In the late sixties, I was stationed at Bickliegh in Devon. Myself and 3 other Geordie lads used to drive to Newcastle every other weekend in a Riley Elf. We always used the A361 which cut across to Daventry, then picked up the M1 at junction 17. Avebury was one of our favourite spots on the journey. I often go to Plymouth and still prefer the 361, rather than the M5. It's a lovely picturesque route. Takes longer but is worth it. Beautiful area. Love your vids Luke, often watch them twice. Thankyou..
at time stamp of 2:33. we use those kind of post alot for post and rail fenceing or post and wire fenceing at a nature reserve. At time stamp of 25:58. in our local area we have a lion in a chalk hill from which you can see from miles away just like that.
Good on you Luke. Thinking of the Family and the young ones. How nice is That. Enjoyed your video as always. When ever you do you videos will always looking forward. Knowing I am going to like your video Can’t remember how long I been following you but have always enjoyed your videos. Take from me being with your young ones growing up is northing better So wishing good luck with your New plans. Take care and Stay safe and safe Trucking.
A brilliant vlog Luke. Really like the new truck. Will be great when you are able to produce those videos more often. Look forward to that. Take care and stay safe.
Did my duke of Edinburgh in that area and remember the stones on our third day and walking up past the horse on the second day. Great walking in the area. Love the song playing whilst you were strapping up after pick up in tetbury.
Good luck with your future plans. Sounds like a good chance to achieve a better work-like balance and spend more time with your family, plus giving someone else the chance to earn some more overtime or a newcomer to get a foothold into the industry. Win-win either way!
I'd love to do this kind of work on flat beds, currently doing pallet work for TPN and its horrible, people ecspect you to get the pallets to impossible places
I really enjoy your videos keep them coming Luke. Roping and sheeting used to be such a pain when it was all soaking wet. Good luck with the new lorry, and be lucky. 👍🏴🇬🇧
Hi Luke Subscribed ages ago and really enjoy your vlogs. I know nothing about truck driving but you make each episode really enjoyable with your happy outlook. Looking forward to more👌👌 All the best and happy trucking!!
Good choice Luke, nothing matters more than your family, being a truck driver cost me my first marriage and my two boys. I could only see them every other weekend.👌👍
I think it's a great idea to take a extra day off. You don't have to feel pressured to give us more videos though. What matters is you spending time with your family which is lovely. This if just youtube not the most important thing in the world
New subsciber... really enjoy Your videos, learn't so much from Your view point as opposed to where I sit in a car, the better We understand each others needs the better.
Love your videos! Used to be a coach driver, You seem happy going into tight spaces that would have made me crap myself. Like narrow lanes. I admire your bottle :)
Yes Luke. As I’ve said before never second guess your self for making changes , I have done it all my life , and it was always a benefit to reach my goals . It sounds funny but the British SAS motto WHO DARES WINS . Go for it and good luck . Trucker AL retired . Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦🇬🇧
Luke I farm round Avebury, hate the nasty bend in the middle especially when you have a heavy load on! The road you used when the bloke was shaking his head was a cut through if you continue on the road you were on which was 2 way your come to a big round about (beck Hampton) which allows you to go along the A4 to either malrbrough which is the way you needed to go, Calne and then Devizes. Just for future reference.
I'm watching with interest and notice that your load is above the height of the headboard so in a front end collision the load could potentially move forward and come through the cab as there's nothing to arrest it's forward motion. At 12.58 ish did I also hear you say you would use roads that had road weight/lenght/width limits that your vehicle exceeds,if you needed to? SAFETY FIRST LUKE and remember it's your licence that takes the hit. Stay safe. a
Great plan for the future channel videos, I can only feel sorry for poor Harry & Son who will be losing a driver for one day a week with all the revenue they will lose from that.
That single track road is wider than the one Scott took that load of straw to the farm above Brecon a couple of years ago! It's when there is a green line up the middle of the road and the hedges are nearly touching in the middle that you worry😉😂😂 glad to hear that you are a good responsible family guy, I wasn't so lucky with my Ex husband sadly😥
Things are similar it seems between your patch of earth & mine. Nobody needs to get in a tight driveway till you need to get out. Then everybody shows up.
good explanation on the straps etc and you can put the excess strap in the plastic holes made by the forklift etc and around the pallet nogging if needed so that the wind cant pick it up etc
Love your videos, slowly catching up! Weird question, what watch face do you use for your Apple Watch! I’m a 3.5t driver and go over high peak and country roads quite often and would love to get an idea of the wind speeds and weather in my watch without needing to flick through! I’ve found one but doesn’t look as clean as the one you use 🤣 Also, you’ve helped me discover a new career path I eventually want to work to, thankyou!
Bloody hell Luke! I haven't watched your videos in months and months and you've put on so much weight!!! 😨😨😨 You need to start taking care of yourself man!
Luke, you could make your journeys motor interesting by telling where you passing thought and or what rout you take. As an Exeter boy who was a senior sales manager for STILL forklifts for Cornwall, Devon and Somerset until 1996 When I transferred to Johannesburg until 2017 now retired in.Southwest Europe. The trip you did to Sidmouth college, I tried to.fathom out which.rout you took, down to Cullumpton and across or was it down to Souton and out through Clyst St.Marry. The name of the services you transhipped in would have helped. Safe travels and enjoy your stores.
Think we Discussed on my last CPC that there is a Limit of 750 kg Difference Allowed between one side of the Trailor and the other side. I'll Try and Look it up in my Notes Somewhere but in Essence, that Pack of Timber would have to had been moved, one way or the other.
Yeah common sense says move over to Balance the load, (as I did) that being said the forklift has no obligation to do it, he good out right refused to touch anybody else’s wood for fear of damaging it. Then you’re stuck
Just subscribed to your channel and where are you delivering too Pewsey, went to school there for five years a long time ago I know the area well,it’s actually a canal and on the right keep up the good work and stay safe
We used to do a collection down Nr Pewsey , Manningford Bruce , place called Pure Pastures for Pets At Home Stoke , 1st time we went we went on Double deck wiv a moff on the arse end , let’s just say we pruned a few tree branches goin into it , after that they sent singles down lol , horrendous place to get into in a artic , thank f##k Downtowns do it now 🤣😂
Well, we know where the flat tyre came from, a nail from the saw mill :). Also, it would be an idea that instead of watching you a lot of the time, can we please see the view from where you are driving? I watch "Justtruckin". He's a truck driver in the USA (I'm not from there, I'm from Manchester, up north). But he's very good. Maybe you could watch some of his channels, and get an idea? Other than that, I do like your channel, and look forward to seeing more of you
Great video as always Luke! The one day off for work so you can edit does sound like a really good idea! Just like the last video as well I like it how you show us the hitch up / drop off at the end of the video.
Great video Mr C...... I know I do... but he didn't recognize me..... of course not, you had had a shave and wasn't eating a sausage..... :-) That gate at the end...... oi, some flump just closed the bloody gate on me..... yep, that be you with ya shove in to outer space.....
No the lane guidance warning is a diff noise, more than likely an ABS/EBS fault due to the connection on the trailer. DAF's are renowned for it..I know as I hear it every day lol
Hey Luke great vlog mate jenko delivered to a place there just before the bridge and its the vlog when he was on the containers and where he had a car go in the side of him in one of the lanes
Hi Luke i hope you and your wonderful lady partner and two wonderful daughters are all well and safe and i hope both of your family,s are all and safe has well another great vlog with great views has well just like always love this vlog like i love everyone of your vlogs my friend drive carefully and stay safe my friend
In Suggestion to your Editing, you could consider hiring a student or professional to edit your videos for you. My friend got hired by a TH-camr to edit her videos for her. So essentially you do all the recordings and then send them to your editor.
It's so easy now using straps, rope and sheeting was such a chore especially when the ropes were wet.
Always love to hear the destinations and what the load is,much better than other truckers blogs. Great to see the tyre was only flat at the bottom!
In the late sixties, I was stationed at Bickliegh in Devon. Myself and 3 other Geordie lads used to drive to Newcastle every other weekend in a Riley Elf. All that way in an Elf! By the time you get there you have to turn around and set back off again haha 😜
@@paulmulks You are right, it took about 12 hours. We could do 80 flat out. 😀😀
@@peterfrazer1943 Defo deserving of a few beers by the time you arrived then haha 🍻

A new follower here who is enjoying some great vids. Good luck with everything you do.

Love the song playing whilst you were strapping up after pick up in tetbury.
Hi Luke . The forward camera view is very good . And the in cab view is excellent .
Slamming the weight on pal. You not the trailer lol
Good luck with your future plans. Sounds like a good chance to achieve a better work-like balance and spend more time with your family, plus giving someone else the chance to earn some more overtime or a newcomer to get a foothold into the industry. Win-win either way!
PS. Great video as always, now that you are back off the repetitive dumper truck work.
PPS. Work-life balance (obviously) - fat fingers (again!)
Community Speed Nazis.... I mean wardens, you gotta love em 🙄🤪
I'd love to do this kind of work on flat beds, currently doing pallet work for TPN and its horrible, people ecspect you to get the pallets to impossible places
You can find any kind of driving job these days! Don't stick with what you hate!
I really enjoy your videos keep them coming Luke.
Roping and sheeting used to be such a pain when it was all soaking wet. Good luck with the new lorry, and be lucky. 👍🏴🇬🇧
"It's a little bit flat on the bottom". (35:34). In Australia the flat part is on top. 🤣😂🙃😅

You do what you can. Your children are 1st priority!
I thought I was taking my hazard again with those roads hahaha
Luke, if it means views like that, you're welcome to take the back roads any time you like!

You know why the stones are here.they fell of the back of a lorry on the why to Stonehenge.
Love your videos! Used to be a coach driver, You seem happy going into tight spaces that would have made me crap myself. Like narrow lanes. I admire your bottle :)

Good video luck again
Nice one Luke
Re your rant about more videos and less work time: The old adage is work smarter, not harder, whatever works best has got to be a win-win situation.
Hi luke great vlog I just had to swap trucks over nightmare putting your stuff in the right place all the best stay save 👍
That gate at the end...... oi, some flump just closed the bloody gate on me..... yep, that be you with ya shove in to outer space.....
Your DAF is reading road lines and goes off then you drive onto one.
No the lane guidance warning is a diff noise, more than likely an ABS/EBS fault due to the connection on the trailer. DAF's are renowned for it..I know as I hear it every day lol
Last month I worked 244 hours driving my class 1
I’ve delivered down there to Luke

Gr8 video as always. Who sets the amount of adverts that get uploaded? Only ask as your videos have so many adverts, literally every 5 mins.
Great video , but don’t need the music ! Sooner listen to the natural background .👍.

are we going to get a cab tour?
He said at the start he'll do one once all his stuff has found a home
Why It’s exactly the same as the last 1 they’ve never changed for 17 year…
In Suggestion to your Editing, you could consider hiring a student or professional to edit your videos for you. My friend got hired by a TH-camr to edit her videos for her. So essentially you do all the recordings and then send them to your editor.
How much does that cost though?
@@marcs990 Depends who you ask. Students would do it for a decent weekly pay. Since their students they likely sit on a computer all day.
We don’t all work long hours Luke, I’m on a 4 day week = 40 hours Tuesday-Friday.
4 day work week is so beneficial in almost every way, brings a nice work life balance i feel.
What's the meaning of the cobweb and spider tattoo?
