I was joined to the Orthodox Church this past Lazarus Saturday. I am so unworthy of this joy. Eternal Joy. Yet, having taken the leap into Orthodoxy, I feel assured of God’s forgiveness and the true hope of the life to come, but I must endure.
There is nothing within my soul but pain and suffering and despair at this moment. I have just overcome some of the most painful spiritual warfare that has ever come upon me, but by the grace of the LORD, and by his powerful strength, not mine, I have overcome this through prayer, Father, I am so scared of the mental warfare to come, I am 15 and I try to give up everything for the hopes of salvation that the LORD may give me by his grace. This warfare is so painful and it is so hard, Lord have mercy. Oh God, free me from the pains of this earth.
I'm no one special in terms of being in any authoritative position. From my experience I was depressed for a very long time and so had a lot of time to think about things. One thing that had helped me a little is when I questioned the nature of despair. I realized it's illogical. Basically it's making the forgone conclusion that the future is bad. It seems that it's the presumption with conviction that we know the future. Obviously no man can ever know that. I don't pretend to know what you're going through but I hope this could be at least one thing that can help, as an encouraging thought. 🙏
I can relate. I am 54. I wish I could offer encouragement but today is not a good day for me, sorry. I can pray for you though because I can relate to your pain and suffering. Keep praying and read your Bible! God bless.

You said you try and give up everything for the hopes of salvation... O dear one you can never ever earn your salvation by your own good merit my friend, it is a free gift. The bible says we all have fallen short of the glory of God and just like sheep we have all gone astray. That is why God sent His only Son Jesus who never sinned to become sin for us and pay our penalty because of His great love for fallen sinful people. He paid for our sin and all we have to do is believe that He died and rose again so that we might have eternal life with Him now and forever. Acknowledge that your a sinner in need of His forgiveness and believe that Jesus paid the price on the cross for you. Then He will send His Holy Spirit to live in you and guide you, teach you, comfort you and open your understanding to the things of God especially when you read His Word the bible. You are dearly loved and God never intended for you to live in torment. His perfect love casts out fear❤

I had a gambling problem for years and it nearly killed me from a suicide attempt. By the grace of God and intercessorary prayer I have been delivered from it. Think of how excited you get when you have money and your on your way to gamble, then Think of the horrible, sick, rock bottom feeling you get arter you lose all of your money. You must go to God's word EVERY time you have a thought about gambling and God's living breathing word will renew your mind

You must rely on God in all aspects of life, even financially. Remove the idea of ever getting even with the casino. The casino is of the world however, you are a child of God and when you walk with Christ he will provide everything for you that you need. Let go of the losses, let go of the pain, let go of the sorrow . Turn to God pray to him ask for strength and guidance and he will land you in a place of uprightness. But you must endure.
We must always remember that 2 persons are watching us: 1. God, who loves us endlessly, who suffered for us and can forgive us 2. The Devil, who sacrificed his power, intelligence and beauty, just to get you to disobey God One gave his life so you can live, the other gave his life so you can die

Tips if you're struggling with reading the bible or sin: Put times: put times between 2 or 1 hours bible reading, put 5:00 a.m alarms or 6:00 a.m Pray often: the first thing you have to do after waking up is praying and before bed too, find a comfy place were it's quiet and pray like mathew 6:9-13 says and then pray for everygone in the world who is trying to find Jesus (not detailed just for everygone in hospitals, people that are homeless, people with mental health issues and people that want they want other people to pray for them and there family) remember to say it generally Memorize verses: memorizing verses helps you trought spiritual warfare bc the holy spirit helps you with bible verses surrender to God all your battles with temptation: yes, pray and let God fight your battles, meanwhile set a timer of 23 minutes and do other things like: drinking water, reading the word, or praying set a journal: this can help you, put hours and things you want to do prioritize God above EVERYTHING: do prayer walks (if you can't go out then do it in your house while you're doing different chores) sleep early and wake up early so you can pray and read the bible, if you have freetime then watch christian memes or put some worship songs go to church, go meet new friends that are in the path of God, if a friend causes you to sin, then is not your friend hope this helps Jesus loves you❤

I became a christian almost one year ago, some days I lived with Christ and I was happy because I was fully on my cross, I was fully in my purpose, I used to and also use to think about him literally every second of the day, I can't stop and also i don't want to but my faith is becoming thinner everyday, I don't know what to do, I learned so much during the past year but now I am struggling with my faith and I don't know what is the problem, but I have no one that is a devout christian to talk to, I am becoming very sad. You mentioned not having anyone to talk to- the man speaking is an orthodox priest. Do you belong to an orthodox parish? I would say that’s the first step. They become like a family to you, in my experience. I’m very close to my parish’s priest, his wife, their children, and the other members. Find a good orthodox parish and you will have many people to talk to and they will help you because they are your brothers and sisters in Christ. Make sure the parish is Eastern Orthodox (not Byzantine Catholic, and not oriental orthodox). Ask the priest there to be your spiritual father, and he will help you with all of these things on your mind, my friend. God bless!
That is normal. The grace retreats after the initial overwhelming joy, so that YOU embrace the fight now, remembering the grace. This is well documented and confirmed again and again in the orthodox monastic tradition.

I became a christian almost one year ago, some days I lived with Christ and I was happy because I was fully on my cross, I was fully in my purpose, I used to and also use to think about him literally every second of the day, I can't stop and also i don't want to but my faith is becoming thinner everyday, I don't know what to do, I learned so much during the past year but now I am struggling with my faith and I don't know what is the problem, but I have no one that is a devout christian to talk to, I am becoming very sad. God bless my friends.
You mentioned not having anyone to talk to- the man speaking is an orthodox priest. Do you belong to an orthodox parish? I would say that’s the first step. They become like a family to you, in my experience. I’m very close to my parish’s priest, his wife, their children, and the other members. Find a good orthodox parish and you will have many people to talk to and they will help you because they are your brothers and sisters in Christ. Make sure the parish is Eastern Orthodox (not Byzantine Catholic, and not oriental orthodox). Ask the priest there to be your spiritual father, and he will help you with all of these things on your mind, my friend. God bless!

That is normal. The grace retreats after the initial overwhelming joy, so that YOU embrace the fight now, remembering the grace. This is well documented and confirmed again and again in the orthodox monastic tradition.

I love listening to your discourses, Father. It is not easy to talk with many folks about the vital things of God. Just as the world was not ready when Christ first came in the flesh and they imagined He would do a variety of earthly things for them; then quickly turned their backs on Him when He surrendered to crucifixion, I fear many will not be ready when He appears the 2nd time.
