievement for using explosives, but it ultimately did not. I still had enough time to carry the boxes and fire extinguisher through that vent to climb up. I should note, that when first encountering the vent at the 43:00 mark I took time to move that extinguisher and boxes relatively near to the vent (but not very close in case the later explosion would damage them) so they would be easier to quickly get when the timer was running.
Never thought the identity of Janus would be revealed in this way in DXHR where he played a more prominent role in DXMD. Never used CASIE on Quinn before. Thanks man
well, DXTF is where he plays the prominent role chronologically, 2 times in the game, and probably made more appearances if the later parts of the game weren't left unreleased.
I managed to get the jar and nothing else by crouching to the left and looking right - that gave me an angle between the grenade and the upgrade. Great walkthrough! Though I think the patrol patterns for the top level of guards at the end has changed; I had to knock out the guys at the beginning to get through.
:) At 1:33:35 one of the game mistakes cos even the enemies were "alarmed" (meaning they have not seen him only knowing he was just somewhere in the base), yet the mini-boss Burke is greeting Jensen: "Finally you made it!"
Hey for anyone doing this I highly recommend you save a lot and don’t overwrite your saves keep each one enough apart in case you have to pregame something. When saving the whistleblower and the prisoners you need to pregame that blow up the crate blocking the vent by throwing a red barrel at it also you need 2 boxes inside so you can jump on the pipe and onto the platform. I won’t be able to get it on this run but for others. 😅
i have to admit, in the last area with burke and his team, i shot them all in the head with my silenced 10mm. i was soooo sick of sneaking around :) oh and i popped the robot with an emp nade :)
Alan Doe I wanted to do that but I was on a non lethal run so my fully upgraded 10mm was for cameras and turrets only after some alarm hacking, this weapon is good, if you don't want the no alarm trophy and you hadn't invest in hacking augs I think it's a good complementary to the stun gun and the tranquilizer riffle: takes little space, cheap, and useful ;)
It's a pity you can't save Netanya... Btw., if you knock the guards unconcious, she'll comment on that, but if you visit her without being seen at all and don't knock anyone down, she still reacts as if they have been killed.
Come on man,I know you've used a ghost mod/cheatcode otherwise being right in front of those guards they fuckin definitely seen you, playin on pc help with cheatin init?Bloody good vid dude, respect to you.Big up your chest son! ;-)
:) At course you do, (I did them on a new game + too), especially that for "factory reset" you can't use any praxis point and hence any of Jensen's "augmentations".
:) Probably cos it's on the stand alone dlc. I have started to re-play "director's cut" got on GOG on a huge sale (less than 4 euros) and the enemies are super-sensitives hearing you and seeing you from a mile away. For instance that crossing at 1:31:50 would be impossible in director's cut like in this video, and it's the most difficult if you wish to achieve at once both "factory reset" and "foxiest of the hounds" achievements cos even when that machine gunner is turned with the back there's that guy a bit far away who's always looking in that direction and spots you immediately. The solution (as shown in a TH-cam video walkthrough for this chapter (director's cut version) is to carry a crate and hide behind it whilst the machine-gunner is with the back at you. Also in director's cut that big dude is walking much closer and for a shorter period of time than in the stand alone dlc.

I tried the glitch with box movement but it seems to be patched in Directors cut. Does it effect the Achievement? Cuz I swear to gods I'll have no chance if that count as a kill. Plus the turret at the end is super triggery and I refuse to scale down from Give me Deus Ex difficulty. I also noticed that original amd directors cut have differentces in radiant and colour plus when you speak with Quinn for who to gas first, in Directors cut it only shows red screen no blue cube face. Eh I'll replay it anyway. I need to slaughter everything. Thanks to your guide I released the sheer stupidity of the AI sometimes.
Thanks for the vid dude. I'm using this to occasionally check how I have to go in this boring ass DLC. I just wish this was a skippable option in the director's cut.
This is amazing but its also silly how you can crouch right next to someone and not have them notice you lol. These guys have no peripheral vision at all!
Knockout the three guards then find the crates (two is at the door you go in the area first, the third somewhere at the same floor) thrown it to the big crate. (To knockout the guards whitout being seen wait for the two guards to split up.) Sorry if there any misspelled word in this, i just not good at english.
Why the mines don't blow up, there is a skill that i don't know? This would made my run way less frustrating, btw great playthrough and smart move with the fire extinguisher. p.s When you could not extract the energy jar, I felt that ahah.
You need to approach them as slowly as the game allows: 1) crouch, 2) turn off running mode, and 3) press the walk button (shift key with PC) while moving. This way you can get close enough to disarm them before they detonate.
It would, but since I already have the achievement, and all other gameplay challenges are done, I just threw it in for the more interesting conversation. You can just not take it at the end and get the achievement.
he skips parts of the walkthrough.... i have to retrieve my gear before i can go with the escape-capsule after the boss fight... so were can i find. You completly skip this ???????????
Anyone else find it funny how it's the Asian characters in games/movies that usually fuck over the main character(s)? One example is here...another would be The Hangover.
This is one of the worst DLCs I've ever played for any game. I can't believe they hard coded it into the Director's Cut. I almost don't even want to finish the game now because I have to get through this levle. I'm following this walkthrough to the T because it's the only way I can get through it. I have to do it in sittings though, the level is too bad to play at once, I'm getting cancer. How did this even get made?
What I did is make 2 save files, one before and one after the Missing Link. That way I can play through the entire game, skip the Missing Link, and pick up where I left off.
I played on the higher difficulty "give me deus ex" in a stealth ko/hacking/non lethal way...so this part was hard for me, because I used stealth augs like invisibility/reduced sounds and multiple KO with energy bars augs...so in this part in director's cut edition I was almost discouraged, but I succeeded without killing one single enemy, kinda hard, with these dumb guards walking on frag mines at the end 😂
