There's actually a similar park on the Canada-US border between Manitoba and North Dakota called the International Peace Garden. It's jointly maintained by the two countries, and visitors to the park can freely walk across the border and around the park without going through customs.

There are also smaller independence movements, I just listed the ones I knew
While Israel is independent, and a majority of UN recognise it, many Islamic countries and North Korea don’t.
The land between Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt is recognised as fully Israel by some, fully Palestine by some and some nations recognise both.
China is also disputed as Taiwan claims it as their land but I don’t think that claim is recognised by a lot of countries.
I went to “Canada” when I was 16 for summer camp, but I’m not convinced they didn’t fly me in a circle to a secret airport in a part of Chicago Iv never seen (supposedly it was Toronto), then drive me to some random place in Wisconsin where people acted weird and sold different candy.

I like that we're a constitutional monarchy but do not like that we have an actual monarch so have been thinking for years that we should replace them with a symbol, like a statue or portrait, to make the monarchy really really symbolic. A statue or portrait of a moose wizard would be fine by me. God Save The Moose! (a symbolic God that is).

Sorry for being "that guy" but as a ranger I can't resist.
-There's over 400 National Parks in the US. That's defined as a park administered by the National Park Service. They're all the same administratively and don't get any higher credit if they're a "National Park" vs a "National Historic Site", they're all parks to us.
-The NPS has another "International Parks" with varying a different level of cooperation and that is "Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park".

I have a friend from Campobello, nicknamed “Camp”, who took us on a tour there maybe 40 years ago. Saw the Roosevelt “cottage”. We were living in NB at the time. Worth a visit, you get there by going thru Maine, and have to clear customs, to get to an island in Canada. Weird, too!

Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park: Am I nothing to you?
The reason is Waterton-Glacier is really two parks... one side is a National Park of Canada and the other a US National Park... sharing a common border. Similar to Peace Arch Park where the US side is a Washington state park and the Canadian side is a BC provincial park... even though there is no restriction crossing from one side to the other within the park, as long as you exit on the same side you entered.
Someone from the United States sticks the US flag in a forest in Canada.

They were fifth cousins once removed, which meant they would have been extremely unlikely to share common genes that the rest of the humanity didn't have. If they didn't have the same last name, no one would have even known they shared a tiny fraction of their ancestry. Their last common ancestor died in 1660, and FDR was actually more closely related to President Ulysses Grant (fourth cousins) than to his fifth cousin Theodore Roosevelt or Teddy's niece, Eleanor.

I went to "Canada" when I was 6 to an old amusement park that closed when I was 8 or 9 that was on an island in the Detroit River technically over the border. But they let Americans visit the island and the island only without customs processing. It's not a national park, but it's a park that isn't in America but Americans can go there as if it were in America. It's called Bois Blanc and much of the structures are still there rotting away.

Nah following WW2 America took over most of the free world, and became an empire, not by boots on the ground mind you, but rather by the wallet as well as culture. Oh wow, this is close to home! We've taken several day trips to Campobello. Fun fact: the only bridge to the island goes to the US. There is a seasonal ferry to Deer Island, New Brunswick though. Makes for fun times during a pandemic when the borders are closed...
Also, if you ever get a chance to go there, see if you can get in to "Elanor's tea". Older local ladies tell stories about Elanor Roosevelt while serving you endless cups of tea. She was an amazing woman!

@@liesdamnlies3372 Well, it took a lot of blood but yes, Canada took that hill and France commemorated the victory by granting us the land where an incredibly large monument sits. (For all you viewers outside Canada, if you get a chance to see the monument in Vimy, do it! It's an incredible monument commemorating Canada's WW1 battle victory and France's liberation).

New Brunswick is a myth anyway. (The longer people don't know about it the longer I can afford to live here, and I can barely afford it as it is.)
As an extra bonus for the residents of Campobello, the only way to get to the rest of NB is through the US using a bridge or a seasonal car ferry that takes you to Deer Island where... You have to take another ferry to get to the rest of New Brunswick.

... but it's really two seperate parks that share a common border... the Canadian side is a National Park of Canada.
