      @@CDOES the optika6 4.5-27x50 with Z-plex reticle overall feel and build quality is good. The turrets are tactile without being so aggressive that you risk over running them. I also like the aggressive texturing and oversized controls. I didn't do any box testing or enough rounds down range to judge tracking accurately. The glass is were it under performed the most for me. It struggled to focus sharply at anything beyond 150 yards and the eye box was terribly tight. Image brightness and clarity was equal to optics in the $199-$350 price range. This optic taught me a lesson about chasing glass in optics under $1000 price point. This model is made in China, and the glass is on par with other entry level Chinese optics, except for build quality. It felt SOLID, very similar to the defunct Crimson Trace Japanese optics.

      @@larrydecker881 sounds like you don't have much experience with the scope to judge. You will have different impression of the glass during changing conditions but nothing in this scope is Chinese. It's made in Czech Republic and everyone I ever talked to had nothing but praise for the Meopta optical quality for the money. You can clearly see it in comparisons. Your review sounds a little off and disingenuous in my opinion

    I have been building rifles for 8 years now and i also shoot 1000yd bench rest. Over the years of different optics i can tell you Meopta is one of the clearest on the market with excellent field of view that track 100%, hold zero and stand by there warranty. Infact i own 4 of them and in clarity i actually like it better than the Nightforce Competition on my f open rifle. Only scope i ever used that is better is my March X 8-80×56mm on my light gun class benchrifle but it also cost $3k more too. Meopta blows vortex out of the water too

    If you go to 8:09 in the video, it seems to me that your camera is farther back on the meopta, look at the Christmas lights. So that would make the field of view smaller on the meopta!! Just my observation!! I just purchased a meopta over vortex!! I went to buy a new scope, vortex, asked to look through it, then he handed me the meopta. Pretty substantial difference in glass and clarity, same warranty, so I got it!!

    Agree with what you said about the magnification. Shooting off hand i use 2x on targets within 30meters and Shooting beyond up to 100meters as i shoot mostly rimfire, i use 4x Max maybe 5x. I get consistent off hand hits this way. Using anything over is only good for assisted Shooting. Usually my max mag of choice on my variable power scopes is anywhere from 10 to 20x. Only bought a 6 to 24x once and have since never used it. Have a hard time using the 6x for fast off hand shots and too much wobble and too much time to control that movement for me at 24x even at the bench.😁

We have been seeing the Meopta Optika6 1-6x24 RD FFP for some time with that high turret that attracts a lot of attention, but like me, many people do not have information about this LVPO. If you do not bother, I could ask you if you can, take it into account and if you can, do a review of the Meopta Optika6 1-6x24 RD FFP. We will be attentive, because it seems to be of quality. I have allready bought a Meopta Optika 6 4,5-27x50 SFP BDC 3. It can NOT be compared with any Vortex scope below newest Razor series - mayby. Rather Zeiss Conquest HD, Delta Stryker. In Europe in this price range one could barely buy cheapest Vortex Viper PSTII series scope. An optic crap. As user of many good optics I have to admit, that our friends from Czech Republic have hit the market with almost sub-premium optics in mid-budget price. Pros: glass quality (reslolution, zero problems with low sun, light transmission, contrast, sharpness, natural colors) - all up to almost highest magnification with low AC. At 27 x is still very good. Mechanics!!! Turrets & cliks&zero stop! Ilumination of central point - very crisp. Cons - not spoted yet.

      I agree certain lines of Meopta Optika 6 series are very strong. Similar to Delta Stryker HD line --- both EU-based, high value, premium glass + feature options that are proven abroad and seem "newer" to US-based clientele. Excited to see them deliver and challenge domestic offerings so products keep getting better due to strong competition.

    I completely understand Field of View angle, and I can see the difference at timeline 7:24 in which the PST shows more of the length of the electric pole . What I don't understand is why is the circle for the Optika scope shown in the side by side comes up as much smaller. Does it have a smaller ocular size?
    In regards to sharpness you can really see the difference at timeline 11:51 in which you can see that the blue house has siding and on the PST it just looks like it's just blue paint. Also the tree limbs and leaves are much sharper on the Optika. The Optika scope looks like a winner to me.

    Very interesting and a good pair to do a "versus" comparison video on. To summarize the strong points of the glass in each, based on my observations, with your guidance...
    PST:
    - More contrast
    - Better FOV
    - Less CA fringing (goes against your statement, but based on what I see in this video the Optika has more purple fringe)
    Optika:
    - Brighter (Likely what makes purple fringe more apparent to your recording device)
    - Sharper
    - Better depth of field
    - Better edge clarity when erector isn't centered
    I have 2 Viper PST G2's, but I'm not a brand loyal type person. The one area I've felt my 5-25 lacks is sharpness. I had my eye on the bigger Optika 6, and while it is a little bit better based on this comparison, I'm wondering if you can recommend a step or two beyond the Optika 6. Other scopes on my list to be investigated are the Burris XTR III and Athlon Cronus. The XTR Pro and Razor II are past what I'm wanting to spend (>$2k). Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. They're very good.

    • @commonsense5709

      I'd recommend buying the Tract Toric ELR instead. I have the Cronus BTR and the Tract Toric ELR is optically and mechanically a noticeably better scope given the same price point. Even the Trijicon Tenmile 4.5-30x56 is better than the Athlon Cronus BTR and is in sale right now for only $1050 for the SFP model at Scopelist and Euro Optic while all other dealers currently sell these SFP models for $1700 - $2000. It's a $2755 MSRP scope. You'd really be surprised what kind of scope covers are included too. Their Tenmile 4-24x50 SFP are also on sale for $780.

    My perspective the Op6 has a few significant deficiencies and one deal breaker that I can not live with. The edge fringe (vignette) really bothered my eye especially with the limited FOV (to much tunnel vision with blurred edges on Op6). The mirage is more noticeable too on the Op6 at higher magnification. As mentioned before, FOV is very restrictive on the Op6 for my shooting needs. Wider FOV, less vignetting on the PST is more important to me than slightly better center clarity of the Op6. But the PST is pretty darn sharp across the whole optic plane, while the Op6 bothers me with edge focus drop off. No excuse for just center illumination on the Op6 versus having the complete vertical and horizontal illumination on the PST. The big deal breaker why I would not get the Op6 is the poor reticle design. No vertical distance marks for hold unders. With a 100 or 200 yard zero and you want to engage a 25- or 50-yard target, just adjust using the reticle quickly inside of the optic. You can’t do that with the Op6 at all. I can’t believe you did not discuss this problem with the reticle on the Op6. I have two Meopta scopes and love them and they have some of the best glass for the price. Got my first Meopta scope over 30 years ago. With all this said I just picked up the exact same Vortex Viper PST gen2 EBR-2C scope for $550. Can’t beat it for the price. Keep up the great work you are doing with your reviews.

    I stopped the scene at 8:54 and I believe the optics of the Optika 6 is better than the PST 2.
    1. The image is slightly brighter in the Optika
    2. There is some chromatic aberration (slight violet haze) around the edges of the objects in the outer 7:30 clock position of the PST 2
    3. The image of the objects in the Optika looks a bit sharper and their color contrast more clearly than the PST 2.

      @CDOES  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It solely depends on the intended usage. 3-18 for practical and positional shooting inside a certain distances. 4-27 for anything that will require longer shots, better target comprehension, or just tighter groups.

    It's obvious you are affiliated/bias with Meopta, the Vortex, surprisingly destroyed this comparison if you know what to look for, what is more concerning to me is that I suspect you may be trying to intentionally put the Meopta on a pedestal regardless of actual performance, maybe they gave you scopes to review, not sure. The evidence the vortex is better? You only need to see (two) parts of the video to illustrate my point. 12:00 onwards within the same scene shows your parallax for Meopta adjusted for optimal range for the house in view you are trying to show, whereas the the Vortex is being dialed in to look bad on purpose, not only is the Vortex in this picture clearly parallaxed incorrectly, you'll notice the power lines you described at about 30 yards. They have much more detail than the Meopta, why? Because you put the parallax between 100-250 yards on a 300+ yards objective and instead of showing that the Vortex has better detail and workability than the Meopta, you choose to ''push it'' like you are making money off the sale. I'm sorry, but make a new video posting the same Meopta vs Vortex video and show the true difference, your audience will appreciate the truth more instead of pushing sale. I am also from NY and I notice the NY/Jersey attitude. Drop it, folks interested in these things aren't type same type of liberal folk you are trying to sell your gabagool. Work the parallax correctly and do a fair review and maybe your content will be useful. P.S @c_does Also, did you not clearly see the meopta tracking that you do? The son of a bitch was off by 1/4-1'' with every windage adjustment. Surprising considering Meopta is supposed to be made my March which is a fantastic company.

      No, different optics have different Field of View (FOV) at the same magnification.
      All optics have the FOV get smaller as you zoom in, and larger as you zoom out. However how much FOV you have available to begin with is dependent on the design of the optic.

      The Viper PST 2 is made in the Philippines. The Strike Eagle, Venom, Diamondback Tactical, Crossfire 2 and below are made in China. What really shocked me is their Razor spotting scope suddenly and unexpectedly were no longer Japanese and made in China and I am not 100% certain if any Razors are still made in China or will be switched to Chinese in the future. Same with Leupold and Burris spotting scopes I was really shocked to find out they were Chinese too.

    • @commonsense5709
      @commonsense5709 ปีที่แล้ว

      I try to avoid Chinese made scopes whenever possible and will never ever again pay full price for any rebranded Chinese made scope. I've been and still am a real sucker for smoking deals on Chinese made optics though whenever they are on sale for 40 - 60% off though. Most people simply don't realize how cheap the Chinese can actually manufacture any scope from Pinty and Center points to WestHunters to Monstrom Tacticals to Element Optics to Vortex and Athlon Midas Tac, Ares BTR and ETR and Hawke Sidewinders and Frontiers including ridiculously cheap Chinese materials and slave labor for pennies on the dollar in the P.R.C. I wouldn't be surprised if the cost to manufacture a scope in China is anywhere between $20 and $100 which they resell for $45 - $1259. I have had my fair share of overpriced Chinese made junk scopes from well known popular brands as well so just remember that while some Chinese scopes are decent, there are also real dogs in the bunch of Chinese scopes that you might get burnt on if you listen to the hype from the brand loyal shills out there and all those reviewers who are only out to only make a profit or commission from your sale.
