Some people from my fantasy larp are making a PA game. We are using airsoft guns and boffer weapons. It is scheduled for around 5 months from now so we can get ready and what not but im stoked.

+JayJay Golden we're going with airsoft for ultra realism. Foam blasters take away from the immersion, on the other hand airsoft guns look and function just like the real steel version. It's a better dynamic if you ask me. Also if I'm in full Larp gear I won't feel the foam darts hit me.
christopher eckbold Ah. In my country we use foam darts, which i'm glad about. Foam blasters are fun to modify, chop up and peronalize. Besides, BB/airsoft guns are illegal here, and they scare me. But I do get why in a hyper realistic post apocalyptic LARP you'd want to use airsoft.
+JayJay Golden yea you can modify airsoft guns to look however you want like there's halo mods, or outer space mods, the options are limitless also we can get more range and accuracy out of airsoft. It's just really fun and they don't hurt as much as you'd think they more less make a noise.
I want to try a post apocalypse larp. I've got an idea I want to try. Take a foam rubber battle axe and build it into the stock of a fake shotgun. So in close range or when out of ammo I just turn it around and start acting like it's a more traditional larp, with battle axes.
Got this idea. Going out as a post apocalyptic cinephile. So the guy has spent His entire life in a bomb shelter, no one else since he was a little kid. Just him and a computer system filled with old movies. So he goes out into the world with no other clues of how people act
Yes, know that Skian Mohr sold LARP Latex weapons, still think they do.However I don't think they fired. You experiment with making your own, seen pictures of people that have made their nerf guns into big Warhammer 40k spacemarine gun's. It is just a matter of putting foam in the right places :)
LarpForge although potentially dangerous, if you apply certain safety rules to the whole thing, it'd be actually really cool to implement airsoft weapons to the larp, as well as implementing ammo loots across the whole area

Mages in post apcalypse larps... Yes, they do exist. Doomsayers, psi-weilders, shamans. I've been involved with a few larps that have this all going on.
+JayJay Golden mainly Nerf and foam blasters, since they look "fake", so other people not in the LARP get scared. But what you choose is up to your game/setting. Some places use airsoft, but the weapon is always make sure that the tip is marked so its clear that its a fake weapon. Every weapon have some possibilities' and restrictions, like protective gear, amount of ammo, weather you need to inform the local police or not, etc.
+JayJay Golden Just googled the nerf lawbringer, damn that is a mean (mean in this case meaning good) looking gun :D Love the fact that NERF guns are so customizable . Don't have one myself, but defiantly would like to try and modify one.
LarpForge I'm gonna cut off the stock and barrel and just have an oversized 12 shot revolver. Then put in a new spring to increase range and fps and whatnot, maybe add some metal plating to the body here and there, and then paint it red with a yellow black danger/warning stripe pattern somewhere- probably on the rotating cylinder. And ofc dry brush it with silver.
+Zcahary Khan Hehe, well Dennis just got sucked into a box with a fantasy or in this case post apocalyptic world in it, by the all-powerfull gipsy :) This is was back with we where trying to connect the tutorials with stories, unfortunately it took a extremely lot of time, so we kind of moved away form that idea ^_^ but at some time it the furture we might get back to a point where we can finish the this rather confused storyline... hehe.
