    Welcome To My Ride:
This was not my last ride in Quebec but it was the last one that I videoed. My microphone gave it up on the ride to the ski resort area.
    Welcome To My Ride…
This is the last video from my visit to the Granby area of Quebec… audio issues presented me with an inability to complete a video of ride #5 to the Bromont Ski Area. Unable to solve the issue of my broken microphone, I put my camera away and savored my last ride in Canada.
If you watched all of the videos in this series, you know that my first ride was to Roxton Falls; this had me riding the Yamaska National Park (NP) trails along the north shore Choiniere Reservoir due east to meet up with La Route Verte 4 (RV4) and then take a left heading north for a ride out & back to the small town of Roxton.
This video chronicles a bike ride that took me on the Yamaska NP trail system along the reservoir’s southern shore and I, once again, merged onto RV4 - this time I headed south to the small city of Waterloo. From the time I left camp until I entered Waterloo I was on well groomed crushed stone with stunning wild flowers, forests, and water features all along the route. Although uphill all the way, the grade was never more than 2.5% - a very easy ride that allowed me to soak in the sights. It was also a lonely ride as I saw only two cyclists for my entire morning ride until I entered Waterloo.
My 17 mile loop back to Granby had me transitioning to La Route Verte 1. The ride was a low grade - mostly in the down direction with the trail being fully paved and well signed all of the way back to Granby. The scenery on this leg was not as rural as my morning ride and had many more users… cyclists, skaters, and walkers. It was also more developed with fields and farms up close to the trail and scenic mountains off in the distance. A small park just outside of Waterloo was a nice place to take a break but I soon came across the bike version of an interstate highway rest area… an information center with light snacks and water, a large number of picnic tables, and beautiful sculptures on the grounds - it was packed with groups of day cyclists as well as fully laden bike tourers.
As a summary recommendation, if you had to do only one ride in this area, this would be the one. The route I videoed was about 26 miles with the total distance to complete the loop back to Yamaska NP being just shy of 34 miles. Add a few miles to this and explore the Granby trails around Lake Boivin - the sculptures along these local trails should not be missed… literally an outdoor art show.
