Thanks for your video. It worked perfectly the first time, I did use a digitrax 136 and I just barely trimmed the weight to fit it in snuggly. But it works real good. Thanks again

Hello Jason, Great video. I did the same fitting but added a LED light that I programmed with the decoder to flash when the motor is going in a clockwise direction (forward) and not illuminate when going in reverse. I found it handy as the vacuum sucks better in the forward direction rather than reverse. The flashing light also looks cool as it travels around the layout.

Can you tell me what LEDs you installed and where you put them? Great idea. Especially since whatever decoder you use there are two extra wires.

@@JonathanRBermanMDBocaRaton I put the LED in the hole that the discarded control knob goes in (see video at 8:10). I used a 3mm red LED with a 1k resistor and drilled a hole in the side of the tube that the control knob sits in to get the wires from the decoder around the weight and into that cylinder. I put some silicon in the hole once the LED was in place and tested ok. Hope that helps.

The weight is a check valve, used to keep dirt from exiting the bin when off. That would be my guess.

Eh! No, it's something to do with the system that puts cleaning fluid on the track.

Couldn't the chip have gone in the gap between the motor and the cleaning fluid tank?

If your completely removed the capacitor legs then the red and black could have been soldered through the holes left by the capacitor....

omg,the worst 'how to' clip ive ever seen.before you make a video, at least make sure it can be done.can't see for your hands,Using a Dremel, but not showing us what your dremeling (bad spelling),not discussing if there is a proper order where the wires are soldered in respect of polarity etc to the motor. And NO, i couldn't do one of these clips, because of issues above, so i don't even attempt it.
