In this video, we review drug advertisement questions and how to approach them. These are showing up on NBME exams more frequently as the exams have been updated and there is increasing emphasis on interpreting medical literature. We go through some example questions and cover the common themes that show up most frequently as well as review some of the basic principles of epidemiology and biostatistics that are highly testable.

Thank you Tim! For your Jakafi example, do we just assume that they did a valid study with appropriate significance all the the ad itself gives no details on how the study was conducted?

Yes, that's exactly the thought! Unless you can see the measures of significance in detail or if they mention some internal flaws of the study, it's usually best to just interpret with those assumptions (unless they specifically mention otherwise).
