Growing up in “the colonies” all babies and little girls wore t-strap Mary Janes and we thought they were a British must. Didn’t know that they were of US origin. Princess Charlotte did too 😊

Shoes and boots are a definite weakness for me, too. Footwear sets the tone of the outfit, they’re so important in styling. Comfort, as well as material (genuine leather only) and style, is the biggest priority for my shoe choices and Sezane’s Paula Babies are my current favorite. I wish they had a closed-heel version for the coming cool season. They do have such a shoe, but the heels are too high for me, the Paula’s are perfect. But, I couldn’t see myself wearing them with tights❤

I actually just ordered a pair of Mary Janes. I found them at a cheaper price on Amazon, but I am returning them. The left shoe is bigger than the right by about 1/2 size. If it weren’t for the strap they’d be coming off my foot. They are marked the same size, but clearly something is wrong. Will order directly from the company or find them in a store. Glad to see you again Marie-Anne! 🥰

Due to injuries and surgeries, I can only wear Clarks lace up ankle boots..I have them in black, mid brown, maroon and light olive/khaki. Plus I can wear vintage classic Reeboks. I have white, ballet pink, light lilac and gold. My clothes are adapted to my footwear, and I am petite. Somehow I manage to look good, but miss a 2" heel. I'm not giving up.

@@MarieAnneLecoeurshoe shopping is difficult for me. My foot is wide and thick and can't fit in most loafers. I'll have to go to shoe stores and try them on. 😒

I’ve discovered loafer styles with sling backs. It’s the only way I can keep them on my feet. They are not prevalent so I purchase when possible.

I love my Converse and have had so many colors, right now black and navy, and they look good with everything! Also love a Mary Jane, so flattering and versatile. I love a strappy shoe! Gonna be boot season here before long, and I love Columbia for fun colors and warm feet. I'll get back to fashion next spring, for fall and winter it's about staying warm.

My husband and I are traveling to France in October for a cruise on the Rhon river from Lyon to Avingon. I will need really comfortable foot wear. I like the idea of new sneakers and perhaps comfortable loafers. I intend to go shopping soon.

I nearly always have loafers too but it’s been hard to nice ones for a while. That’s great news that they’re fashionable this year. I need some loafers for my wardrobe so I should have more options next year when winter arrives. I like ankle boots but it’s been hard to find a pair for me. Maybe I’ll be luck with those as well. I bought a pair locally but from a shopping channel and had to return them which cost me $30 just to return them. So I’ll see what comes into the shops in autumn. Summer will be here soon though. We’re experiencing a taste of summer, an early summer for the past few days (34 degrees Celsius).
I know you love your Converse but they have rough insoles and I don’t see why they can’t make them comfortable without having to add an insole. A thin layer of canvas doesn’t cut it and the ones I tried on didn’t even have that. There are many comfortable (and attractive) options that don’t make you feel like you’ve put your foot into gravel. 😂 Maybe we get cheaper ones in our market.

While sneakers have become more acceptable as footwear for a more casual and chic daily look, for me there are 2 rules that in my opinion keeps the look elegant:
1. They must be low tops (think Superga, Adidas, Vega, Converse, Loewe, Dior styles) and not an athletic gym style
2. Unless it's summer and my outfit is light coloured, white coloured runners look so awkward and jarring in the cooler months and especially with darker clothing, even jeans. A coloured sneaker (like the light blue that you modelled) that coordinates in some way with the outfit colour, besides keeping a look fresh and updated, will always lend a more chic, considered and elegant touch than a glaring white sneaker in Fall or Winter.
With a limited shoe wardrobe, I am staying with my classics. My low heels are black Mary Janes. My Naods give me the support that ballerinas lack. They too could be classified as Mary Janes. I have my brown loafers. I never fail to draw compliments wearing my red Pikolino half boots. As a former athlete, I have definite reasons for staying away from Converse. The quality of Keds has greatly improved, providing needed arch support. I bought a pair this summer to replace a worn pair of canvas shoes. My Keds are a soft grey color that I can wear with anything. I am ready for Fall.

I love your red cashmere sweater. You look so vibrant and classy. I love mary janes. The red ones are beautiful. I have a couple sketchers mary janes. They are my favorite brand as they are most comfortable. I had a surgery on my right foot and can’t wear lots of shoes that are so beautiful. 😢 can’t wear heels at all. Love all of your shoes. ❤

Yes....I do not know why I love shoes. But I do. I must mimic the first style with the red baby Janes, the red sweater, and the lovely blue leather handbag. I do not have Cambridge, but I have a sedate Dooney and Bourke in Saffiano blue leather or a Coach pebbled leather in navy. I bought these red patent Mary Jane heels from BCBG about 4 years ago. They are still new with only one wearing, but because of this video, I will get more wear out of them this year. I found a good sale on black Seude loafers with the gold horse-bit-styled design and a tassel. from Talbots. I do have two-toned flats, kitten heels, and ballerinas. I think I will fit in this Fall with French chic. I had a nice chuckle at your bright red toe nail varnish. I generally fall asleep at the pedicurist's because I buy more service with rubs and soakings and such- I will be wary after seeing your illuminating red toes.

I bought some Paula Babies from Sezane 2 weeks ago in caramel. I have never worn Mary Janes before but they look great with my jeans. I adore those red Mary Janes you have.
