Does this build still works after hotfix 6? They nerfed some of the rings, the shield repel damage build that people were using and killing the boss just by blocking doesn't work anymore.. I wonder if yours is also nerfed
Great question. I checked yesterday, it's harder but still work amazingly well. Just need to favor your attack vs his, more than before (like evading one attack of his 3-4 attack combo), but I still go face and able to beat it every time. I'll share a video about it probably later on today so I can compare before and after patch.
BTW, I am with literally low armor (204), haven't even upgraded all my great and I do it, because I didn't need to before. Now it's time to upgrade the gear and find items that improve poise, and after that, I think it will be back to "piece of cake". I'll update once I do it, but again, still very easy against him, just need to watch out of long combo attack where you might get stagger and won't be able to hit to heal on the next set of attacks. There was a nerf for sure, as expected, but this build survived the nerf well for fighting boss face-to-face. It's not totally broken bow, but it works.
@@DoctorBoom. Yes, already upgraded 4 characters, not gonna wait until respec comes. Even that, it makes things easier than removing items and getting them back. Also I can visit Finley in different realms (4 realms). I'll share more as I go, still working on them.
Yeh, but I don't like playing with magic builds, I like it feel physical to the face type of gameplay, I have the most fun like that. I finish the crucible more than 100 times, and only now I want to change to bow for a bit of change.
This will always happen as long as mods on gear is supposed to feel meaningful. If you don't make a very specific build, he is by far the hardest boss in the entire game. Also, if you start to balance around builds like these than people that don't build a proper character won't be able to kill whereas right now they can.
The sword is very rare (Gnarled Saw), I got it like 4 times in total and I put like 75 hours into the game. But trust me, once you get it, stay with it even if the perks are bad as it's combo fast attack and damage are what makes it so amazing. Unless it has a cursed very bad one that's understandable. I don't count on getting a better one than mine because it takes me forever, so I'll probably go and try a dex build next and if I find another one with another character, I'll give it to my strength one (if it's possible, I believe it is). Good luck getting the weapon, it's well worth it. Also, if you play with a controller with vibration, it's the most satisfying thing ever with this sword.
O yea I always use controller for these kinds of games. I'm using the axe right now that has the 3 quick over head chops but it doesn't have the reach or stagger like that does

You can kill him 3x faster with magic build - 300-400dmg per cast with infinite focus thx to cheap potions

I wish i could get any of those perks lol
Once you get lots of gold, you can enchant common items a lot and have a higher chance to get what you like.

Is the % of gain health when dealing damage on the plague ring enough for that health regen or u need it on the weapon too ?
