I noticed that too, but I didn't think she was in Deadly Device. Of course, I've only played the game once (when it came out) and that was a long time ago.
I LOVE Deirdre's voice!! Interesting to put a face to the voice ^^ can't wait for midnight in salem cause I think she's coming out again in it according to teasers. But Nancy's voice is different :( but still excited for the gaaaaaame
Ever since I found out about this game with Nancy drew doing something on Teslas coil I had to play and when I did I just fell in love with the game! In short the team did an awesome job on this game!!!!! :)
I thought Deirdre Shannon aka Meghan Halverson..rocked it!!! ....so cool seeing Meghan talk & Deirdres voice comes out!!! And what about Joe Hardy!!...Robert Jones definitely surprised me when he started talking & was Joe's voice was there This was fun to watch
NIK: the dialogue is amazing in the games :) I love how the conversations are funny sometimes :) like when Dylan's trying to come up with something to say if Lily comes back "Look out, its Lily!" Lol :D :D :D sooo funny :)
Holy cow so freaking jealous! This is awesome! For Phoenix, how did you ever manage to get an internship there...it's like a ND fan's dream come true!! :)
I don't have any questions for the writer guy, but I *love* the dialogue he writes. The conversations in these games are always so funny! :D I need to watch this again after I've played the game so I can "see" the voices of the characters...ooh, that will be fun!
Again awesome video!! It's so amazing how video games come together! Really inspiring!!! Two questions for Nik: 1) When writing a Nancy Drew storyline, is it mostly an individual job or is anyone else on the Herinteractive team involved? 2) Since Herinteractive makes 2 games a year, is it stressful to write two plots at the same time? Especially since the first game always previews the second game when completing it?
A few questions for Nik: - Do you often end up changing various things about the script before/during the time when the voice actors record? -How many revisions do you normally make before you finally come up with a finished product? -How do you solve those frustrating bouts of writer's block? :P
I have a question for Nik: Do you try to put a lot of infesis on keeping the style of the Nancy Drew games faithful to the style of the books or does it naturally work out that way?
how awesome it is the studio i wish that icould go there!!! Question for Nick: Do you think that the next Nancy Drew game The Deadly Device will be more easy or harder than the latest games on the term of characters, the story and Nancy Drew????
Question for Nik: Do you ever get stuck when writing the games? How do you get unstuck? And have there been any characters that were hard to write? Oh, and Phoenix, thanks for doing this. :D
Questions for Nik: Was there a favorite ND game of his to write or a favorite character in a game? Do you ever have specific voice actors in mind when you write characters for a game? Do you generally write the script as a continuous piece or do you write the action/events for the game and fill in conversations later? Question for you: (you may have already said this) What is your favorite ND game? What was the first ND game you played? Who's your favorite villian from the games?
question for Nick: whats going on with sonny joon? when we meet him? we got to know a lot more about him in the last game. is it fun writing the jokes? do you write the bloopers? if so, are they fun to write? how do you come up with such funny stuff? can you focus a little more on nancys mom? OH! Aaaaaaaaaaand... SUBMARINE?! WHATS FRANK DOING IN A SUBMARINE?! Thnx! ; '
Question for Nik: It seems like a lot of the latest Nancy Drew games have really focused on developing the main characters, giving them real issues to deal with like Nancy's relationship troubles in The Captive Curse or hints about her mother's death in Tomb of the Lost Queen. Did you find these personal moments really difficult or rewarding to write? Also: Sonny Joon. Lots of new information about him. What is going ON with that boy? Can we expect more from him soon? XD
Phoenix isn't at HeR Interactive anymore, but a few years ago we did an interview video with her that you can watch here: th-cam.com/video/PC7RlRrsvDg/w-d-xo.html
Question: How do you get the recordings of animal sounds (when you need to use them)? Do you get ones that have already been used, or do you actually record animals? Or do you have very talented people do the animal sounds? :) I know Lani Minella did the voices of Coucou and Loulou.
Yeah, it's definitely likely it's just the same actor - though her voice sounds just like the role of Dierdre, still. :P I thought maybe it was an unused Dierdre clip or something; since even the "Hey there, Nancy Drew" sounded kind of cynical. xP
It's so weird putting a face to the voices. That was definitely Deirdre at the beginning.
I noticed that too, but I didn't think she was in Deadly Device. Of course, I've only played the game once (when it came out) and that was a long time ago.
she doesn't come out in it but she's nancy's go-to for the phone actually! :) so nancy calls her a lot in the game
like that voice different voice yes is weird joe voice same hayher face too her voice nick play cataract Nancy drew face voice cannot it
I LOVE Deirdre's voice!! Interesting to put a face to the voice ^^ can't wait for midnight in salem cause I think she's coming out again in it according to teasers. But Nancy's voice is different :( but still excited for the gaaaaaame
If I had been there, my 10 year old self would have been straight up crying the whole time from excitement
Joe...a middle aged heavy bald guy...wow!
Yeah.. Feels weird coz i have a crush on Joe and I associated his character with that voice!
Still kinda hot though.
Oh my gosh Frank and Joe...
Ever since I found out about this game with Nancy drew doing something on Teslas coil I had to play and when I did I just fell in love with the game! In short the team did an awesome job on this game!!!!! :)
i was shocked when i found out the woman who does the nancy drew voice also did luke from the professor layton games
Am I the only one who thinks this but aren’t these vlogging videos the best? Just love it when a company is transparent about what they do...
Omg Joe Hardy is a middle aged bald guy -- mind blown!
youd be surprised at how many games Lani minnela is in. shes even in some of the sonic games
Skyrim too
This is really cool! Thanks Phoenix! As for voices: 1) Dierdre, 2) Niko, 3) Mason?, 4) Joe/Frank
3) Frank 4)joe
WHOA JOE HARDY!!!
I am loving watching the videos by Pheonix of Her Interactive workings.
Seems everything HI releases is golden. Thank you!
Keep it up!
Part of me wishes I didn’t watch this video. Now I can’t listen to Joe Hardy the same lol
This is awesome! I didn't expect the guy who plays Joe to look like that. I'm so excited for the new game!
Wonder how the writer gets the inspiration?...
I thought Deirdre Shannon aka Meghan Halverson..rocked it!!!
....so cool seeing Meghan talk & Deirdres voice comes out!!!
And what about Joe Hardy!!...Robert Jones definitely surprised me when he started talking & was Joe's voice was there
This was fun to watch
I was TOTALLY going to ask you to meet the voice actors. You are the best vlog ever.
i come back to this just to remember what HER used to be like.
DEIDRE WAS THE COOLEST!!
NIK: the dialogue is amazing in the games :) I love how the conversations are funny sometimes :) like when Dylan's trying to come up with something to say if Lily comes back "Look out, its Lily!" Lol :D :D :D sooo funny :)
It's so weird seeing this video after you've beaten the Deadly Device O.o
Holy cow so freaking jealous! This is awesome! For Phoenix, how did you ever manage to get an internship there...it's like a ND fan's dream come true!! :)

This is so good thanks Phoenix! Please make more behind the scenes!

This video made me so happy
The second voice actor seemed very nervous.
First person is Deirdre, next is Niko, 3 person is Frank, lastly Joe(:
that sound board controller under the computer looks a lot like the same sound board in Stay Tuned For Danger ;). coincidence?
Aw, Deirdre!
Love the videos! Keep them coming:")
You're lucky; I wish I had The Deadly Device.
Can you ask Nick how many Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys books he's read?
A few questions for Nik:
- Do you often end up changing various things about the script before/during the time when the voice actors record?
-How many revisions do you normally make before you finally come up with a finished product?
-How do you solve those frustrating bouts of writer's block? :P
thnx 4 the vids, Pheonix!

Question for Nick: Do you think that the next Nancy Drew game The Deadly Device will be more easy or harder than the latest games on the term of characters, the story and Nancy Drew????
...:O i used to have a crush on joe when i was younger!! :O
I beat the deadly device already
Question for Nik: Do you ever get stuck when writing the games? How do you get unstuck? And have there been any characters that were hard to write?
Oh, and Phoenix, thanks for doing this. :D

oh my god!!!!
Admirable is the Name of God. :)
I think the third person is Frank. Maybe? Not positive.
nice
Thats so cool

My question for Nick is, what character is/was the most fun to write for?
Question: Have you ever written a character or scene in a game that is based off a personal experience?
Here's a question for Nick- How come we never see Nancy in in any of the Nancy Drew games? I would really like to know what she looks like!!(:
Hey Nik, who are your favorite reoccurring characters to write dialouge for? (ex. Joe, Nancy, Hotchkiss etc.)
Is Phoenix still with Her? She's great :O
Phoenix isn't at HeR Interactive anymore, but a few years ago we did an interview video with her that you can watch here: th-cam.com/video/PC7RlRrsvDg/w-d-xo.html
It's amazing to me how many years it's taken them to release midnight in salem... what in the hell happened!??

Where's our new game Midnight at Salem?
Hi Jen! Nancy Drew: Midnight in Salem will be released on November 19th, 2019 with pre-roders beginning on October 1st!
i have a question, will you ever show what Nancy looks like in the Games
oh gosh this is so cool :333!!! Thanks so much for doing this...
What's his inspiraation when he writes to create a certain atmosphere in a conversation?
what is with everyone and Joe Hardy? :/
This is really fun by why does it look like she recorded this video on a toaster?
NIKO JOVIC OMGOSH
Also. OMG JOE HARDY =D
Who do you guys think all the voices were??
Yeah, it's definitely likely it's just the same actor - though her voice sounds just like the role of Dierdre, still. :P
I thought maybe it was an unused Dierdre clip or something; since even the "Hey there, Nancy Drew" sounded kind of cynical. xP
Oh my gosh from 4:27 to 5:14 it's Joe Hardy! This is SO weird!
Wait, so does this mean Dierdre makes a reappearance as a phone friend in Deadly Device? =o
Or was it just an old clip?
Wait, was that the voice of Dierdre? The first girl?
question for nick: who is the most annoying character you've written for the games? :)
What Does Nancy Look Like?
:)
