If Duran or Omorodion costs Chelsea 40m+, I would prefer spending 65m on Solanke or 80m on Isak/Alvarez. At least they are PL proven.
To be fair, Duran does have both Prem and Euro experience. And as a Villa fan, he is a quick learner, nothing phases him. Take a look at the goals he scored against Liverpool. That's Duran!

If we are willing to pay bigger money, why didn’t we target Cunha from Wolves? Maresca would be looking more for a Firmino type to tie the attack together rather than a target man. They would want experience, but still be in the age profile, and we could even have avoided losing the Lima kid we wanted for Strassbourg. AND they love Brazilians. more importantly, he has shown the quality that would lead you to think he at least had the chance to be elite if you were playing for a much better team.

John Duran does have other suiters than Chelsea including AC Milan,so I think he'll probably move on this summer & if not Villa have a young striker thats improving fast & had the ability too be top level. Duran would be better off being more patient & understanding he is being coached by one of the best around & content with his back up roll to Ollie Watkins who's 1st choice at Aston Villa for a good reason, he's smashing it right now. 😊

I get the purely financial, and I get that it needs to be there for the project to work. Omari and Datro Fofana can both be turned for substantial profit right now. They identified undervalued assets, gave them a platform, and raised their value.
This is nothing like that. Sami has not been scouted from a Norwegian league team, or picked up off the end of an Academy contract. They will not raise his value. He has the coordination of a baby deer. Dejuan Richards looks better. Paying huge money for this profile goes just as far against the plan as buy in by an older star does.
Our success has been greatest with younger players, not just Cole Palmer. But they were “star” young players. Gusto was a big name. Lavia and Palmer were already being heavily hyped, and we had a connection with them. We wanted Anthony Gordon… everyone thought we were insane.

Perhaps do some research before the standard sneeringly negative video yesterday. Omorodion has tons of suitors (like West Ham), large, powerful, links well, good stats, that's the profile some believe the modern game requires. You can disagree, but the "he must suck as I haven't heard about him" isn't enlightening. It's not 'purely financial', changing FFP rules makes buying youngsters a strategy many clubs will turn to vs. big blockbuster trades, and losing out on Champions League has obvious consequences.
Guirassy is 28-29 y/o and his team is in the Champions League this year. He has multiple teams courting him, one being Dortmund who also has Champions League who can give him a legit pay increase because his salary is so low currently.
If you’re Guirassy, given his age, why come to Chelsea this season? If we had Champions League, then it makes more sense.

The owners are not thinking at football level but they are thinking about how they can get money in the future from a younger players. In football sense, buying Guirassy for now is the best way so that he can play for couple seasons. And while, he is playing, Chelsea can take their time to get another striker in the future. I don't trust these owners. They can not joke with our hearts and sit on our happiness because they are rich. I believe that soon we the fans will force them to sell our team to a better owner. They don't think about wining but how they can start a project with chicks and when they become chickens then they sell them. The academy is there for such purpose. The academy is there to train the youth and promote some to the senior team and sell the others who don't make it to the senior team. The senior Chelsea team is not an academy, as such the current project should be aborted.
These owners need to be investigated it feels like they laundering money the way they are throwing it out on senseless deals
