    Dr. Tim, i'm an old IMG from Nigeria. I just want to thank u for the work u have done in these reviews including peds, surgery and other videos. Your reviews come from a place of deep, foundational understanding of concepts. Thank u for all u have done and will keep doing. May God bless u more! Amen.

    Found this 6 days before my step 2 exam. So, so, so good. Can't believe I didn't find this sooner. Keep it up!

    I'm a grad student in an SMP, and we get to take the shelf to try to improve our final grade in neuroanatomy. This video is so helpful! Thank you!

      @@Doctor_Tim do you have any advice for the Neuroscience preclinical shelf? Is it similar to this material? thanks so much

    • @Doctor_Tim
      @Doctor_Tim  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Laura Ashley The preclinical exam is a bit different than the shelf! The questions that are clinical will be more straightforward diagnoses compared to the shelf. But in exchange there is much more basic science neurology (lesion localization, microbiology, tumor pathology, etc.)
      Some of that is covered here, but I want to cover the basic sciences more in depth (just haven't gotten around to it quite yet)
      First Aid and Usmle Rx are both pretty decent resources at covering basic sciences at the level covered on this exam!

      Thank you so much for taking the time to reply! I just took the shelf this morning and this video helped a lot for reading CTs! We get two chances so I’ll follow your advice if I take it again. :)

    Also should mention that you would want surgical intervention in a cerebellar hemorrhagic stroke due to its location near the brainstem!

    @46:05 where it is said "they appear distressed or they are worried about it that tells you that its more depression related"... I think I got a vignette where the patient said "I don't know" or couldn't be bothered about the dementia, this I'm pretty sure is pseudodementia. Vis a vis if they are distressed while trying the tests but frustrated or anxious about their failure on the tests, then it is more likely dementia proper.

    Odd you don't include posterior circulation stroke in your differential of vertigo. It's the one everyone is afraid to miss and much more common than acoustic neuroma or Meniere's.

      That's a great point, and one that's very dangerous to miss as you mentioned.

      That's great to hear! Yes, it should be uploaded to the site in the content tab. You should be able to download the slides from there.
