Appreciate your videos. There is one weed i have that i need to get out of my lawn which is wild violet. I am local to you so i have a lawn with fescue and zoysia in different areas. What should i use on the zoysia to eradicate the wild violet?
My background building and managing pga and lpga championship golf courses. Degrees in plant pathology and entomology from umass. Good channel. Great info. Drive we use big time for crabgrass. Good products for ground ivy clover etc. ground is cold in massachusetts still got some time for our fert with dimension applications
How would I go about getting my applicators license for spraying herbicides / pesticides? I live on the other side of the state from you(MO). I’ve been trying to find study guides on this but don’t know for sure. Any advice would be appreciated. Ty
Visit the MO Dept of Agriculture website for testing information in your area. University of Missouri sells the study guides, core exam manual and turf & ornamental manual. You need to take both test to get licensed 👍🏻
What do you suggest for grassy weeds where pre and post emergent won't touch, such as fescue patches? I get random patches of stuff in my yard. Should I just roundup or dig them out?
Thanks for sharing! Getting back into taking care of my yard after a few years. I really let it go once i had kids now I want it nice and healthy for the family to enjoy. I did a full reno using sod (tall fescue) 3 years ago, and it’s getting pretty thin in some areas. I’m debating putting down some tenacity this weekend and over seeing or just overseeing. I don’t have too many weed issues. Just used to doing it previously… I’m in St. Charles do you have a go to local landscape shop you recommend for seed, and other products? Ive been buying online but would love to support local. Keep up the awesome work!
The best lawn care advice I ever got was NOT to put down a pre-emergent out of habit, or because everyone seems to recommend it. Make sure you actually have a serious crabgrass problem or other serious weed pressures first. I've gone 7 years without putting it on my Southern Idaho one acre KBG lawn, and I can easily get by with just a few rounds of spot spraying. Instead, I focus on making the turf itself thrive. That saves me hundreds of dollars each year, and it better for the environment.
whats a good quality backpack sprayer???
@@jedknutson8373 I like Flowzone or Spraymate Tornado as an entry level sprayer.

Very well said!
I always use a small amount of urea when I spray herbicides so the weeds think they are getting some food and BAM! Dead!
This is a great strategy. I like to use AMS as well, it has a little quicker uptake.
I think you just answered that question lol
Absolutely! Thanks for watching.
