With you Thomas 100%. I have seen Phil numbers of times, always incredible. I saw Matthew at the Jackson Hole Christian Center once. @@hackednhanoied Just one of his best. I had read somewhere a long time ago that he wrote that song early on. Like maybe in the Glass Harp days and it was about a women. And that added and or, changed a few things to make it about the Lord. When you first listen, it can sound like a regular love song, in fact, much of it does. But what he added made it a love song to Jesus. I kind of think it's partially to his wife but mostly about the Lord. I got to chat with Randy Stonehill after a concert a couple years ago. He talked a little about Phil Keaggy. He said, "He just keeps getting better. It's not fair....."
Matthew Ward..wow what a Fabulous voice! And the 2 gals are so beautiful and sing like birds. And Phil Keaggy the energetic man . I wish I could have watched this whole concert. Anyone have more of this concert?
Phil Keaggy must be one of the top 10 guitar players right along with Jimmy Hendrix, Clapton and Jimmy Page. Apparently the fact that he never played in a supergroup and that he became a Christian early on was a negative for the critics.
This is great, but the one I really want to see is "Time" from this same concert tour. Phil's ending solo on that is still my favorite out of all the variations I have ever heard of that song. I would so love to actually see it performed!
Matthew Ward a fantastic singer as were his sisters. I was a huge Keaggy fan for many years too. Saw him do an acoustic gig at Bethel close to Minneapolis. He brought the house down as a single act on the acoustic guitar. Thanks Phil...
I agree with the last comment. Especially this when the west was won cd !!!!! I used to do my Ironing and dance to it while I ironed!!! It lifts my heart up up up!
I heard a stairway like line in there near the end and he is playing a les paul. I see there Phil was having some wrist pain .. clearly he got over it. Truly blessed !

The second part aired a week later with the band doing Phil's songs. While this was recorded earlier, the broadcast was in 1982 or 1983. Love that voice, love that guitar! Would have been cool to see them at Woodstock rather than in the mediocre ghetto of “Christian Rock”. I am 60 and I think that was such a weird era of music. I have been a follower of Jesus since my teens and used to enthusiastically embrace every Christian band going. I still have many of the old albums but kind of cringe when I think about how we paid money to watch mediocre rock bands give us grief for how lukewarm we and the church in general were….. I think many of these bands were just grumpy because they were not making enough money to survive ……..🧐
To this day, after so many years THIS is the song and This is the guitar solo that forever made me a Keaggy fan
