Great recommendations! If I had to choose a book that fit into this category to recommend, it would be Light Years and the sequel Supernova by Kass Morgan. There’s not a lot of representation, but the little add in of it was a nice touch. Same thing goes for The 100. The 100 is by the same author
Definitely pick up "the long way to a small angry planet" by Becky Chambers, it's a scifi story that follows a very diverse crew on a spaceship, and many topics regarding LGBTQ+ and sexuality in general are explored. It's amazing.
I finished criers war the other day and loved it sooooo much!!! Just bought the queen of ieflaria and into the drowning deep because of your recommendation!! 💜
Thank you so much for sharing! I have added a lot more books to my to-read list. I would definitely recommend Avatar: The Rise of Kyoshi and Avatar: The Shadow of Kyoshi if you liked Avatar: The Last Airbender and Avatar: The Legend of Korra. It's such a good book series. It talks about the rise of Avatar Kyoshi and her Sapphic romantic relationship with her friend a firebender named Rangi.
Perfect timing. I needed some more recs for The Queer Lit Readathon in December. I LOVED Song of Achilles, Wilder Girls, and Into the Drowning Deep. Everyone needs to read Into the Drowning Deep, so amazing. I have read the first three books in the Wayward Children Series. Why have I never heard of Ice Massacre??? I will definitely check it out. Ok you said unicorn... I will check out The Queen of Ieflaria. Criers War is already on my TBR list. Thank you for these recs.💖💖💖
Thank you so much for this video! I really want to read more queer books but I just can't seem to get into any of the contemporary ones that are out there. So this list is just perfect and everything has been saved to my amazon wish list. :)
Can someone please recommend some fantasy/sci fi books where the main characters are gay men? All of these books sounds super interesting but I want to see myself represented and out of every lgbtq+ book I’ve seen on these lists all the ones featuring gay men were recommended solely because it’s lgbtq+, not because it’s a good book
I haven’t read it myself, but I heard Winters Orbit is pretty great. It’s a sci bi with two princes in an arranged marriage solving a mysterious murder in the family.
I am in love with Michael Taggart's Fledgling God series. It's getting better with every book. The third book is on the way; the author reads finished chapters on his TH-cam channel - and it is sooo sooo good. I can't praise it enough.
Oh and also: We are the ants - it’s m/m set in high-school and there’s alien stuff and a lot of what’s the meaning of life kinda vibes, very good, too!
lmfao i’m about to order the darker shade of magic trilogy💅. then ima get the villian duology(maybe) and the invisible life of addie la rue(possibly) and definitely preorder the sequel to what if it’s us, the extraordinaries and the extraordinaries : flash fire by tj klune. gotta do a bunch of work for money though first💔
I’m in the middle of Ice Massacre - it’s awesome so far. The Wayward Children series, including the first book, has a trans male character, featured heavily in some of them. It’s one of my favorite series of all time!
Shatter the Sky by Rebecca Kim Wells is one of my top books of the year. Please, more people read this book so I have people to talk about it with! The main character goes on a rescue mission when her girlfriend is kidnapped. Her method of rescuing said girlfriend, you ask? Stealing a dragon, and being awesome.
absolutely great recommendations! I've read three of these and they were amazing (will read the rest soon) I'll throw one queer sci-fi book rec of my own and that's THIS IS HOW YOU LOSE THE TIME WAR by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. It's f/f and absolutely *chefs kiss*
One that I would recommend that’s a grimdark epic fantasy stand-alone is Viscera by Gabriel Squailia. It’s one of my all-time faves, but be sure to look up trigger warnings because it has a lot.
Thanks for the recommendations, I've only got like five books on my shelf after a move so I'm in the market for something new, and preferably diverse :)
Thanks for the recommendations! It would be helpful if you could hold the books still without covering up the titles or the authors for a bit. You say the author so fast it’s easy to miss it. Looking forward to reading these.
Since Ice Massacre is a part of a series, does it have a cliffhanger at the end of it? It sounds interesting but I’d hate to be left with a cliffhanger and know the series goes downhill from there.
i recommend Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir! it’s about lesbian necromancers in space, and i honestly couldn’t ask for more lol
*pretends I haven’t already read it twice*
That's such a good book! I love it.

I love this one! And the second book in that series A Close and Common Orbit is a great sequel.
@@Rosebro111 a close and common orbit is probably among one of my favorite books of all time.
For Sci-Fi, I would recommend ,The Long way to a small angry Planet‘ by Becky Chambers. Its one of my favorites 💕💕💕
YES
I finished criers war the other day and loved it sooooo much!!! Just bought the queen of ieflaria and into the drowning deep because of your recommendation!! 💜
Ahhh yay!

i haven’t seen the show (don’t come for me) but i’m interested in the book. do you think i’d still like it?
Ooo I’ve heard such great things about into the drowning deep!
I highly recommend it! Great wlw, Deaf and autistic characters.
Great list. Thanks for posting. My new book, The Pox Academy is a YA fantasy book full of gay/bi characters. Hearstopper meets Harry …
The Abyss Surrounds Us is so good! I heard recently that it has a sequel now!

The Song of Achilles (although you've probably read it), Six Of Crows

Have you read The Darkness Outside Us? It’s m/m sci-fi set in space and so so good!

the queen of ieflaria sounds so cool omg
Thank you so much for all of these amazing recs 😍😍😍😍
I love your channel! Just had to say it, just being honest.❤️
Thank you 💛

Omg this sounds amazing
I was really enjoying the worldbuilding too. There are some really creative ideas that I haven't really ever seen pertaining to dragons in fantasy.

Ok i need Wayward Children cause ace rep 😍💜

I need to read Wilder Girls and Into the Drowning Deep ASAP!!!
Yes 👏🏻 you 👏🏻 do 👏🏻
ONe of the best sci-fi books I've ever read...
The Darkness Outside Us by Eliot Schrefer
I like the abyss surrounds us(5 out of 5), but I feel like the sequel is incomplete and had more potential(2 out of 5)
lovee! so many to add to my list 👀can we also taLK abOUT THIS IS HOW YOU LOSE THE TIME WAR 😍🙏
I CANT BELIEVE I FORGOT TO INCLUDE THAT OMG IM A DISAPPOINTMENT
So excited for this!!
The contet I NEED

You are just adorable.
The Last Herald Mage Trilogy by Mercedes Lackey
Thanks for subtitles italian💖

Kind of? I personally didn’t feel the absolute need to pick the next one up right away though
Hmmm.. I might pick it up and give it a whirl. Thanks for replying! 😁
Do I need to read Mira grants novella “Rolling in the deep” before I read Into the drowning deep?
Were do you get the books? You buy them or....?
I buy some of them but I'm lucky to have a really good library too
