- So you're looking for your First Car, your young and just passed your test, but have seen how much insurance can cost. Luckily in the UK second hand car market, there's loads of options, for Young Drivers which still pack a punch. So here are my best picks of cars that aren't horrendous to insure.

Zetec 2013 as my first game without a black-box cost me 1.8k and with black-box 900, so I went without. Bought it from a local trader instead of private for 5.9 with a 33k mileage.

I’d say the last of the zetec s’ are the best first car, I’ve got the 140 and it was £2000 for insurance without a box, or £1150 with.

@@penisman4144 you can drive a car with 90bhp at the absolute limit, and still not going dangerously fast. Most of these cars are light and handle well too
@@penisman4144 he said for young drivers, as I understand mostly people that just got their licence , so a car with 90bhp is alright , they first need to master the basics after all. So I don't think a car with over 200bhp is a smart move for a beginner

I’ve had my mini hatch for over a year and it great fun to drive, expensive to fix and good on long drives but I’m 2k in with repairs on a car I got for free. They are dead cheap on auto trader but I need a 5 door so I’m going to try and change it within a year
Hundai coupes are relatively unknown and are decent cars that are cheap to buy and insure, i think it belongs on this list too.

My first car was a bmw 1 series 2008, but insurance was 4.5k so i sold it and got a 2018 vw polo with 2.2k insurance and it runs amazingly
edit: 1 year later I'm almost on the 2 year mark from owning my license, and considering an upgrade although I'm still getting 2-10k quotes off cars like the golf GTE, Leon, ford puma, etc etc... almost like the 2 years of driving did not make my insurance any cheaper.. UK is a joke and car insurance is the biggest scam of the century.

is it just me or the new GR yaris is relatively cheap to insure compared to its power output and idk just in general. im getting quoted 3.2k in my area on a theoretically full licence i will have in about 3 months time, and then i added ive had it for 6 months which wouldnt change pricing anyway but yeah. Also didnt add myself as the 2nd driver but the first. i didnt input my driving licence number though so yeah.

Just get an i10 its group 1 insurance and about 70mpg they go forever on a 10a of petrol but shake a little over 80mph... So iv heard haha
It’s because of most young drivers wanting “fast & sporty” cars that they can thrash around and drive like a prat that insurance is so high.
Vehicles are not toys they are power tools that can be very lethal and do a lot of damage when a irresponsible individual is in control of them. The video maker shouldn’t be encouraging such behavior.

Depends on your age! I’m 25 and haven’t even passed my test yet and a 2020 Nissan Micra is £500 w no BB to insure, but still 12’ plated cars and older come in at a bomb for £1500-2k

That's because insurance is cheaper if your insuring it on a provisional licence, typically works out about half the price 👍
But very true, I'm turning 30 and doing my lessons, it really is ridiculous how the age helps things, an audi tt is about 1300 a year (on a full licence)

Fiesta shown is a zetec S and is 118bhp it's pretty quick for a first car in stock form 0-60 is about 9.5 seconds , it's a 1.6 16valve not sure what insurance is , my son's girlfriend who is 18 has one , a very nice car.
