My Mom and her friend started the first Elvis fan club! Elvis's favorite song was which Billy was playing in the Jungle Room, the song was Let me go Rock and Roll ! And he did get it! And he said that Ace was a Kick ass guitar player! And all Elvis said, was "I get it,it is Rock and Roll! He had his guitar player listen to KISS! And he did a few Ace licks in his playing! And the KISS my ASS album story is true! And Elvis did like KISS! They were going to do Jailhouse Rock or ..........dang,I have to remeber, but the 4th side of Alive II was going to have an Elvis song because ACE loved Elvis and cried when he found out Elvis died! I know both sides of this! And a whole lot more!

My very first live concert was KISS on August 16th 1977.
Paul Stanley announced his death by saying, "We're gonna rock and roll all night and Elvis Presley every day" and that was it.
We had heard the news of his death as we were standing in line, outside the Cow Palace in S.F., and ppl , mostly kids, were visibly moved.
I'll never forget were I was when I heard the news

Elvis was the King. He is so beloved all over the world. He was a fantastic artist that the world will never see the likes off again. He produced his own sessions, sang like a god from heaven, and arranged his own songs. He knew exactly what a song needed to be successful. He also understood gimmick and publicity. Of course he understood what Kiss was all about.

Elvis Presley Started it all and knew music and he knew how to perform it and he knew how to present it. Elvis Presley was a genius at producing and arranging. He is KING for a reason. The bands and single artist that came during and after just imatated and was influanced by The King ELVIS PRESLEY. They just presented it in a different way. 'Before Elvis There was nothing'', The worlds light was dim, When Elvis Aaron Presley emerged on the seen. He shattered everything that was dark and lit the world with light so bright, like no other before or since. God created Elvis Aaron Presley to change the world. Change the world he did. To make it a better place. He gifted Elvis Aaron Presley with his greatest gifts. Bringing The greatest gifts of looks, vocals, hair, style, charisma, charm, stature and grace. He Brought joy, happiness, love, generosity and caring to this world, and The World crowned Him KING. Elvis Aaron Presley was"Unique and Ereplceible in a world of duplication''. The Icon, The Legend. The Untouchable. The Immortle, The incredible, The King of Influance, The King of song. The King of vocals. The master, The King of style, The King of charisma. The gladiator and King of stage. The one and only True KING. The KING of Music And Entertainment. Elvis Aaron Presley. Greatest Of All Time Past Present and Future. Til the end of time. ''TCB''

Yeah it's true. You look at those old tour pictures in the 70's with the Stanley Brothers as teenagers and they're always wearing rock t-shirts, Led Zeppelin, Kiss, etc. Elvis was very open-minded to new music, in fact he made a point to hear it, and in his Madison Square Garden press conference in 1972, he made it a point to say he would never criticize another performer, that there's room for everybody.

One of the top selling entertainers of all time. Most impersonated entertainer of all time. The Elvis franchise released 2 CD'S in the last 10 years that that reached #1 on the classical charts almost 40 years after his death. Second Most visited home in the United States next to the White House. Nixon with Elvis is the most requested photos from the Congressional Archives. Was the conduit that brought black culture music to the forefront to the white people. First entertainer to have a sold out concert at Madison Square Garden. Did 39 movies. First entertainer to have a worldwide concert broadcasted by Satellite to 69 countries. Inspired countless musical artist and continues to do so. All this and more before the age of 42 and and his death and is still selling music. Even the Elvis Lives concert tour was a hit among people of all ages and he wasn't even there in real life. Suspicious Minds was the most radio requested song for many years. Could he have lived longer had he stayed healthy. Well...yeah. We all could. But I don't know how much more potential you're looking for. And "epic music"? I don't know what music of his you're listening to. But a lot of it is epic. Even Paul Simon went to watch Elvis in concert and Elvis sang Paul Simon's song Bridge Over Troubled Water. Paul's words, "How can you compete with that?" BTW, Elvis has had no less than 149 songs to appear on Billboard's Hot 100 Pop Chart in America. Of these, 114 were in the top forty, 40 were in the top 10, and 18 went to number one. His number one singles spent a total of 80 weeks at number one.

When our family was living in a suburb of Seattle, my brother took me to see "King Creole" (Elvis played a juvenile delinquent THIEF in that movie!), and every time Presley sang, the entire audience jumped to their feet and clapped along in time. I looked around and saw that evert person in the theatre was staring at the screen, many with tears all over their faces. They all wanted to SEE Elvis. Not me. I wanted to BE Elvis. I've never regretted the 14 years I spent playing in a road band.

Doesnt surprise me that Elvis understood KISS. His taste in music was so broad. He understood what they were about, and where they were coming from. Parents reacted to KISS in the 70’s the way they did to Elvis in the 50’s. He got it.

I discovered your content today. Excellent. Great to hear Mr. Stanley relate his Elvis memories about the rock group KISS. If memory serves me, the general public learned of the 3rd anecdote which was referenced in the biography, "Elvis: What Happened" by Mr. Sonny West, Mr. Red West, and Mr. Dave Hebler, as told to Mr. Steve Dunleavy, and released to the marketplace on August 1, 1977. That summer I celebrated my 14th birthday. The 1st, and 2nd anecdote are "new" to my ears. Best wishes for continued success. From London, Ontario, Canada.

Johnny Rigg Yes & No. KISS have released 44 albums including 20 studio albums in their 50 year history. They aren't exclusively a 3 chord band like they had been in the mid 70s.They had progressed musically over the decades & are a bit more musically inclined than what you're assuming. There is many sides to KISS musically & asthetically. Some of their best music came in the mid 80s to mid 90s when the band were touring without the makeup & releasing new music then. Overall It was more technical guitar anthemic hard rock based music then the music they made in the 70s. One thing great about KISS is that they have a lot of good catchy rock songs with good guitar hooks. In isolation,a lot of musicians are better than KISS,but KISS had the hooks, the phrasing, the short riffs, the anthemic choruses and three part harmonies and combined that with their visuals, which their music was. That's why they commercially made it where a lot of bands didn't.
