Stomping around from point A to B with an overleveled Typhlosion? That brings back memories. I had one in Soul Silver that was like Level 92 while the rest of my team was around levels 12-18. I even had one in the single digits. Then I realized that wasn't a good idea because I couldn't beat Lance with effectively just Lugia and Typhlosion.
God I hope these are good. I've been so disappointed with pokemon recently and I'm already not getting the diamond and pearl remakes, so let this be the game that I want to get, let this be a game that brings new life to the pokemon franchise.

I mean Gamefreak needs to makes the games harder like gen 5 or so we haven't had a hard game for a long time I agree with Snivy the Pokemon should move or go after you or get mad when you got its kind they should make a story for Arceus like its not a good game if they don't do nothing like that its going to be Sw and SH where the Pokemon stays there and only battle and doesn't do a thing in that game
@@nolanhartsoe ya you could they could do that but they say no to that like when everyone was asking for the dark type gym for a long time until gen 8 they should make it be like you can make it at the start easy or hard it would be cool if they did that
To be fair, I'd be very satisfied if they decided to keep the story to a bare minimum this time and focus more on gameplay and exploration instead. There should definitely be some greater narrative involving Arceus, but it needs to be subtle enough to not distract from the overall gaming experience. Sun and Moon had an amazing story, but it only worked so well because the games were very linear. Forcing us to explore the four islands in a certain order allowed for great pacing, along with some shocking twists and turns that were built up properly and thus didn't feel unnatural or forced. I won't spoil anything for those who haven't played it, but in my opinion, Gen 7 has some of the best writing in the series. But while it's obvious by now that I love these games to death, I'd argue that their approach to storytelling, or even that of Black and White or Platinum, wouldn't translate well to a non-linear sandbox-style adventure RPG like Legends: Arceus. In fact, I am more than willing to do without the family soap drama and complex character arcs, if it means my open-world Pokémon game isn't full of cutscenes and tedious exposition. On the flip side, I definitely agree with many of the points addressed in your video. It is important to note that Breath of the Wild made up for its lack of story with interesting gameplay, e.g. by rewarding exploration and giving players lots of fun things to do in the overworld. And while Legends: Arceus has enough potential to possibly become one of the best Switch games, if it fails to deliver in that regard, it might end up disappointing a lot of people.
Also somewhat similar to Mario Odyssey where of course the main goal is to rescue Peach again it makes up for the lack of story with exploration and finding all the power moons to continue. And you’re rewarded with getting every single power moon a final challenge with most of the characters showing up to cheer you on
I’d love it if they did something similar to Monster Hunter Stories where there is some form of endgame even as simple as a raid that can give a chance to get legendaries and some other rewards.
I just hope that it has actual action rpg combat and not turn based combat, like when you throw your poke ball it swaps control from the player character to the Pokémon and then you can have 4 attacks that you can launch in an action style combat system
i think to fix the difficulty problem in pokemon games they just need a easy and hard mode for the games that just change the move sets and ai for pokemon/trainers
I’m excited yet scared for this game like what if Pokémon r able to attack u while u r sleeping in the game or if u stay still for to long they will go after u like in BOTW
Personally I just feel like Pokémon isn’t that ready like I want them to gradually do it rather then just jumping straight in plus are there even gyms? Towns? Previous gen legendarys? Are there even new Pokémon or something? Can you even just bring previous gen starters? I just feel like I won’t get into it because I don’t really like open worlds since I just get lost or bored.
well if we keep our expectations in check and not expect zelda botw levels of quality. i think it'll be just an ok game..honestly i don't think there's gonna be a whole lot to those games..but hopefully i'm wrong.
i wonder if they just like hired complrely new people to work on pokemon legends because in comparison to the diamond and pear remakes it looks way better
I think the best Pokemon games are BW2, XD and Emerald. Tho I do enjoy Colosseum, Stadium 2 and BW. Tho I don't think HGSS are bad games, but the remakes removed my favorite feature in GSC.
Although it's Pokémons identity, i don't like the classic battle mechanics in this type of game. I really wished it would be more of a 'pokken' style of battle (but less in depth, just moving, dodging, flamethrower here and there who knows). But now it's just the same turn based way of playing, which actually needs no skill at all besides rock-paper-scissors (if you don't play competitevly ofcourse). Keep the turn based in the main games, give this something fresh. Now the hook is just: walking and throwing pokeballs with no random encounters. Let's Go Arceus!
Welp it's still turn-based but now they actually have timers like from dragon quest based on the leaks that leaked the Pokemon present. Like it or not legends is a mainline game and for them to essentially remove a core game mechanic i.e. the battles into something like pokken, can't really see it tbh. Maybe they'll do that in a spinoff perhaps
I mean I see everyone's concerns, but the one thing a lot of people should keep in mind it's still a game actively in development, and that explains a lot of the flaws in the trailer, I do think it's slightly concerning but it's something to keep in mind. I think that GF shouldn't've revealed this until the end of the year af the game awards or something and have it release in spring or summer.
Personally, I feel like Pokemon needs some competition before we could ever expect Gamefreak to put a little more effort in their games, enough to be able to hold up to the DS games. I feel like the developers want to make the games way better than they are, they're developers, ofc they do. I would love to develop Pokemon games myself(by no means am I a dev). But I feel like the higher ups/producers have a, 'least amount of effort, most amount of money,' or, 'it'll sell no matter what' mentality. While the devs do want to make the best games possible, it's just left as a seemingly lazy, or rushed game brimming with amazing potential, because the ideas are there, it's just the effort isn't. Thinking about SW&SH gigamaxing, Kaiju Pokemon is a very good concept they could have gone far with. I wouldn't be surprised if they had some Kaiju plot line of just taking down a bunch of big monsters with pokemon through early the development of SW&SH, but the idea was thrown away because it would require too much time, and mostly too much effort, ofc I don't know that though, so who knows. As for competition, a Pokemon game competitor would be relatively simple to make, but extremely hard to execute, which is why they don't exist really. But it's not impossible, someday some guys with the passion for amazing Pokemon games and the talent to back it up will give us something we all want. I'm kinda talking out of my ass here but I would like to believe 🕵️♂️.
After cutting down on the number of available pokemon they'll cut down on graphics, but this time their excuse will beeeeee.... (*spins the wheel*)... the hard reintroduction of pokeblocks!

I think it'll depend on how good this game sells
Possibly not as this is more of a spin off title than a core title.
My ears felt warm after I finally hear someone say Arceus(Arkeus) and not Arseeus
Seeing as this game is an openworld game focused on sinnoh, I really hope we get some sick bossfights with the legendary Pokémon
Maybe you fight giratina in the distortion world where you and your Pokémon are hopping from floating rock to floating rock while avoiding dragon breaths and firing back at it
Or a darkrai boss battle that takes place in your nightmare where you need a cresselia to fight back
Very true about it being too easy on these current games they have said they don't want their games hard
My favorite part of all this is that people are hyped for this game and upset about the remakes before either game actually came out
Pokemon already has a world built for them throughout these years.
God I hope these are good. I've been so disappointed with pokemon recently and I'm already not getting the diamond and pearl remakes, so let this be the game that I want to get, let this be a game that brings new life to the pokemon franchise.
I could imagine the giratina vs dialga vs palkia battle taking place in the area So you can see them fighting in the field with there moves crashing down to the ground right next to you with some shaking effects etc.
I think the implication foe the rhydon is actually one knocked out in not 100% sure though I really hope they improve framerate ai and add following pokemon
6:20 Pleasantly surprised to hear you mention Trails in the Sky. Trails is an awesome game series that deserves more attention.
Came for Snivy, subscribed for the great video :)
I'll be honest I'm tired of being cautiously optimistic towards Pokemon.
Commenting for the algorithm. Nice vid, honestly, I don't have high expectations, but let's just see what happens.
Just found your channel. You have great content. You deserve more subs!
The whole pokemon community I need MORE !!!!!
I think the ryhorn was lifless because it fainted, the guy battled it two seconds earlier.
I wish they see this video and make the changes
I mean Gamefreak needs to makes the games harder like gen 5 or so we haven't had a hard game for a long time I agree with Snivy the Pokemon should move or go after you or get mad when you got its kind they should make a story for Arceus like its not a good game if they don't do nothing like that its going to be Sw and SH where the Pokemon stays there and only battle and doesn't do a thing in that game
Or just add multiple difficulties and make everyone happy, the babies and the men can live in harmony.
@@nolanhartsoe ya you could they could do that but they say no to that like when everyone was asking for the dark type gym for a long time until gen 8 they should make it be like you can make it at the start easy or hard it would be cool if they did that
@@thesleepykirbygamer8711 easy/normal/hard/expert/insane maybe
@@emilydavidson8844 umm maybe normal hard expert and Expert because if easy the game wont be that hard
Chill! They're going to be successful!
And you’re rewarded with getting every single power moon a final challenge with most of the characters showing up to cheer you on
I’d love it if they did something similar to Monster Hunter Stories where there is some form of endgame even as simple as a raid that can give a chance to get legendaries and some other rewards.
im not getting any pokemon games until i know its actaully a good game this time
I just hope that it has actual action rpg combat and not turn based combat, like when you throw your poke ball it swaps control from the player character to the Pokémon and then you can have 4 attacks that you can launch in an action style combat system
I think it would be cool if there were areas devoted to the indigenous people of Sinnoh (kind of like the Ainu) that view Arceus as a kamuy.
There probably was but they prolly died out because we did see some ruins in the trailer
sun and moon was actually the best game
Come to think of it, the trailer makes it looks like a steam game made with unity assests with Pokemon skins in it
i think to fix the difficulty problem in pokemon games they just need a easy and hard mode for the games that just change the move sets and ai for pokemon/trainers
I want this to be a really good game I really want to believe it will be good but gamefreak disappoints so much... I'll just wait until it releases
1:30 that made me laugh.
Yo this was 4 months ago but it's being released in the end of January 2022 it was quite literally just the beginning of the staging process just wait
I am waiting for Dawn in anime for 2 games promotion
BIG agree
Imagine you can convince a Pokémon to join your team by playing with it or feed it.
I have learned from past experiences to never have high expectations for pokemon games
I’m worried with the release date they won’t be able to do lots of this
Pretty much agreed on all points
Bruh the other shinx wasn't even looking at the one caught
well if we keep our expectations in check and not expect zelda botw levels of quality. i think it'll be just an ok game..honestly i don't think there's gonna be a whole lot to those games..but hopefully i'm wrong.
@ 3:57 Damn milktank :P
I want to play the game cube games a lot, but no gameboy or Wii sadly.
✨Here before 1k✨
i wonder if they just like hired complrely new people to work on pokemon legends because in comparison to the diamond and pear remakes it looks way better
agree
Lol the hate to verlis
I'm just noticing this video was published a month ago... MAN
It needs time and polish. And it will receive neither lol
I hope they pull a botw on us because that would mean the game will be good
Edit I mean take like 5years for the game to come out
After cutting down on the number of available pokemon they'll cut down on graphics, but this time their excuse will beeeeee.... (*spins the wheel*)... the hard reintroduction of pokeblocks!
"Pokemon Legends 2077" incoming
I doubt they'll let you try to beat aponents in any other way than just battling them.
Buy it guys, even if it sucks.
Well, I guess…
build it like how pixelmon they have in minecraft but with better AI
