Teya and Salena have subordinated themselves to a kind of play. Under the patronage of the Austrian President, money was collected for underprivileged young people and children in Austria. The whole thing was framed in a 2-hour play that told the history of Austria in connection with Schönbrunn Palace. From the builder Empress Maria Theresa to today. Teya and Salena embodied the so-called "Biedermeier period" from 1815 -1848, when the Austrian bourgeoisie and artists, disappointed by the unchangeable political situation in Austria, turned away from politics and turned entirely to private life. Interior decoration, painting, reading, writing non political stuff...
If this was their staging for Liverpool, Austria would have skyrocket my entire ranking, this is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the actual staging i'm loving it fr
I guess they used the wrong fabrics. I study historical fashion very often and I remember well how garments were made with light materials so women back them wouldn't overheat in a sunny day It's more likely that austrian tv were too lazy to make fitting outfits to them with the right materials lmao
Such a good staging!!! Very fitting to Austria and same time period as the life of Edgar Allan Poe! Such a miss that they didn't use it in Liverpool, they would receive much much more points.
I'm British so not aware of the historical underpinnings of the presentation, but from an aesthetic point of view it looks gorgeous, the historic costumes befitting with the ghost who has haunted them, ie, Poe, and a much better fit than the Eurovision performance which reminded me of Kraftwerk, which was great, but this is better. I love the song so much, a nifty pun on singers using ghost writers for their hits, and these girls are literally using a ghost writer. Camera work was a bit jumpy, but otherwise I enjoyed it, and hope to hear more from these wonderful ladies.
they said yesterday, that the costumes from "Dancing Stars" (the planned costumes) are not the costumes for Eurovision. So they seemed to have changed that.
@@SherlockH85the dancing stars costumes aren’t the planned ones tho They’re missing the strings, teya’s is a lot less shiny and salena’s top is longer I’m on the fence about the actual planned costumes and i do like these a touch better but we’ll see
Es ist ja schon mal gut wenn der ORF in so viele Shows usw. Teya und Salena einsetzt. Das war doch noch nie! Das ist ein Zeichen, das er Geld hat und es richtig einsetzt🎉.
This song reminds me of when we stayed in Ted Hughes & Sylvia Plath's old manor house for a week as a school trip. We were /convinced/ the house was haunted - for literally no reason. We would go around typing things like "I AM TED HUGHES I WILL K!LL YOU IN YOU SLEEP" on the old typewriters in the library and leave them in each other's bedrooms, then blame it on the "ghost" 😂 fun times, I'm sure we would've loved this song back in 2012
This staging is 10000000 times better than during the ESC! Why the downgrade? The corny dance, the dresses, the colours, the makeup, it's in line with Poe and the anachronism with the references to Universal and Spotify (and the tattoos :p) are super funny. EDIT: this is every single comment under this video, I hope the Austrian delegation is not reading. :D
Innendekoration, malen, lesen usw.

Well you might be right about the Outfits. I am not sure. But they do have good voices. I hope live. There is no time for Theater at ESC. Though Austrians would love that little Gag.
Of course, you will not find total historical accuracy in this play. There are always references to the present. Mozart sings in this play about the cost of living crises, which really existed at the time. But he sings "one needs gasoline for the car". Of course there were no cars and gasoline back then.

Nice choice of time period for them to represent, since Poe wrote in the 1830s and 1840s

I wish they were doing the head mic for the Eurovision stage instead of handheld mic so they can do the choreography
I wish these were the costumes for the Eurovision 😅
I don't understand why they didn't do this at the Eurovision.

If they did this in Liverpool, no doubt they’d get the second highest televote score and get into the top 5.
This is much better than the eurovision version..
Schade nicht ganz live....
Who even uses playback these days?

Producer decision and saving their voices for the rehearsels at Eurovision 48 hours later.
this is how is should be staged for eurovision tbh

The song is nice but the performance is weak with poor vocals. The costumes and heavy eye make up are not very 'biedermayer'.
