Is Melissa related to Cameron? Love your videos since i cannot ride anymore due to illness its lovely to watch your journey with Harley. Much love ❤️ 🐴❤
Those problems you described with your airy fairy contact, letting him out the front door and fall out through his shoulder are exactly what I'm struggling with at the moment. I'm very conscious to not be hanging on his mouth and be too harsh with my hands, but I think maybe I'm not giving him enough to work into?
I totally, totally get this. It’s a fine balance. I’m exactly the same and it’s taken a while for me to get it and not throw the contact away in a bid to be “kinder” (really I was just throwing his balance away and then asking an impossible question with the rest of my aids) - my best advice is to work with a coach who can help you “get to” those moments so you can feel it for yourself ❤️
I really love your vlogs, I have have always dreamed about being a horse rider and I’m telling my mum to make me some lessons so she sighed me up, but I was wondering if there is any tips for your horses or horse and I’m still quite young im 13 so will I have a little horse or will it be fine with the taller horses?
How exciting that you are starting lessons! The riding school will decide which horses or ponies to put you on and they'll give you a little feel of some different types of horses, too. Enjoy them!
Hi Rhi 😊 just wondering how tall you are? My husband’s horse is 16hh & I’m 5’4. I find it difficult to tack up & groom him haha 😜 you make it look easy!
Hi what transport do you have ? I’m desperate to get a trailer/horse box so we can go out and explore new places together 😁I’d love to be able to do arena hires and maybe one day local level dressage tests xx
Yes, definitely. Getting to know Harley, finding our “routines”, trusting him and he trusting me and choosing environments that will give us positive experiences - eg. With instructors I know, in quiet places, doing stuff that’s in my comfort zone etc. the premier performance calming cookies (horse and human) were also helpful in this!
Just thinking about how Harley has grown. My horse hasn't been properly measured but I think he's basically the same height, maybe half an inch taller. He was rising seven years old when he became mine and he'll be sixteen in September. He's definitely a heftier horse now than when I first got him. I think that Harley will do the same thing. As nice hefty lad as he matures into his body. On a side note, I think that you are somewhat taller than me. My horse towers over me.

We hire local transport, I don’t have my own ❤️
Would you say that feeling relaxed whilst riding off property came with experience/ repetition?

Yes I think you’re right - he’s filling out but there’s more to go! I’m about 5”6 and a half 🥰
