Thanks for sharing. I have seen napkins used in the Bible but have not tried it yet. You can also try using a flexible cutting mat from the dollar store to place between the pages or left over plastic packaging, or cut plastic folder to make flexible mats.

I have use napkins for other things I never thought of this. I put a post it on the front and on the back of the napkin and use that to get it started by pulling the two flaps of the post it apart
oh i've never heard of that before. i'm guessing that's something you can get at the craft store? just apply on the page, stick on the napkin and that's it?

Hi-nice video! They sell silicone and plastic bible journaling mats, but I get the thin cutting mats from the Dollar Tree and c;it them to size. It works perfectly and lifts off the page smoothly. Also, if you want to use regular paper, the trick is to remove it before your glue dries. Have fun and God bless. 😊

It varies! I’ll usually do the art after I do the study. So I’m not too concerned if some words are covered. But I’ve also noticed that sometimes the words still show through when the art is somewhat minimal. But if you’re concerned, you can always cut around and make sure the art only goes on the blank areas of your pages!

When you come back to a passage of scripture, to continue your study, you're not concerned if you've covered up some of His words? Same thing if a family member inherits your Bible, in the future. Do you want His word hidden from your son, or perhaps, you granddaughter? Have you ever looked at the beautiful ornamentation of Bibles in prior centuries? They took care that God's word was never hidden by anything the illustrator created. It was done to honor His word, not to hide it. Your Bible, your faith, your choice. Please just think about it. What's more important? Your art or His words?
The ESV illuminated journaling bible set (each book of the Bible is bound separately) provides a way around this issue, because each page of text is followed by a blank page for journaling. It’s a game changer!

The Matt is a good choice because if you use the gloss formula your Bible pages will stick together even when fully dry

Use a piece of scotch tape to grab the extra layer(s) of napkin that needs to be removed. Super easy

Put some clear gesso on ypur bible page before putting the napkin on... you can make it for super cheap.
