To be fair if your gaffa wants you to be shunting around the yard in the dark, he needs to Invest in some yard lights so you can see what you are doing.
Question: Not a truck driver, so why wasn't the trailer near the fence moved before you got there. Also why doesn't your boss install lighting that turns on by sensors looking after the property and trucks equipment etc. Also install solar lights with a battery free electricity, and also make the work area safe.
Fair play to you Luke. However, I don’t understand why in this day and age why trailers don’t come as standard with bright reversing lights and cameras. Great vlog Luke
So annoying when you damage the trailer but these things happen and at least it was the trailer you were parking up and not the one you were using next week. Dont know why reversing lights are not fitted to trailers. Thanks for a good video. Stay safe and take care.
So if your boss really cares about his drivers, then why not put up some basic lighting in the yard? Unnecessary dangers involved in the pitch black...
I always give a wafe when drivers let me go through.I respect the majority of truck drivers or lorry drivers in the UK.The majority are top notch making a living in stressful circumstances.
Another excellent video Luke, yes hindsight is a wonderful thing, if only you had plugged the lights in, the lights on the buses were all we had when parking upwards of 75 buses and coaches up when I was night shunting! Luckily never heard that cracking of plastic light lenses!😂 Keep up the good work and keep safe 😀🚛
That was some impressive reversing do you always have to connect all those cables even if you're only moving the trailer a little? I've always wondered why companies don't have cameras on the back of trailers, it's easy to run a cable along the trailer and then have some connector on the back of the lorry, kinda like how you connect those other cables. If I was a lorry/truck driver I would put so many cameras on my truck hahaha. This makes me wonder if wireless cameras with AP mode would work on trailers or if it's too far away from the cabin.
You can however you'll have no lights or trailer brakes ...and being as it was so dark it can be an issue ...you hook up,do tug test ,clip in and then push shunt button and trailer brake button in at same time ,that releases trailer brake without any leads
You are too contentious. If the boss said he would do the straps on Saturday, then accept it. Tell him to install some flood lights in the yard as well.
I live in bedworth. Crazy to see you there! The area you picked up from is Bayton road industrial estate and reason there's so many learners is cuz there is a test center just after you turned in at the lights. Its where I passed xD
Thank you Luke Enjoyed your video Hopefully your Bosses like your Shunting around in the Dark. May be he the Boss May put some floodlights up soon. Hopefully you had a Relaxing weekend with your family. How nice of your family to come out and help you. Thanks again. Take care and Stay safe and safe Trucking.
Just started watching your channel and it's a pleasure to watch.watched that trucker tim last week he's absolutely mental I would not let him know where one of my truck's take care see you soon 👍
Hi Luke just wondering what you do in regards to bridges. If your truck is 13.5ft high and the bridge is 13.7ft high would you still go under or is that too tight?
Absolutely, would go and do it mate. I’ll go under that 13 foot seven bridge with a 13 foot seven truck. If I hit the bridge, the bridge is marked wrong or the trailer is. Either way it wouldn’t be my fault.
luke at 7,47 theres a driving test centre on your right hence all the learners ,,that tile works was built on a old slag heap and waste ground , if you need a decent night out turn right out the gates go 100 yards and its dead peacefull over night and if your hungery theres a chinese close and a sainsburys at top of the road
Luke, When you were on Bayton Road, Bedworth you passed the Driving Test centre, hence the amount of learners, and there is lots of overnight parking down there. And if it's full the next industrial estate (Grovelands) is good for parking 👍 There is a barrier but it lifts automatically if you approach it slowly 😉
That's not an actual bird, I dont know the name in English but that thing is similar to a kite in a birds shape, its to scare other birds from shiting all over the yard I presume, you can briefly see the tiny slim pole to which it's attached to.
Asking you to do all that in the pitch black is crazy and your boss needs to either get some flood lights for the yard or stop asking you lads to manoeuvre with a blindfold on
Me my son Jacob we enjoy watching your channel we watching now having our roast dinner from Cotswolds have good evening Luke big thumbs up for channel 🤗
I remember my first fixed penalty fine. I got pulled over by a copper one morning and he asked me if I thought I'd forgotten something? I knew exactly what he was on about, the company I worked for at the time had a very lax attitude and the previous driver had forgotten to keep the trailer number plate so I had to travel without it. Anyway I said I don't think so. He asked me to follow him and when we got to the back of the trailer he just said, notice anything missing. I acted shocked and keeping up the pretence about his childishness and pettiness I shreiked, Quick, send for the police! He looked shocked and said, I am the police what's wrong? I said, I need to report the theft of my number plate. . . . I reclaimed the £15 fine off the company.

Boss as a catalog of companies who he’ll agree to work, but he has multiple drivers in different areas. He may have a delivery that must be picked up by a certain time for example and then a driver might have an issue and can’t get there so he’ll assign another driver.
