The number they say (0.003) is the money spotify artist receive per stream. They decided this after an agreement with Universal, so that refers to the lyric "Girl call Universal, you're about to be a star"
In general the theme of the song is very critical against the music industry, espacially against not mentioning the names of ghost writers.
Edgar Allan Poe was an American writer (That tried to make ends meet with it). They're singing "There's a ghost in my body", meaning they're possessed by him and that he is literally ghost writing this song.

So,...when was the last time you bought a CD or a vinyl record from a band you like?...or merchandise etc.? Btw. the song sucked some serious dick. I was ashamed for being Austrian when I heard it. A generic English song. Forgettable at best. Some of the other countries at least brought a little bit of their own culture and language into their performance. This is what Eurovision is actually about. Culture, diversity and the beauty thereof. Our performance was shameful and the score reflected that truthfully.

They didn't have a good staging though and it's what gave them the opener slot and thus the disappointing score. The Austrian delegation shot themselves in the foot.

@TH2714 Well, yes the staging wasn't that good, bcuz of the participating broadcaster the ORF. The ORF is broke, they literally have no money. I know that bcuz I live in Austria and the ORF sucks

"Who The Hell Is Edgar?" deserved to be in the top 5 at the very least, but Europe just decided to sleep on this masterpiece. @@RKOEvoltution I'm truly disappointed Loreen won as I find the song generic and overproduced. Really hoped she wouldn't win. My favourite was Finland as well and voted for him. Before the semi's Finland and Austria were my favourites. I think more close ups of the dance would have worked better for Austria but I'm no connoisseur, I just think it's a missed chance. However you can be proud: the ladies have great voices and it's a very catchy song.
The best thing about the song's the lyrics, and I doubt much of the audience actually pays much attention to them.

I meant some people can't pay as they're underage and just can't, or I saw people saying that the show doesn't accept votes from all phone operators (or however they're called).It's not always just about money, but even if it is, then what? Some people can't afford to waste money. These "couple of euros" can cost someone more than you think.
For me, pretty sure my phone number operator has all kind of sms votes blocked, exactly because it's a waste of important money.

2 months later, this has by far been the most replayed song on my Eurovision playlist. Great music to get you going. Much smarter lyrics than a surface listen would have you believe.

Do you guys remember Sheldon Riley, the talented guy who represented Australia last year? He was also 2nd in semi 2, the Juries appreciated him a lot (8th place), but he flopped so hard in the televote ( only 2points ) and finally he got 15th place, so pretty much the same situation!
But Sheldon finished 8th with the public in the semi and had a decent position in the running order for both semi and finale (he's awesome too though imo).

They were 2nd (behind Australia) in Semi Final 2, with 137 Points, which was the third-highest score in both Semi Finales combined.

I think people focus to much on the points in Eurovision... I think we should focus on the artists doing their best and showing their work to the World. This year I just proud of my country and I didn't care we were 4th from the bottom in the final (Portugal). Congrats Austria on creating a song that builds the interaction with the audience.

At first I thought this was unorgininal radio music. But now I know, that "who the hell is edgar" has by far the best lyrics of this year's Eurovision. Great song!

This was an absolutely fantastic performance! Austria, you have to be proud! Its unbelievable, what a low amount of points the public gave this masterpiece- it was such a huge fan favourite, and the girls performed an outstanding song with such an important message, build into a quirky and fun pop song! I voted many times for them, and it was all alone the fault of the running order, that got the girls only 16 Televoting Points which is an unforgivable and unjust robbery!
