Dear John, I had not seen this video of yours until now. It is fantastic luck that he has had, but also his field work and his good work have achieved this unique image. I want to congratulate you and of course thank you for sharing your knowledge through your TH-cam channel. An excellent photo and a didactic and explanatory video thanks also to the recordings of his small browning camera. Thank you very much.
Congratulations Jhon your photos are beautiful, your results are incredible with the trap cameras I accompany you here in Brazil I'm setting up mine for records in the Atlantic Forest. Thank you for sharing
Just found your channel!!! Fantastic my friend what a capture!!!! Incredible hard work into getting that capture !!!! Stunning!! I also am passionate with trail cameras ! I use browning like you I have some amazing captures over the years ! But sadly I’m not allowed to post on the internet! As I have a permit & not allowed to post on internet!!So wish I could share with you !! Love your channel! Top work !!!!
A very generous helping of good fortune there John. But as I always say, the amount of luck a person gets is in proportion to the amount of time and effort they put in! So you really deserved the result you achieved. Congrats on the award. A fantastic image.
Thanks very much Robert. That's very true. I vaguely remember a famous golfer in a post tournament interview replying to a journalist who had accused him of being lucky, by saying " I find the more I practice, the luckier I seem to get". 😉
@@JohnFormstone hello John, I wondered if you could help me with a little info. Recently the trail camera I've been using has died. It was a Bushnell. There are so many models on the market these days that it can be a bit of a pain choosing a new one. There seems to be a lot more at the lower price range and although I have always gone by the maxim that inexpensive equals cheap rubbish, I feel that these days that is not always the case. All I use it for is guidance on what wildlife is in an area so I don't really need too many bells and whistles. Do you have any recommendations that you can make?
Hi Robert. apart from the couple of Brownings I have, I also use a Campark T20 mini trail camera, that i picked up new on Ebay around a year ago, they are now usually sold as 2x units for around £70-80. The build quality is not the same as your old trail cam, but to be honest for the price I thought i would take a punt. I have been pleasantly surprised with the video output which is decent by day and nice and contrasty by night. It has a nice wide angle field of view, a reasonably quick trigger time and decent battery life from just 4 AA's. The audio is reasonable too and they do the job just fine. Hope this helps. 👍
It's not something I have any experience with. However, this article on the Camtrapper.com website may be of some help : www.cameratrapper.com/showthread.php?282-SB-28-s-(external-power)

Can you do a video how to connect external battery to the sb 28

@@JohnFormstone thanks
I've put together a trap like this myself. I'm still learning the best settings. What shutter speed did you use?
OK, I see it in the description....
In aperture priority the shutter speed is determined by the camera. Good luck with your camera trap. 👍
How cool. That's not anything you see every day.
Congratulations 🙂
Thanks! That's the thing i love about camera trapping, now and then the unexpected happens. 👍
