Today a week after doing this video I find myself on the net looking for old pictures of Fitties and Beacholme and came across a Beachholme collection by a Francis Frith, there's pics from 1960 onwards some showing the pool, wimpy bar, the kids pool, the old chalets, and of course the old caravans. just as i mentioned it from memories, pure gold, thank you to Francis, by the way these are all copyrighted so cant be used by anyone but anyone wanting a nostalgic revisit take a look.
Great memories of the place KT, sadly the quietness of the place of the kids screaming having fun in the pool, and the busyness of all the people milling around it was sad to see, I thought so anyway. then onto Fitties finally nailed it for me because that's where I ended it and closed it with mum and dad and of course our Ann, which is strange because we go each year, but doing the video was totally different, like saying goodnight to em. and SWEET Coco, was released late 71 so would have been 72/73 is that what I said?
new subscriber here - used to stay on Thorpe Park ( now Cleethorpes Beach) as owners but sold up a couple of years ago - Great to see Cleethorpes again and the fitties
We use to have a caravan at Beacholme in the 1960s we were there most weekends and like you said all the family use to go - grandma, grandad uncles aunties, if you were posh you stayed in the chalets
@TinaGorman-ef4hk hi Tina the place was lifeless the vans have been placed too close to each other and too close as you see to the main run through road to get to your intended van
