38. Narrowboat Cruise to Gayton Junction where the Northampton Arm meets the Grand Union Canal

Today I set off from near Nether Heyford and reach my destination of Gayton Junction where the Northampton Arm meets the Grand Union Canal. With another lovely day ahead of me it’s perfect for a narrowboat cruise.

Thoroughly enjoyed accompanying you on your voyage. On the North Florida Gulf Coast, where I live and used to sail, that would have been a long one day trip. I would have had to sail out about one mile from shore, most likely tack against the wind for about 18 hours, navigate back through shoals and shallows to finally reach a, probably not my desired, destination. While enjoyable, if you like sailing, there would have been no scenery other than the Gulf waters, no way to rest except by heaving to, and definitely not the ambiance of a narrowboat voyage! It is lovely to join you on your continuing journey. I did like the telephone mast "tree". Your videos are always well edited, interesting, warm and relaxing; no unnecessary speeded up footage to spoil the relaxing pace of canal life.

Thanks Keith. I’m trying to give the viewer the impression that they are on the boat with me. I occasionally speed footage up where a process is slow but I share your view that a lot of speeded up footage is not relaxing to watch.

Nice vlog, The Wharf pub at Bugbrooke has a great menu. Not many travel the Northampton Arm (possibly because of the amount of locks) but great for walking the dog.
