    A great video thanks.
    More local governments should get Showgrounds accomodation happening. I know it annoys some of the local caravan parks, but it does mean more are likely to stay overnight, particularly if the area is centrally located.

      Yes totally agree, every time we’ve stayed at showgrounds and the like we spend more in town across several local businesses not just the expensive cp
      Thanks for watching cheers

    I like a good pub stay. There are so many of them around you don't realise until you start looking. it's really good when I have all the facilities as well. My problem is I tend to spend a little bit too much in the bar sometimes but that's my problem. Great video: Wenda and Paul😀😀

    Thanks for sharing that stay option. Jugiong is a great free stop point on that route. Lots of other good points of interest just off the Hwy.
    A basic DC-DC charger at 20amps would fully charge your batteries while driving if you do plenty of Kms between stays.

    • @beyondthegreyoz
      @beyondthegreyoz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, yes so many options along the way, we have stayed at Jugiong and loved it. The Sir George hotel was pretty good too. We have the DC-DC but bon’t think ours is charging properly from the car?

    Loved this video guys, we love Pub camping as well. Boy those Parmys would feed both of us lol. That tap in Bowral (we used to live there) was in a ridiculous spot though lol.

      Yeah that tap was tricky to get to! And no more Parmys for a while 😆

    Great episode guys. We've actually overnight stayed at some service stations (RV welcoming ones) which haven't been too bad. Truck noise was ok, i didn't mind it. Cheers Marie.

    Hey guys, love your content, always interesting and not too extreme. Had a big chuckle when I heard you mentioned the SS&A in Albury for parking your big van, we struggle to get a park there in the middle of the week when having a meal there, ALWAYS very very busy. Probably not your best idea, but interesting to see you have a go. Happy trails..PS Just for anyone else thinking of the SS&A, it can get a little noisy at night 🙂

    • @beyondthegreyoz

    Thank you for sharing your trip … roughly how many hours do you drive per day , as in from stop over to next stop over… Also how many days in total did it take from NSW to Victoria?
    Enjoy your time with family and friends

      Thanks, on this trip we averaged 4.5 hr each move (normally aim for 3.5) which was fine as there was no set up. We left Brunswick Heads on Saturday and arrived Riddells Creek Thursday (3 nights in Albury to work)

    It's a win-win for travellers when you camped at the Hotel's backyard/garden, especially when travellers in a town with no low-cost camping or free camping. Travellers get to support the local business, too 😁. Bowral is a beautiful and reach country area. We often went there in autumn season for photography. Did u guys get Starlink?

    • @beyondthegreyoz
      @beyondthegreyoz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it is a great way to experience a town and that whole area is beautiful with places like Berrima the falls out that way. We did get Starlink and had it for 2 weeks. The speeds are inconsistent and has dropped out a couple of times, but it will allow us to go anywhere now. I’m going to do a video shortly

    I allways find it better to unhitch and move forward slightly then level van nth/ sth. Dont know how the legs take the " pressure " off the springs

    • @beyondthegreyoz
      @beyondthegreyoz  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep I hear what you’re saying, although some of the places say “do not unhitch”. The legs stop any added weight being transferred to the hitch when we are in the van

    Is it worth selling up and travelling full time at 71 yrs old

    • @beyondthegreyoz
      @beyondthegreyoz  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JohnCole-qv1fd great question, not sure we could answer that. However what we can say is that we are happy with our decision to sell up and travel full time. We would like to think that at 71 we will still be traveling. It all depends on our health and mobility. When it’s time to stop or slow down there are caravan parks in some pretty nice places.

      Why's that?
      Many caravan parks are over priced .
      For us we cant justify cost in some of the big name parks especially when we dont want or use all the " play equipment. We Free camp when ever we can and do stay at showgrounds ect

    Whilst interesting some of those spots are dreadful. I would prefer a secluded free camp by a river or use the money that you pay for a meal which can be upwards of $60 for camp by a river than behind a pub. They can be interesting on a Saturday nigh when locals get a skin full and have a disagreement.
    Interesting tho.

    • @beyondthegreyoz
      @beyondthegreyoz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Yeah must admit it’s not something we would do a lot of. But Country Pub Camping is one option and there are some iconic pubs around that are worth a visit. We’ve also had those Saturday night experiences!
