My first top quality bike was a Mercian pro road frame I built with all campy nuovo record with sew ups in 1972 the frame builders company was named after the kingdom of Mercia . A little bike trivia for you
@@bobwilliamson5574 Ohhhhhhhh that's why a segment on Strava is called "to the cut"! I haven't fallen in yet.... I did almost go in years back as I was racing for a segment on Strava and met another cyclist coming the other way through a tight bridge corner. Almost went over the bars in to the canal there.
Er.... E-stay old MTB? I think they're generally a bit rarer so the price might be hiked. They were only made for a few years around the early 90s as far as I'm aware (for MTB anyway)
Just built up a 1993 specialized rockhopper. Took it out for a blast first time today on a muddy trail. How the hell did we ride them year's ago lol. Still had fun but the cantilever brakes were crap. Otherwise it was ok and I've decided i now like steel again.
Man I want one of these Soooo bad. That handlebar style is my favourite style too, for the early bikes, and I finally got a set on a bike I bought. I’d do the bike in matte green, everything else black, massive wide slicks, 7 speed coaster hub, and that’s about it. Some custom decals on it too, Bomber is one of my favourite Motörhead songs, so I’d work some Motörhead albums or something into the decal, and use a silhouette of Lemmy in place of the Raleigh badge. I want one even more now, but I don’t think they’re even in Australia!
In my opinion.... they're definitely a bike that needs upgrades if you want to ride it. As standard they're heavy and slow. Upgrades make them pretty fun though!
@@MonkeyShred Oh yeah! I love keeping the old iron running with new bits. I modify literally everything. I bought what I will still say the best bike I ever bought, my Yes single speed. Changed to a spoked wheel, made a disc for the rear, changed to a carbon seat, changed brake cables to match seat highlights. My all original Speedwell Flash 500 had awful pedals so I changed those, and the tyres. I was pretty easy on it because I love it so much. I have issues lol. Actually, my Giant Thermo is the one bike that aside from putting new tyres on and maaaaybe swapping the seat, there’s nothing on the bike I have the urge to change. I don’t know what’s happened to me lol.
Hey, What an amazing project this Bomber is. I just wanted to know: Is this the same Frame that you "cold set" back on 2020? Did you really go from 110 mm to 126mm O.L.D.?! And how is the frame doing so far? I'm planning to go from 120mm - 135mm on a fixie steel frame with horizontal dropouts. Any advice is welcome.
Yeh! I live in a town that is the confluence of two rivers. (The Tame and Anker). South of the town following the Tame is a wetland nature sanctuary so well, that naturally floods but lots of other areas do too.
I will never complain about riding in the rain again! Just watching this makes want a hot cup of tea 🥶
cool bike and absolutely beautiful place to live. I so much miss the snow.
My fingers are crossed for a proper day of snow so it lasts on the ground for days!
I don't know how practical they are, but the bars look cool.
I have a set and really like them.
@@jurdih Those bars make me want to have that bike
I use a Nitto Bullmoose on my trail touring bike and it is supremely comfortable long distance. Great height and sweep angle for wrist comfort.
As other have said, I find them really comfortable. Lot more comfortable than standard Bomber bars IMO
Very cool bike. Very cool vid. Interesting to see GB! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
Happy New Year to you and all yours, without forgetting that black and white creature that gives us its adorable presence in your videos.
Ah Torvi is stealing the show!
Great production! Awesome countryside.
Glad you enjoyed it
bet its freezing cold but it is so lovely riding a machine that you built with your own hands.
Not too cold actually. It was colder this morning and I was riding in shorts!
Love the riding videos! Nice to see the projects getting put through their paces.
More to come then!
I particularly liked the shot rising from the bridge. Nice work on the stair-set of doom! 👍
Yeh I liked how that one came out! Worked well with the big snow :)
Beautiful scenery. You guys got some good snow!
Pfft, it only lasted that day. It was mainly melted the next :(
Awesome landscape footage with the snow, the music worked well with it as well 👍🏼
Thanks 👍
It would look pretty good with chrome mudguards, and it would be a lot more fun to ride in the wet. I love the drone shots.
That's for the next owner to decide now but yes, chrome guards would look good!
That is a cool bike. Love it
Thanks!
Amazing video and the chilling music Sound work perfect together.🤘🤩👍
Glad you think so!
Beautiful bike man!
Gracias!
Very awesome build and bike
Thanks!

Well, here I am in the capital of the old Kingdom of Mercia ;)
Nice Bike and great footage 🚲 🌨
Thanks ✌️
Production quality has stepped up really nicely even without the drone footage. Keep it up!
Thanks! Always trying to improve. These rides will be in 4K now too :)
Cool looking bike. Wanna build one as well, but as a fixie. Absolutely dig that frame.
I'm not sure how well it would work as a fixie with that laid back riding position. Give it a go though!
Monkey shred , ten out of ten for braving the elements.
Have you ever misjudged and fallen in the cut ?
Fallen in the cut? The cut between video clips or the cut... like a ditch?
@@MonkeyShred I mean the cut as in the Canal .

Need to try swept back bars. Great looking bike!
Those Bullmoose are pretty comfy. I might stick them on another bike.
Cool video 📹 thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Damn.. I always wanted a Bomber back in the 80's
They're a pretty woeful ride as standard. Best to customise one ;)
@@MonkeyShred I'll stick with my knackered mk1 burner for now then!
Other then the top tube slope looks wierd.
Good job👍
Thanks 👍
Took my dad's 2020 bergamot e revox expert 600 out in the snow it was a blast
Nice. E Bike shredding.
Happy new year! I found this bike with an elevated chainstay. Are these bikes more expensive just because of the chainstay?
Er.... E-stay old MTB? I think they're generally a bit rarer so the price might be hiked. They were only made for a few years around the early 90s as far as I'm aware (for MTB anyway)
No mud guards= wet poo stripe up back of anorak.Nice 14 speed conversion mind.
The stripe definitely resembled that.

At least the rims were alloy and not chrome steel. Nothing stops with them haha
@@MonkeyShred lol. True.
@@paulhiggins6024 what are they?

It is that exact frame yes! For the time I had it, it rode great and worked really well. Unfortunately, it's no longer in my possession.
Great job ! I won’t a bomber I just can’t find one in the USA!
Ahhh but you have a tonne of Schwinn cruisers and similar right? The Bomber was basically a copy of them.
Nice work
You changed your account name Mike?
@@MonkeyShred ye man, seem to be known more as the Marinman now 🤣
cool vid. Did not kow drones can fly under heavy snowfall.
It's probably not recommended but... they were big light blobs with barely any wind so I thought I'd give it a go!
I bet you've improved it's rideabity with the multi speed set up instead of the old dated sturmey archer three speed
Definitely. It's so much easier to ride. Lighter, brakes better, more comfortable and has a bunch more gears!
Is the flooding common where you live?

Отличная погода ))) привет из Украины !
Желаю, чтобы у нас было больше снега!
@@MonkeyShred Спасибо )
The blue and the orange looks a bit off, but otherwise stellar showing.
Orange? It's more of a tan/brown or so it's advertised as.
I'm jelous! We never get enough snow in this country anymore 😒
It didn't last long! Infact if was gone the next day mostly. It's been about 5 years or so since we've had a snowfall here that lasted days.
I love this bike soo much but it's too expensive :(
It’s already with a new owner too!
Very nice 😍💋 💝💖♥️❤️
Have given you a thumbs up BUT I really, really dislike your choice of music. Sorry. Had to view it with the sound muted.
It's all good! Everyone has different taste
